Sean Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Well, it turned out to be more of an overall change, as so far I have added two midsections, and am trying to mix up the color scheme some. So far the pictures are mostly just the taking apart, but I have the shots of the hull extended now. The bow also is white as compared to the gold. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=196760 I'll be adding more as I go along, granted I don't forget to take pictures as I build haha. God bless, Sean Quote
El Bucanero Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 I'm now imagining how she would look... wow... great, i suggest you should change the bow, make it bit higher, or she may look too blocky even after this changes! lengthening is a great advance on your ship, I asume you will add a third mast??Love to see the final outcome, good luck! Arrr Mr Tiber Quote
oo7 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Looking good, Sean, because of the Coritian's monsterous hight I think it will look a lot better with the longer hull. Can't wait to see the it when it's finished. Quote
SkaForHire Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 wow, i too am imagining how you are going to do this... that is going to be awesome! am i counting right, 7 midsections? its late my eyes are not working enough to trust them... I can't wait to see her finished, how many guns do you think she will work out to be? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 9, 2006 Governor Posted August 9, 2006 Here's a picture of the ship for your thread lad - a picture at the top of the thread usually attracts more responses. I must say I'm liking this version much better but the sterncastle seems to be non existent. Is it just me or should there be a sterncastle? Quote
Admiral Starwind Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 See here's the thing i've noticed in designing my ships lately in ML Cad and that is we are all too used to making comfy ships, now i'll tell you why things like our guns decks and the lower decks of these ships we are designing we are making them too high they are supposed to be very short decks if you see any movies or documentaries when somebody goes down on to the gun deck they are bend over like a wet noodle or on there knees so that is what i am implementing on my ships where the deck is just high enough to clear the gun and it seems to be working and allowing me to give the ship still a pleasant shape. phew having said that i always liked the corinthian even if she were boxy. Governor Mister Phes Posted August 10, 2006 Governor Posted August 10, 2006 if you see any movies or documentaries when somebody goes down on to the gun deck they are bend over like a wet noodle Wet noodle? Are those sailors boneless or something? But yes, I can relate to what you mean as the lower decks of ships in the media you have mentioned do seem rather cramped. Quote
Captain Ironhook Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Oh yes, this ship is looking better now but what kind of ship is it? It looks like a luxury cruise ship too me because of all the white but they didn't have those ships back then did they? Quote
El Bucanero Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 It seems a ten gun corvette to me, if I had the parts, and the ship, I would love to change the stern castle and the armament, sadly I don't have the parts..... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 5, 2006 Governor Posted September 5, 2006 Given that you lack the parts and the ship Mr Tiber, hypothetically how would you change the stern castle and armament? Quote
El Bucanero Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 The only actual lack are lattice windows panes and window frames, I like the ship, but like I said I would love to do some work with the stern section... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 13, 2006 Governor Posted September 13, 2006 Here's the stern... It looks fine to me - what more could you possibly want to do? Quote
El Bucanero Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I would make it a bit lower, and an extra window would look good to me, make it a bit more realistic, that's what I should do. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 24, 2006 Governor Posted September 24, 2006 Maybe this is an unfair comparission but after looking at the stern of the VOC Ship Denise and then looking at this one, well ummm... Its very ordinary looking isn't it? Perhaps the Denise could be a great inspiration... Quote
