Hoexbroe Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) ***Update; 1/7-2011; Some more photos added on page 2. Hi all, Hotel Chat Noir; Small french hotel around 1965. The model is not made after any specific prototype. MOC is minifig-scale, basically made to show with my classic vehicles, presented in other threads here on the forum. The back-side is complete, but rather plain, so I didnt feel the need to show any photos of it here. Instead another photo from a littel above; Bu-bye! Edited July 1, 2011 by Hoexbroe Quote
The0 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Very nice! A lot of arhitectural details. The "hotel" sign is a custom sticker? Quote
Zeon Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 The hotel is nice, but.. can we have some more pictures of the car? :) Quote
Hoexbroe Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Very nice! A lot of arhitectural details. The "hotel" sign is a custom sticker? Thanks! The "Hotel" brick is original! It´s a printed transparent brick from an ancient light-set. Almost as old as myself. @Zeon; Okay, I will publish photos of the car soon! It´s prett similar to the red car used in my moc "On BIG moc", also published here... Quote
cimddwc Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Great hotel with a good-looking harmonious architecture. (There's no interior, I assume?) And nice to see another of the ancient "Hotel" bricks after I used one in my little hotel recently. Quote
Lego Man Can Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 That's really good, a lot of detail you managed to fit into such a small house! Quote
Hoexbroe Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Great hotel with a good-looking harmonious architecture. (There's no interior, I assume?) And nice to see another of the ancient "Hotel" bricks after I used one in my little hotel recently. Thanks; There is no interior, nor does it open for access. (I might install curtains in the windows, though) The Hotel-brick; I think I saw your moc here (very nice!) -but I deny to have copied you. LOL Edit; I tried to find the hotel with this same hotel-brick, but couldnt. I invite you to post the link to your MOC herem please!) Edited June 19, 2011 by Hoexbroe Quote

lightningtiger Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 One word.....EXCELLENT....a beautiful and very French Hotel 'Hoexbroe'. The car is very nice too, would there be an interior to the hotel ? Great work and Brick On 'Hoexbroe' ! Quote
Adrian86 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I have to say that´s a beautiful hotel with a great look. I´m sure it would look fantastic in a larger town diorama. Great work! Quote
L@go Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Really nice. I find it very impressive that you're so uncannily good at building realistic cars and at the same time you can build houses like this :) My favourite detail is the flag. It looks very good with the slope pieces. EDIT: Would have been nice with a black cat somewhere, though! Edited June 19, 2011 by L@go Quote
sonicstarlight Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 The hotel is great - clean, but still well detailed. That car is truly excellent, although I am partial to any car with fins in both Lego and real life. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Another fantastic creation Hoexbroe! I simply love the classic 60s architecture of this hotel especially that inner corner tower detail, and the vintage car complements the build rather nicely. Brilliant job as always! Quote
F0NIX Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 It is AMAZING!! I just love it! :) Lots of details, and not too much either. And that small scale! (when I try this type of buildings they gets huge) Quote
Larrynautik Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 This is a superb creation, the hotel as far as the black car on a sixties style. Good work ! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Great hotel 'Hoexbroe'. Wonderful architectural detail! Excellent work Quote
Hoexbroe Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Hi again, I´m modifying the hotel; I´ve found a way to make it 4 studs longer in each section, by combining roof-bricks normally intended for corners and ends. This has given some space for more decoration; (The other part still has not been modified. I´ll post a full shot of the building when I get around to finish it) The tower has been expanded from 4x4 studs to 6x6, allowing for better windows and... ...a black cat! (it´s painted, sorry ) I think somebody asked about photos from the back of the building; -Not much to see, and the MOC wont be looked at from behind anyway... Finally, a photo of the interior decoration; -Ah, that´s right. There isn´t any! Quote
Pingles Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 That is the nicest "car accessory" I've ever seen. Great work! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Wonderful MOC, it would fit perfectly with my station! Very great work, thanks for sharing! Quote
brickmack Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Nice hotel MOC 'Hoexbroe'. Lot's of nice details. Is the 1932 sign the same design as the Fire Brigade one? (Also shouldn't it say 1965? ) For some reason the back end of the car is just really bugging me, maybe the sticking out tail lights? I guess most old cars looks like that though... Quote
Hoexbroe Posted July 2, 2011 Author Posted July 2, 2011 Nice hotel MOC 'Hoexbroe'. Lot's of nice details. Is the 1932 sign the same design as the Fire Brigade one? (Also shouldn't it say 1965? ) For some reason the back end of the car is just really bugging me, maybe the sticking out tail lights? I guess most old cars looks like that though... Thanks. The sign is NOT the same as the Fire Brigade one. I´ve seen in the instructions the way they wrote it. My method is more simple. I would even say more traditional... There is nothing strange in using a building in 1965 that was build in 1932. I would even say that it is the rule rather than the exception. The year on the building is to date the architecture and style. The actual date (1960´ish) is to date the car and the surroundings. Quote
Fires-storm Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Well done on this beautiful building, though it is rather a shame that it doesn't open I look forward to more work from you! Quote
WhiteFang Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 This is a very nice and outstanding piece of vintage looking hotel within France. I like the colour combination which was used for the exterior and the small little details at the front. I did wish for a grand entrance but considering it was built in "1932", I can understand why a door was used. Quote
