Sir Dillon Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Hello! After a long time of wrecking and rebuilding, I have finished version 2 of my Sith Infiltrator. X-D Thanks to everyone who left comments and suggestions on how to build v2. Here is the gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=213991 I guess it doesn't really look that different, but I changed pretty much the entire back section, and made the whole ship a lot stronger. Unit 186 said on Flickr that I should change the engine color, what are others thoughts on this? Comments and criticism appreciated, please let me know what you think! :-) -Dillon ~~~~~~~~~~ This is my Sith Infiltrator creation that I've been working on for the past month and a half or so. It's heavily inspired by Lowlead's Infiltrator, and Warhawk's, to a degree. Here is a link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=192146 I tried giving it landing gear, but I couldn't get it to hold the ship up without looking really strange, so I just used a stand in the end. I also couldn't find a picture of the inside of the actual cockpit, so mine's completely made up. I have no idea if it's accurate at all. I actually posted this on FBTB a bit ago, but forgot to post it here, thinking I already had (I did post a WIP thread here, which is why I think I got confused) They suggested making the sphere bigger, and the wings shorter. I've pretty much wrecked the back now, and am reworking it. Comments and criticism welcome, please let me know what you think! X-D Quote
Sir Dillon Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Thanks! Yup, that's the official Lego model in pictures 12 and 13. Mine is much closer to the actual scale then Lego's, but mine is still too small! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks! Do you mean like a picture from the movie? Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 That's amazing, I love the comparison shots. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 That's a brilliant MOC Dillon. It shows how bad the original Lego one was X-D. Although Episode 1 was one of my least favourite films, you MOC demonstrates how the vehicles in it were pretty damn good. Very well done, keep it up. Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 He he dillon, finally the finished model 8- Quote
KimT Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Nice work and thanks for the comparison pic - makes it a lot easier to...well....yes...compare KimT Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 Sarg_Kulo: Thanks! JoeMI6: Thanks! TPM isn't actually a big favorite of mine either, (my second to last SW film, just in front of AOTC) but I really like the look of the Infiltrator, hence this. :-) xwingyoda: Thanks very much! When did I say I hated TIEs though? kimt: Thanks. :-P Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Never Dillon ;-) !! I am so used to this joke that it came naturally :-P My bad there lool *yoda* Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Heh, no problem. While I don't hate the TIEs, I don't really like them either. I have the original one (that came with the Stormtrooper) but that's it. The Sith Infiltrator is a much cooler ship, IMO. ;-) Quote
Unknown Artist Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Wow! That's a really great MOC! I have to say that this is the best minifig scale interpritation of the ship I've ever seen. *y* You can find the pictures of the interior in the SW: Episode 1 Increadinbe Cross-Sections, btw. It is supposed to have a few seating places inside for the passengers, but I like your version too. We're looking forward to seing more SW customs from you! ;-) Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Thanks for the reply Victor! :-) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've heard that the cross sections books has some good pictures of, but I don't own it. I may have to buy it some time, though. We're looking forward to seing more SW customs from you! We? Is there someone else posting with you? ;-) I'm not sure when I'll do another SW creation though, we'll see. Quote
Unknown Artist Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Yes, preciousss, it must be our second personality. *sweet* Quote
Kahgarak Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I had the TLC version and dismantled it because I thought it was so hideous :-D I would destroy it as well. The official model is horrible! Dillion's version is awesome though...and that model's still too small?Crazy... Quote

moogly Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 This looks excellent. Great job on this. Quote
Darkness Falls Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Very nice, but I think the nose just looks a little... bland. Perhaps adding a little more detail to the front would suit me fine. But hey, I'm not the builder. Still, VERY nice... I like it. Good job! Quote

But hey, I'm not the builder.Still, VERY nice... I like it. Good job! Thanks for the reply. I know the nose looks a bit boring, but don't really know how to make it look any better while keeping it look like the real ship still. Any suggestions? I've posted a few pictures of the progress on v2. If you want, you can see them Here :-) Anymore comments or suggestions are appreciated. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 I have finished version 2! Please see the first post. *sweet* BTW, is there some way that I can edit the topic title, so that it says I have added version two? Quote
Sir Dillon Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Perhaps it's not different enough to draw any new replies? :-/ Quote
Siegfried Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Perhaps it's not different enough to draw any new replies? :-/ It sure is; but you just had to wait over a year for someone to take the time to look! X-D The engine improvements make a huge difference and the areas where you changed the grey makes the whole model look more accurate. This is one of those models that look perfect as a thumbnail. *wub* Is is still together? Quote
