blueShinyApple Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I'm just wondering if anyone here is interested in building lego soda machines? I first saw some on youtube a long time ago, and i thought 'I could do that 10 times better', and started to make my own and upload to youtube. I think I have 'raised the standard', kinda´... but anyways, take it as a challenge :) make a better one than mine, if you can :) here they are: soda machines playlist Quote
Quichybo Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 (edited) Greetings! I think, the idea is taken from Powerminers 8191 - Lavatraz. So you can easily download the instruction for this set if you want to build a soda machine. Although i didn't know what I was building, I now think it's a nice thing after having it finished. To be more precisely look at this picture: Edited June 26, 2011 by Quichybo Quote
JopieK Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Not 'working', but they do the job for me and lots of others :) Quote

blueShinyApple Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 heh, I was building soda machines a while before i knew about that set... Quote
Vindicare Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Well, since you seem to think you're the best... If you meant bas in function, you may be, although not completely. If talking accuracy, you sont just insert money then then soda drops, you forget the second step, which is pushing a button. Granted, that would be hard to work in at that scale, I'd imagine. Second, the one I viewed; one with the s1 skater CMF, it doesn't resemble any soda machine I've seen. So, to say that you "raised the standard" and such is a bit much. But, in regards to your creation. It is a pretty cool design and the function is neat. How did you make it so the 1x1 comes down when you put the "dollar" in? I hope you didn't find my above comment mean, cause it wasnt my intention. But, when one brags saying he's the best and arch, it better be accurate. That Coke machine looks accurate, it may not function like yours does. Now, if you combine the function and look you'd have one killer soda machine! Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I built this one all those years ago. Not too shabby for being really new to the online community. Quote

blueShinyApple Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 (edited) @Legocrazy81 quest complete; functionality & design. @JopieK thx for good pics :) I, blueShinyApple, proudly present to you an -imho- epic LEGO Soda Machine, it got it all; good design, working - with all the functions of a real sodamachine -almost..- -many options for flavor, many sodas of each flavor, and other neat deatails. many sodas O.o a mess of technic :3 another angle ~blueShinyApple [edit: added pics] Edited July 7, 2011 by blueShinyApple Quote
Fallenangel Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 I'll be honest - when I started playing the video and saw the tiny red machine, I thought you were trolling all of us. But to see the Technic monstrosity behind it! This is most impressive - I am very much awaiting pictures... Quote
ziljin Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Why are these things so popular? I notice a lot of soda and candy machines on youtube. Quote
Vindicare Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 (edited) I haven't watched the video yet, but that heap of technic blob, I don't even know how you came up with and built it. It does look pretty impressive. I'll give more insight once I see the video. So far, good job. Edit: Wow! Very cool contraption there. I almost hate to say it because that is so ingenious as is, but you forgot about the dollar insertion part. But, what you've done there is really something. I like how you have the color coordinated cans/buttons. So, I'd say you're about 99% accurate. If you just add a little slot to put dollars, I'd say you have it. Overall, npreally nice job. Nice work. Quote
