Posted June 23, 201113 yr On Lowlug, HJR posted this video about a new book: www.minifigure.org What do you think about this new book? Is it worth to buy it, or is Bricklink enough?
June 23, 201113 yr I'd buy that book if the price was right. Love the idea of having them all in there just for reference. Looks like solid photography too.
June 23, 201113 yr I didn't see anything about price on there but it does seem an interesting project.
June 23, 201113 yr The website does not list a price either. They also admit it is not really available right now. Cost will play a big factor in my interest.
July 17, 201113 yr 89 US dollar at https://www.createspace.com/3614960 Yeah, I saw this today. Oh, boy! That's too expensive. I mean, it's a cool book, but that's almost my entire LEGO budget for a month. I'm going to wait to see it listed on Amazon and check if they ever put it on sale. Otherwise, I'm going to wait a while to see if they do a new edition as they get feedback. If I'm going to spend that much, I want to make sure it's as accurate as possible.
July 17, 201113 yr $89.00 USD? Well they just priced me out of th emarket for now. While I think this would be a great book, the cost is too high for me right now. But maybe for Christmas........
July 17, 201113 yr The review on Brickset. This really is a very ambitious piece of work, not only to take thousands of photographs but also to come up with a new numbering system. Christoph should be applauded for undertaking it and delivering an excellent end product. I can’t really criticise or find fault in it at all. Printing on demand; so you order the book and then they will make it. Giving you the latest, updated, edition. Price 89 US dollar, looking better after reading the review. July 18, 201113 yr I think that 89 buck price tag is wrong. Check out this listing: http://www.lulu.com/product/ebook/the-unofficial-lego-minifigure-catalog/16259479

Check out this listing: http://www.lulu.com/product/ebook/the-unofficial-lego-minifigure-catalog/16259479 I could be wrong, but the $89USD is for the printed version and the link you gave is for the PDF version to be used with ebook readers or looked at on your computer. EDIT: Fixed Typo. Edited July 18, 201113 yr by Daniel's Dad
July 19, 201113 yr I could be wrong, but the $89USD is for the printed version and the link you gave is for the PDF version to be used with ebook readers or looked at on your computer. Yep, that's for the download, not the printed version. But $20 bucks for a download is a lot, too. In my opinion anyway. But I'm more likely to buy the download if I really want this than to buy the print version. Either way, I'm waiting a while to buy to see if they do any updates.
July 27, 201113 yr Amazon is now selling the printed book and it's 22% off for $69. Still a little expensive, IMO. http://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-LEGO-Minifigure-Catalog/dp/1463518978/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311730371&sr=8-1
July 27, 201113 yr My copy gets delivered tomorrow. Would be interesting to see what percentage of minifigs I own compared to what is available.
