Sariel Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) I'm sure you've seen many already, but this one sort of works :) Description: http://sariel.pl/2011/06/portal-sentry-turret/ Photos: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=475385 Video: Edited June 13, 2011 by Sariel Quote
chorlton Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cute, in a "target detected. Destroy" kind of way Can I ask, what is the software being used to control it? Not Mindstorms? Awesome game, and awesome model Quote
Sariel Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Lego WeDo was used. It's a rarity, as far as I know there was only one set with this software so far. I'd prefer to use Mindstorms actually, but Mindstorms is so expensive :( Quote
TheAnderson Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cool!!!!Very good use Wedo! Cute, in a "target detected. Destroy" kind of way Can I ask, what is the software being used to control it? Not Mindstorms? Awesome game, and awesome model This is Lego Wedo for kids) Quote
legolijntje Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Great I was looking forward to this; I saw the WIP on your facebook. I really like this, because: -I like Lego -I like Portal (2) And of course it's a good model Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 "You did a good job." Anyways, I quite like this, I would like to see the firing sound from the game. Good shaping too. Quote
phool Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I love the work you did with video, very slick production! It's a shame you didn't manage to achieve all of your original objectives with the turret but an awesome model nonetheless! I can also relate to your emotion at the end of the video Quote
P4trickvH Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Another amazing creation sariel, great video to. I really like the the separate turret. Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 FANTASTIC!!! I've never seen a so cute sentry robot! The shape is beautiful and the things I like the most are the eyes and the legs! What can I say about the music of this hypnotic video? SUPER! I love the voice of this mechanical pet! Quote
grepin Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Despite the limitations, this is quite amazing - great job! Quote
dunamis Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Very well done! I'm interested in the software as well. Can you tell us more about it? Quote
DLuders Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 @ dunamis: From the National Instruments (NI) website, it says "The LEGO Education WeDo platform, powered by LabVIEW, redefines classroom robotics, making it possible for primary school students ages 7 to 11 to build and program their own solutions. LEGO Education WeDo provides a hands-on learning experience that actively engages children’s creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The WeDo environment is programmed with simple, drag-and-drop software created in LabVIEW!" Quote
