Hi all,!

After my latest MOC "Encounter at pirate cave" and watching beautiful vessels on Classic-pirates, I decided to make a ship for Bjornu.

So now he is promoted to Captain!!!!

So the story goes on:

Bjornu ordered the shipyard to build a vessel in his favorite colors: Red&Black

As the ship name says: "Den Roode Dood" wich means "The Red Dead", she is going to hunt some Pirates!! :pir-sweet:

Well my first ship ever made, I decided to leave the Sails behind because those were paper and ruined the look, Well First ship I ever made Watch And Enjoy!!

The crew:

Flagship "Den Roode Dood"

And a slideshow for all the pictures:

Please, feel free to comment !!

Beatiful! :pir-wub: I love how you managed to make the shape of her, and the colours are just right. I would how ever try to add third cannon somewhere on her sides, maby where that front tower *or what ever its called* is.(Inside it! If you know what i eman.)

Otherly than that, its a beatiful looking ship, but wouldnt you want to change her name maby? It sounds a bit funny. :pir_laugh2:

Thanks for Commenting!

Well, I wanted to keep it the way it is right now.

I could have added 4 more guns, but I liked it this way.

And about the name: Den Roode Dood.

It's Old dutch, well its spelled in the old way....

But im glad you liked it!

It was my first, so I was pretty nervous about what people were going to say about it.

Ty for commenting again!

Not Bad for your first Ship! Actually it's really great. I like the overall design and the colorsheme.

Some minor things could be improved. you could use technic conectors or 1x1 round bricks instead of plates for the yards... but overall you really did a great job. The pull out cannon at the stern is great.

You could at some bowchasers to make her a real hunter... but that's just a suggestion!

Nice work and another great MOC!

actually, this is not a bug. The forum will refresh its counters only after a certain time period because real-time counting would consume much more bandwidth. You should see a certain amount of views now.

I like the ship very much! It has a feeling somewhere between carrack and galleon and the details of the hull as well as the overall shaping are look quite nice. To that matter I like that you haven't put in more cannons as this adds to realism of that era! Well done!

That's what I like to see! A refreshing change from all the napolionic ships people build. I love this style ships and you have done a nice job here. I'm currently building a fleet of English galleons and it can be challenging to get the shape right. You have achieved a easily recognizable shape, so well done. The colourscheme and details are nice and I agree about the cannons as they were not as heavily gunned. Nice work, my pirate crew will look forward to sinking her!!! :)

It's indeed a very nice ship. The shape and colourscheme are good and the yards are placed in the right positions.

I especially like the working gunport hatch on the stern

On future ships you could indeed use 1x1 round bricks for yards, lower the forecastle a little bit, and use a bit more brown on the decks and details (IMO).

But you did an excellent job here.

Nicely done, I like the shape of it but I do think the forecastle should be located a bit closer to the bow, good job.

Btw, I don't think that's a funny name :pirate_skel1:

hehe Well thanks for the support, I would love to meet you in battle since it's me, myself and I who is the captain of Den Roode Dood

This can't be your 1st ship?!? It's to amazing! :pir-wub:

Well, it actually is My first :pir-sweet:, but I did some modelling in the past.

guess i got my experience with shipbuilding from back these days :pir-grin:

Very Dutch indeed. It sounds Dutch too! :pir-grin:

Well, maybe that's because I Am dutch :pir-sweet:

I actually hoped some dutch people would recognize the name =]

Good name.

Being Dutch and all. ;)

Time to build the:

De Zeven Provinciën van luitenant-admiraal Michiel de Ruyter?

If i had the bricks i would, Michiel is one of my heroes.

But i did made a fortress, called Fortress De Ruyter to honor him :pir-sweet:

hey, great ship Bjornu!

first one! :pir-oh: wow :pir-oh:!, great technic and shape

now, you just need the sails

I read paper in some place, I propose that you should use some kind of cloth, like blanket (cheap and good looking on any ship)

good luke with that!

I think I'll break it before it has sails, I'm already thinking of my next creation!

Wow, looks cool! I liked the dragon's head detail in the front part of the ship!

Isn't the crew is a bit big for thet ship? :pir-hmpf_bad:

Not at all. If this is supposed to be a galleon-type, I'd say the crew's even a bit small. But actually, since this is a very free approach on a ship in means of technical accuracy, I'd say he's fine with every amount of crew :pir-grin:

hehe, all the crew was onboard.

But since my vessel has no Gundeck like a frigate, there is enough space for more crew.

but I just had 24 bluecoats at that time and another 12 stored in another Diorama( wich is broken now)

I think my vessel was a good try for the first time,as for the crew I have to learn more about that :pir-sweet:

Hope you enjoyed it !
