Rhodes81 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 These are absolutely amazing! I wish LEGO would make a theme like this, but they'd never be able to match up to this much awesome. I love the color scheme of the Desert Stronghold Defense. Now, if only I could find the rest of my shattered ego haha yeah nothing like this forum to make your building skills seem incredibly inadequate Quote
Nuju Metru Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 Update: Siege of the Portal has been added - and, with that, the theme is fully uploaded! I'm currently in the process of uploading more detailed minifigure pictures, which will be accompanied by in-depth character descriptions, for those interested. Quote
Sandy Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Pure epicness, Nuju! Apart from the abundance of minifigs by today's standards, I still believe that all of these sets could be actual LEGO products - even though TLG will probably never produce anything this original. I'm loving the biggest set, Siege of the Portal. The architecture and the play features are just splendid, but I feel like it could be even larger somehow. On the other hand, there's something bothering me about the color scheme of the Tower Raid set. I know it's supposed to be the undead base, but somehow I feel it would've been more impressive in white rather than black. The base hints of an ice fortress, but the tower itself is a mishmash of black, dark grey and brown with some white bones, and in my opinion it doesn't look cohesive enough. But that's just my two cents. I love your original theme, and I love that you took the time to show it to us. Thank you! Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 These are really cool and they look like real sets, also are you John-Lennon on Brickshelf. Quote

Well, if it had been too big, then it wouldn't have really been a plausible set. Also, I didn't really have enough parts to have made it any larger without sacrificing the architecture's solidity. Hm, I see your point. Well, what I tried to do was take the normal color scheme for the undead (black, brown, dark grey, bone) and then plop a tower of those colors onto a different environment. I guess the rock colors didn't help to unify that color scheme. However, I disagree about the white - too much white is boring, and then all the nice bony details wouldn't have showed. Plus, again with the parts, white isn't a color I have plentiful castle parts in. These are really cool and they look like real sets, also are you John-Lennon on Brickshelf. Indeed I am! Quote
Sandy Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 However, I disagree about the white - too much white is boring, and then all the nice bony details wouldn't have showed. It's not boring if the white is accented by the other colors (grey, brown and transblue), and the bones may not have stood out that much, but they would've integrated to the whole building much better. If you want to, try it out some day when you have enough white pieces. Quote
Stormbringer Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 This is INCREDIBLE! Absolutely stunning (and not to mention long). I've seen some of your work on Brickshelf, but had no idea that your story surrounding them and your universe could be so deep and realistic. As a fellow dragon builder I am dazzled and impressed by your building techniques, so simple and yet smashing good. I also particularly like your working weapons that shoot projectiles and nets. Brings back memories good the ole Lego sets... I hope to see more of your work. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 You keep adding some great sets with wonderful and creative ideas. This is a top rate series. I imagine you must be very proud of your work. Quote

I'm glad that the extended, minimal thinking I've done about it showed here. Thanks for the praise! You keep adding some great sets with wonderful and creative ideas. This is a top rate series. Alex the Great Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Very creative theme you've made! I'm not the biggest fan of the skellies, but I'm really loving the trolls and human factions. My favourite set is the desert stronghold defense; because it looks cool. But all the sets are nice and very playable, I would love to see them made from TLG. Keep it up! Quote

The link to the Minifigure Gallery has been added (at last) to the first post, if anyone is interested. Found within are closer looks and descriptions of the characters in the series. Quote
