CopMike Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Hi! In our collective layout for Brickworld this year there of course had to be a Maersk monorail. Here´s a video how it turned out, I´ll add some stills later on. Hope you like it ! Quote
Ricecracker Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Too bad there's no video of it hitting the container that the crane was holding. Quote
kyphur Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I loved the Maersk Monorail Train! When I approached the display it was immediately recognizable and I was like "Woah! That's a Mini-Maersk on a Mono-Rail!" Quote
CopMike Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Too bad there's no video of it hitting the container that the crane was holding. You mean like this ? I loved the Maersk Monorail Train! When I approached the display it was immediately recognizable and I was like "Woah! That's a Mini-Maersk on a Mono-Rail!" Thanks! The really funny twist on that was that when Norro sat at our display a couple of people came and said that they thought it would be bigger because that´s how it looks on the Lego box ! Sorry TLG if I scared away some potential 10219 customers ! Some more pics. The crane is also built of Maersk Blue, at last some of my rare parts could be used. As for the train itself I will probably modify it, this was a build friday night (had some of that good´ol Stash´s Long Island Ice Tea) and the morning after just before opening to the public . Quote
snefroe Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 You mean like this ? wow! i'm mostly imprsessed by that dude hanging onto the container whilst spinning like crazy!! g... the g-forces that guy handles are amazing...even though he is turning blue... Quote
Ricecracker Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 You mean like this ? I was thinking about the time it fell. Quote
Legoless Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 wow! i'm mostly imprsessed by that dude hanging onto the container whilst spinning like crazy!! g... the g-forces that guy handles are amazing...even though he is turning blue... Maybe it was a performance by the Blue Man Group? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOL8-qIYemg Anyway- an interesting take on the Maersk train! Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Incredible realization ...I love the Maersk azure-blu placed everywhere! The locomotive looks a little bit funny! Quote
Teddy Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Maersk blue goodyness and mono-rails.... Really like how you fitted the Maersk train on the mono-rail undercarriage. Quote
Hinckley Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 CopMike, my dear friend, we need a "Monorail Tech Tutorial" from you. I'm building an ore hauling monorail with multiple cars, and I can't get the car to stop scraping the track on the incline. It looks like you set the coupling plate one stud past the end of the monorail car. Does this stop it from scraping? Oh Monorail Expert, please enlighten the masses. Quote
Holodoc Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Ouch - I didn't answer to this topic! Shame on me. Such a beautiful creation! But, to be honest, I didn't expect anything less. Now on to the SantaFe! The really funny twist on that was that when Norro sat at our display a couple of people came and said that they thought it would be bigger because that´s how it looks on the Lego box ! Hilarious!
