Since it says "connection refused", I think it's probably fixed and should be back up soon. Chickens should be fixed pretty easily in comparison to, say, spawning giant objects.

I'm fine with going into exile if I've ruined your afternoons.

Server's back on but it seems everyone is deopped? Bukkit recommended build is out too.

I've added the (unfinished) new map for everyone to have a peek at. I've still got some roads to add, and some buildings to put in but that's pretty much it. I've still got to set up mods and the like yet but we're almost there.

It's been quiet lately.

Anyway, nice map! The spawn island is a bit too mountainous though, I was thinking a small flat area would have been easier to navigate around.

I haven't been doing too much recently, I just built a small bridge and modified some stuff.

Also, we need a messageboard and a rule board. I tried building in the spawn island but there's some permissions problem or something.

Actually, I think the map's almost finished now.

So far, the only commands that seem to work for me are time, weather, warp and home commands.

Also - is there any way to be put into Creative mode? I think it could help tremendously when building large-scale things.

There is normally a command to do that yourself, which is /gamemode, but I think permissions is blocking it for some reason.

Also, there's a slight problem with bedrock. Placing it yields some random text (I assume it's used as a tool) and you can't change blocks into bedrock either. Is there any way to fix this?

Well, I've finally started building proper stuff, for the first time in ages. I have three buildings so far in somewhat odd locations. I'll move them whenever I've found a good place for them.

There are quite a few possibilities for that, I think.

It would probably be hard to determine exactly what is the problem, but "end of stream" usually means a connection problem, if I'm not wrong.

I don't think it's a server issue. It's working fine for me, and I've seen various people online with no connection problems. You may need to check your internet or something.

Also, sometimes when servers are offline or have errors the message will come up, though that's probably not the problem here.

if I start my MC client, and I click multiplayer, it shows all servers I've added and their player count. Also the EB server is there. It alos shows the player count, but when I try to connect, It says end of stream and if I go back to multiplayer, it says "connection error" at the EB server. But when I restart my clien, it shows the player count again

Interesting, that sounds like what normally happens when the server's down, though it definitely isn't.

How long does it take for "end of stream" to appear? Sometimes it's just a connection timeout error, or it could be some type of connection blocker.

One example is if you go on a server and sleep your computer. Even if it's for a split second, often you'll get the error because the connection is interrupted. Doesn't really solve your problem, but that's all I really know about the error.

Only Pinioncorp's able to do that, but nice to know the server's working for you.

I kind of feel like the server's customer support, especially when new people log on and can't warp.

Hey, my Minecraft name is _Flipz_, I'd like to be able to come in and wander around.

Is the server running the beta version of Bukkit for 1.0, are you running vanilla Minecraft 1.0, or are you still on Beta 1.8? I'm running 1.0 and forgot to backup my 1.8 so if you're still waiting for Bukkit it may be a while before i can play.

Here's the situation:

Bukkit is running fine, with the new map. I do have a whole heap of schematics from the old map to put in if requested. The map is basically a creative mode style, as there's no mining necessary for resources.

I'd like to open the server up to the general public, but I will need moderators on at all times, as I don't want our creations being griefed. I've considered "towny", but unfortunately it doesn't meet my needs, so we would have to use WorldGuard to protect our areas, which also isn't ideal. I've put a lot of time and effort into this map, but restrictions in mods available, memory on the server and playercount make it rather difficult to set it up the way it was intended.

So everyone, do I just start a survival map? The way I would do it is have a town around the spawn area for us to build in and the randoms can build whatever they like, wherever else. The only downside to this (for me) is the loss of height in the map, and some of our creations won't actually fit.
