CMP Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 This guy needs to do more research.... That is an amazing picture, though. Wouldn't want to be in the middle of that war.... Quote
K-Nut Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) Wow. Every FOL's dream collection! Edited January 26, 2012 by K-nut Quote
legomaniac83 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 ....So much so that he's erected a staggering 1,091 Lego sets, earning him the title of world champion. That's all!? I am only a few hundred away from this.....might have to attempt in the later years Quite the accomplishment though. I'm pretty sure my wife would disown me Quote
wokajablocka Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Over 1000 sets, that insane, but makes me jealous. I just checked mine and I'm up to 320 sets non duplicated. I'm sure I have more parted out but not including them. Looks like I have a long way to go. Next time my partner has a problem with my collection and spending on Lego I will direct here to this thread. Quote
Front Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 You own 738 sets (533 different) according to Brickset. And I haven't updated my registrations in brickset throughly the last year or so. Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I don't know if this is the same guy or not, but according to some LEGO set expert this guy holds the record. {photo} Captain Kyle Ugone isn't just a Navy bruiser—he's a man of finesse, and a lover of small plastic bricks. So much so that he's erected a staggering 1,091 Lego sets, earning him the title of world champion. According to American Forces Press Service, "Rooms in his Yuma home look as if they belong in a Lego Land theme park, containing hundreds of completed Lego sets separated by genre, such as space, trains, castles and 'Star Wars' sets, displayed on tables and shelves." You wouldn't think he'd have the time to do all of this while also being a Marine Corps Captain, but hey, the best and the brightest! Now what's he going to do? Destroy it all. His post-record move is extremely zen: "Ugone is slowly taking the sets apart for storage to regain some of the square footage in his home. He's taking a break from collecting Lego sets, planning instead to focus more of his attention on restoring a classic muscle car. DoD Congrats to Captain Ugone! Doesn't Huw from Brickset have almost 1900 sets, though? He should shoot for the world record! Quote
Marckeyh Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Good luck to the guy who's going for the record, but by reading all these replies, the record won't last long :) Quote
GeluNumber1 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Wow. I only have 431 sets. And less than 40 of those are complete. xD Still, it's cool to see that all of these hardcore collectors. I'm rooting for you! Quote
escortmad79 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) Wouldn't Lego themselves hold the record as they have one of every Lego product produced in their archive? Edited January 29, 2012 by escortmad79 Quote
Lego12 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Wouldn't Lego themselves hold the record as they have one of every Lego product produced in their archive? For most Lego sets, yes. This record is for one single individual while Lego itself collected those items with the help of many people; plus Lego isn't a person anyways. -Lego12 Quote
