Captain Bayonet Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I haven't posted a MOC in a while, I've been busy working on tis monstrous SHIP. So far it's at about 3000 bricks. I'm estimating the finished product will be around 12000 parts. I've only started building the second and third floors down, the end product will have about six or seven. Here's the progress so far. First up, an overview of the SHIP Frontview Forward Flight Controls on the bottom and Forward Weapons Controls on top Navigation Room Soon to be Weapons Storage http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Bayonet/CSF-Orion/lddscreenshot15.png I took a bit of a break from the main ship a while ago and made some support vessels Left to right: LL-465 Hawk Dropship, LL-734 Armadillo Troop Deployment Vehicle (TDV), LL-237 Light Assault Tank, LL-111 Bat Fighter I hope you enjoy the progress of this project and have some ideas of how I can improve. ~Bayonet Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Impressive 'Captain B', very impressive digital design you have there....now the big question and you could guess it....but I'll say it anyway...Brick-building it are we as ? Keep going and Brick On 'Captain B' ! Quote

Keep going and Brick On 'Captain B' ! I wish! Sadly, most of the parts I am using are not available in the colours shown. Those trans-yellow windscreens? Nope. Although I'm sure I could find a solution, the price tag is probably enough to put me on the streets! ~Bayonet Quote
egosheep Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 This reminds me of X-COM, in a good way... especially the interiors of the big ship. Quote

Work has just begun on the first of six hangars, this one is for storing the LL-237 Assault Tanks. Pictures soon. ~Bayonet Quote
Artifex Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Massive ship, huh? The way I piucture the finish ship, this things is GARGANTUAN! Great work so far. Keep the pics coming, please! Quote
BasOne Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Most impressive. I hope you can keep to your count of 12k bricks for the entire ship, but as i read what you are planning (6 hangars.. really?) you might go way over that mark. Especially if you're going to do an interior of the entire ship. I found when building such a large vessel it's better to do it in sections. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=55057 (And i'm allready sketching a design that's even bigger ) Good luck, and i'll keep watching this Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks for the advise BasOne, that is a great ship you've got there! I've taken you idea of building in sections. I haven't really had much time in the past couple of days to work on anything, but I have gotten a little bit done. The first gundeck is almost done, and I've built two of the six sleeping quarters. Each will have space for 48 crew members. Now onto the pictures. Gundeck Sleeping Quarters ~Bayonet Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 This is sweet! Can't wait to see the finished product! Such a pity that Lego will never sell a set as huge as this. Good luck building! Quote
