True, but hiatus would nevertheless surely mean the end for the ongoing Kingdoms subtheme. After the presumed Tolkien theme Castle would return with new sets, factions and designs. Not necessarily worse ones, but still I'm going to be very disappointed if Kingdoms, being one of the best Castle lines, is finished after just two waves. :sceptic: Hopefully things will turn out better and we'll get at least one more Kingdoms wave next year with Dragon Knight fortress, jousting and a civilian set or a few.

Also where is everyone getting the idea of a Hobbit theme? I don't see TLG ever doing a license on it. Seems a bit dreaming if you ask me, there might as well be a Avatar theme coming too.

Now as for a return of Batman, that is most welcome especially after what the past sets are selling for.

In the absence of fact, people fill the void with speculations and dreams.

Cwetqo apparently has some source, so I treat the theme as a possibility even if I'm not exactly convinced yet - I need some more concrete evindence before that.

There is enough material in the Hobbit book to make a whole range of sets, dragons, dwarves, elves, castles, mines and treasure plus whatever else Peter Jackson is going to put in that isn't actually in the story. All of the other LotR merchandise seems to have dried up so I can see it being a real possibility.

It would be really cool that LEGO produce a theme about ice age(not the movie).

There would be alot of cavemen, new animals like mammoths and smilodons, and new weapons...

If TLG continues with its Disney/Pixar license, there will almost certainly be a line of Brave sets. Based on what I've read so far about the film, I have high hopes for them.

I heard something about new Dino theme. Nothing more, just that, so it might be anything.

My son would love another Dino theme. Also added to what The Doctor said expect more Menis for the Star Wars theme as they will be releasing the Phantom Menace in 3D. I would expect to see more Return of the Jedi sets released to co-enside with the 30th anniversary.

Personally, I would love to see TLG taking Heroica beyond those few boadgames and making it their new Fantasy theme. Though a Hobbit license would be nice, too. It is still my favourite book and there are indeed tons of scenes that could be transformed into sets. But seeing that I don't really like what's been shown from the movie so far (most of the Dwarves look nothing like I would've imagined them), I don't know if the Minifigs would be to my taste.

Endor battlepacks for Star Wars would make sense and I would love to get my hands on a few of those, if the composition is ok. I had hoped for another clone battle pack, but I guess we have to wait for that until the switch to Phase II armour in the TV-series. I hope TLG makes a few sets based on the Old Republic game at some time in the future, I'm a big fan of the Expanded Universe, and I think the launch of the game would be a great opportunity for this kind of venture.

Hello!

I want more sets (CITY, CREATOR, Technic) with accessible price and with more more construction techniques! ,like biggest sets, modular sets, and exclusive sets! The sets will have medium price and pieces, but not be so simple, as I said :sceptic: ... This is my personal opinion. :sweet:

Sorry for my english!

Well, certainly some Star Wars, City (Hopefully construction), Creator, TECHNIC, etc. I'm hoping they continue Alien Conquest (ADU base PLEEASSE), and Pharaohs Quest. POTC will probably continue. I imagine Kingdoms will continue at least for next year, not likely past 2012 though. I doubt Cars will last into next year. And they might get a new license perhaps (Doctor Who?)

And then there's this. Personally, this looks promising!

(Taken from here)

So, it's likely the ninja will face lizardmen the next year, then. They'd be a great addition to the LEGO fantasy lore. Maybe we'll even see the return of the green ninja?

Hopefully 2012 will be a great year for Lego City as it's unlikely there will be any fire and police sets. Rumours of the hospital line don't surprise me and hopefully ths will look good and contain plenty of civilian figures needing medical attention. I am really hoping that there will be some sort of zoo line or wildlife. Seems a shame for Lego not to use the camel and ostrich from Prince of Persia. I've always wanted a Lego hippo too, which can be taken apart for the top of the head and body to appear as if wallowing in water.

I am sure there will be more collectible Minifigures. I'm enjoying the specialist parts for sports equipment so hopefully these will continue to appear with more musical instruments too.

I was pleased the Pharoah's Quest theme signalled a new Adventurers style line so hopefully something to add to these sets would be good, although hopefully more in line with the original Johnny Thunder theme.

The rumours of the 'girls' theme' are interesting too. I hope this is like Paradisa or at the very least, minifig compatible without overdosing on pink!

I don't really care for licensed themes much. The only one that might interest me is a Thunderbirds theme but it would probably be made with fleshies in which case I wouldn't bother but I expect the usual licenses will continue.

Looking at a picture of Cole ZX minifigure and just realized something... It won't take long before someone has assembled Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles as a minifigure. Cole ZX's headgear looks a lot like what Shredder wears...

Here are my predictions:

* Atlantis will be discontinued.

* Kingdoms will either be discontinued or introduce a new faction.

* Pharaohs Quest will continue, but under a different name to go with whatever setting they decide on.

* Harry Potter will be discontinued.

* POTC will either go on for another year or be discontinued and (hopefully) be replaced with regular Pirates.

* Alien Conquest will continue, but will probably only have a small wave.

* All other themes will continue.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make a prediction: 2012 will see the introduction of some ice-related theme. The reasoning for this is that, as of 2011, the only significant setting introduced during the "dark ages" of lego that has not seen a sucessor in the current age is the Arctic theme. Practically every other major non-licensed theme (Rock Raiders, Ninjas, Divers, Alpha Team, Adventurers, UFO) has returned in some form in the last five or six years, sometimes more than once. Still, this is really just a wild guess more than anything, so I'm not particularly betting on it.

That'd be awesome, especially if they did it in the style of Ice Planet 2002.

That would indeed be awesome, but since Alien Conquest is likely going to go on for at least another year, I doubt that we'll see a replacement Sci-Fi theme so soon. If released, this hypothetical ice theme would probably be tailored to replace Atlantis, which will almost certainly be discontinued next year and will leave a gap in TLC's "action themes." I imagine that it would feature lots of vehicles and some ice-related creatures to fight - either Yetis or frozen fossils come to live, or something else along those lines. Depending on what the villian is, they could set it either at one of the poles or in the mountains of some made-up country. Either way, I'd expect that we'd get great minifigs and at least somewhat outlandish vehicle designs, much like what we have gotten in themes like Atlantis, Ninjago, and Agents.

I hope for Kingdoms we get 2 new factions, since TLG likes using past factions again (Lion/Dragon Knights) and to to draw from the Fantasy Castle line which had two new factions as well, it would be cool to see Forestmen and Black Falcons as the new factions. The Forestmen could be neutral and the Black Falcons could either be allied with the Lion or Dragon Knights or separate.

For City yes rumors of a Hospital/Rescure comeback and for Civilian a Zoo/Wildlife subtheme are high. I really hope it is true :cry_happy:

A new arctic theme would be cool I hope they do it more explore/ real life instead of humans vs mutant creatures. They could for example have poachers or so catching seals/whales/penguins/fossils etc. And have an Arctic exploration team try and stop them etc. Some great new animal molds for the wildlife and other cool parts.
