Red Bricks Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I was wondering how a user becomes a moderator/ ambassador or whatever in a certain forum, are voted in by members, or chosen by current moderators? I'm obviously not aiming for something like that at the moment, note I am only a vassal at the minute, but I'm just curious. Quote
L-space Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Invitation only. So be a good sport, stay focussed and you never know. Oh, and I think it involves giving away your free time and sacrifsing some other stuff (sanity?) but that's supposed to be a secret. Quote
Legostein Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Hello! I also recommend having a look at the following topic, especially at the last text paragraph. EB User Groups and Tags Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Hoboman Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 To be honest, I do not know why anyone would want to be a mod. I have been a mod and an admin on a few forums and it is work. Sometimes the SPAM guys break through the firewall or some members get into a fight and you are spending your time cleaning up the mess. I respect and appreciate those who are Mods, but I would wonder at someone who really wants it. Quote

I love EB so I'm mostly cool with it, but it costs me a lot of time. Thanks for the appreciation. ...oh and on the subject of work please don't make such vague topic titles Red Bricks. I've renamed the topic. I was wondering how a user becomes a moderator/ ambassador or whatever in a certain forum, are voted in by members, or chosen by current moderators? Ambassadors are a separate issue; they are recommended by the AFOL community and picked by TLG. (The exact method varies from year to year.) They are not directly part of EB. Quote
Hoboman Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Thanks for the appreciation. You are most welcome. Knowing what it takes to be a good Admin/Mod I think they all deserve some respect and thanks. Quote
