Posted June 24, 201113 yr Hello all! I am taking a break from my normal historic creations, and decided to expand my horizons to city. This is my first City MOC since I came to the community so I am a little tentative to hear your response. Anyhow, I won't bore you, and instead I will just show you the MOC. NOTE: All pics link to MOCpages though this can also be found on Flickr Link to Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/baericks/ Anyhow thanks for viewing, and I would appreciate hearing what you think! MOCpage has much more pictures as well as some stats and descriptions about it. ~Blake
June 24, 201113 yr All your minfigures appear to have gone a bit fleshy..... The hotel looks great. The retail units below the entrance level are really nice and the greebling at the top of the hotel looks fab. Great job. Cheers Rog
June 24, 201113 yr Looks great! I love the foyer windows (too bad there doesn't actually seem to be a foyer or reception). Great levels, very nice architecture.
June 24, 201113 yr AWESOME 'Blake Baer', excellent use of window pieces - very art deco inspired and a fantastic fore court to the hotel including your bank and cafe....very busy too - plenty of action ! Keep them comming and Brick On 'Blake Baer' !
June 24, 201113 yr Author Thank you all for you feedback and encouragement! All your minfigures appear to have gone a bit fleshy..... Haha Rog, you are correct. In as much as I like yellows, Fleshies retain some element of realism. Looks great! I love the foyer windows (too bad there doesn't actually seem to be a foyer or reception). Great levels, very nice architecture. Thank you! Agreed, If I were to do this MOC over again, I would redo the interiors. I found it to be much more cramped than I wanted it.
June 24, 201113 yr I really, really like this - the lovely details, the colour combinations, everything! As others have already pointed out, that window arrangement is very nice, the sign is wonderful and the roof of the bank is different - in a good way. Still, I keep coming back to the small details, particularly the use of that towball piece for an easel and the parts combination for that yellow baby stroller. Great work! (But why has the ice cream seller gone sour?)
June 25, 201113 yr This is certainly a very impressive build Blake, I really like the unique layout of the outside of the hotel, particularly the stairs sandwiched by the bank and cafe establishments. The brickbuilt signage and the clever white window-work are truly great details on this elegant-looking building. Excellent job!
June 25, 201113 yr Ooooh amazing MOC! The banner on the front wall, the big window and the awning are beautiful! I like impressive the marble step! Thanks for sharing
June 25, 201113 yr This is excellent. The SNOT banner is great...the levels are executed amazingly with the below street level shop access...very clever. I really like your yellow stroller/pram.
June 25, 201113 yr That's pretty darn good, Blake Baer! All your minfigures appear to have gone a bit fleshy..... The hotel for pale people...
June 26, 201113 yr Very wonderful starter! Welcome to our nice little town, the sign is definitely a huge attention gatherer.
June 27, 201113 yr Awesome MOC 'BB'. This is absolutely great. The level of detail makes this really stand out. Top notch job, keep up the great work

June 28, 201113 yr Wow, this is good. You put a lot of nice details in it. I really like this setup with the stairs. And you have hidden some nice things under there!
