filospinato Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 So my kids like playing the online beta version of LEGO Star Wars III and I've noticed while they were playing that a couple of characters aren't currently available but look like they could be in the near future. This was the case with Savage Opress, it was the first place that his LEGO character likeness was spotted. Such may also be the case with the Clone Wars version of Senator Amidala and a new version of Jango Fett. See attached screenshots from the game. Luckily my son is good enough at it to have unlocked these characters. Observations: This Jango is definitely based on the Mandalorians but has different details which set him apart. Dark blue highlights on the helmet, dark bley torso, purple arms and legs, brown hips and belt. Both Jango and the Senator sport a new blaster mold, very similar to those used by Jango in Episode II. Anyways, just wanted to share. Quote
SWMAN Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 It is possible that Lego might be releasing at least one of these figures in the future. The Jango Fett isn't as likely. I don't think they're going to worry too much about tweaking the coloring. The new Padme is probably more likely. I think that the new blasters are a long shot. Lego seems pretty content using the same rifles and two different kinds of blasters for every set and figure. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think that the new blasters are a long shot. I agree. And in the past new 'figs created by TT for the games haven't often become physical ones, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I'd say Jango is the more likely of the two, simply because the new molds already exist and we haven't seen any AOTC sets in quite awhile. One can only hope! Quote
Big Cam Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 With the star wars line, I stopped ruling out fig's with Kit Fisto, TLG has surprised me ever since with new fig's, I never thought I'd see. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 It is not likely that Lego will release the figs, just because they are in de video game. But it is kikely that some will be made in real lego. Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 LMAO!!! Sadly, it's true. There's so much wasted potential with her, too. Imagine all the minifigs. Quote
Rhodes81 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 agreed on the guns, if you want anything realistic it seems you have to go through brickarms and and LA, which I have done quite a bit recently. I'd love a new Padme figure, if only because there aren't that many human female minifigs made at this point. All the girls, at least recently, have been humanoids. Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Figures, vehicle designs and such are most of the time made for the game by completely different designers and not by LEGO. Those games model designers don´t have to pay attention to how much the figure or model would cost as actual set or if it would even be able to stay together for 5 minutes in a windy enviorment. The same applies to the figures, they can have color-markings anywhere you like in the games but making Amidalas crown-piece from LSW 1 in real life isn´t going to be that easy with pearls and areas of maybe a millimetres width to paint in at least four colors. So far none of the figures that first appeared in the LSW games were released one to one when it came to an actual product (see Kit Fisto from LSW 1 and 2) and sometimes a redesign by LEGO themselves doesn´t mean the character gets reworked in the newer games, even when it wouldn´t be that hard (see Aayla Secura and Darth Vader in LSW 3 which use the same models from LSW Complete Saga). Eeth Koth is also a good example. He was featured in LSW 3 but the figure from the frigate has the head and hair be single pieces while the games had them be one piece which actually flows much better. The chance that Jango and Padmé are going to be released in this forms isn´t any higher than before but on the same note not lower. Also, I now see that you are talking about this free onlinegame and not the retail one for the consoles. It seems this onlinegame is much faster to programm than the retail game, but thus far every Star Wars set for this year except an UCS is already known. They certainly are able to programm characters with finished designs but not yet released in the game, but the next sets are comming in December/January, I don´t think they finalize figs that far in advance, and so the earlier explained retail game rules kick in. legolegolegolego Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) I thought I read here that a new Padme figure was going to be released this month in a new Star Wars set. Is that no longer the case? - Michael Edited June 18, 2011 by legolegolegolego Quote
KimT Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I doubt that. Hopefully we'll get a new Padme, but not in this round of sets. Quote

KimT Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Yeah, but that's not really new, is it? Isn't legolegolegolego asking for a new Padme? - as in - not a redesign? Or did I completely misunderstand what he asked? Quote
legolegolegolego Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 We get a Padmé in handmaiden disguise redesign from episode 1 with Darth Mauls Infiltrator. http://imperiumderst...pictureid=73780 That is the one. Thank you for posting it. I hope there is more news of that set soon. I guess 'new' is a relative term! - Michael Quote
legobodgers Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I still cannot believe that this years padme is the first since 1999, 12 years ago. I think that TLG's reason for not including her in sets is younger children would prefer an exiting jedi rather than a senator Quote
