Mr Man Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Um, but this is clearly a design that would come just before the T-65, and the Z-95 precedes the ARC-170. If it was added, it would have to be a Dark Times fighter, ideally a prototype never mass produced so it would fit better into the T-65's backstory. Opps. I meant after the Headhunter. So ARC-170 - Z-95 - This prototype - T-65. I know the EU decides the Headhunter comes before the ARC but as it's not mentioned in cannon it can go anywhere and it looks like a better step between the ARC and X-wing. Quote

But the Z-95 still canonically comes before the ARC-170, whether it makes sense or not. For this prototype to be inserted in that arrangement would create even more problems. Besides, even if they did follow your timeline, they still couldn't put this prototype in CW since the ARC-170 is still the primary starfighter of the design in Sith. Quote

So they could put it in 'The Dark Times' than. Quote

Personally I would go with the explanation that Incom had had a prototype 'X-wing' with only four wings before the ARC-170 but scrapped it and came back to it later. If you ask me the split engines that would form a circular structure when closed bear a strong enough resemblance to certain variants of the Z-95 for that to work. Hey, that looks familiar... Quote

I guess once you introduce the word 'prototype', you can really stick it anywhere and make up a reasonable story for it.But either way, I believe we're straying off topic. Quote
