Lance Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Only a couple of hours left untill Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition is relesed for those ofyou who are interested Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Ooh, I've been wondering- is there anyone on here who follows Jeb's 'snapshot' pre-releases? If so, what's your opinion on the recent SSP/SMP merge? For me it's nuetral- while I can see it has numerous benefits, running a server whenever I play will melt my laptop. Quote
pinioncorp Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Truly, it makes sense. It's not that much more CPU intensive, as your PC has to do most of it anyway. Quote
Cutty Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 So, it's time to reveal myself as a Minecraft-er, also! ;-) Sadly I have no real multiplayer achievements to show around as I mostly play singleplayer all by myself (hopefully the upcoming updates will ameliorate this a bit...). BUT! I did participate in the still running "You are Minecraft" project. So as an introductory post in this thread I'd like to give you some impressions of what I did there. Hope you like it ^^ Be well! Cutty Quote

I actually am quite happy for this, it will make co-op Let's Plays MUCH easier to do. Quote

Sisco Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 It runs 120% better than my PC ever thought about running it. It's on the 1.7.3 Beta version, so no hunger. Just Minecraft, plain and simple. Definitely worth the 20 bucks. Quote
Lieutenant_Colonel_Fifi Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Hello all. Fifi here. I recently posted some of my feelings towards the "Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by 'rabid fandoms'" thread, becuase I felt that the OP was insulting the fanbase (not fandom) of Minecraft, and I don't stand for it. Then, I got told by a mod not to talk about it, and I stated I was bringing up my side of the argument. Then I promptly decided to take leave of the thread before my anger towards the mod got the better of me. Anyway, that's the story of how this thread came about. But what is the Lego fanbase's opinion towards Minecraft, and all 6,469,443 of its fans! (Well those are just the people that have bought the game, not registered users, which is somewhere past 33 million. And by the way, if you put negative comments towards this game, be prepared for either some flak from the other fans or me. -Fifi Quote
Horry Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I don't see why there must be any "flak" or anger for that matter on this theme. It's a game and LEGO is a toy - those things are made to entertain people, not to get into heated debates. I have strong feelings about some of the themes that TLG has produced over the years and some of them are not very positive - I would not care to debate them here as this is a place to discuss LEGO and MOCs, not to get enraged... On topic: I have played Minecraft for a bit and I did not really enjoy it. I admire the stuff that people have done with Minecraft but to me it's more like doing something in LDD - if you can build it with real bricks that clutter your floor all the time then it's much more fun Quote
Hive Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I think it's pretty much the worst LEGO set I have ever seen. But eh, to each his own. If LEGO can make money from it, then good for them. Quote
Duck Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I recently got into minecraft after resisting for some time. I like the game, but at the same time do tend to feel like I'm wasting my life playing it as for all the impressiveness that I put into my creations, I know fully well that no one else is going to pay a huge amount of attention as their generally too busy concentrating on their own projects! I do enjoy a spot of roleplay and have been playing on the "Dragonsreach" server, which I've enjoyed as it started at the same time I started playing, but then the admin declared that the buildings on the server werent good enough and restarted it... So that all feels a bit pointless now. I also tried "Lord of the Craft" in the hope of finding roleplay as its such a packed server, but I found the "levels" restrictive. Minecraft is a fantastic game and concept - its just the lack of depth that gets me. Quote

Bold lettering - You do realize I was trying to bring up an issue I have with the thread I mentioned, and why I believe it should be taken down due to me taking offense to things said there. Italiacs - I'm not going to be rude when I mean flak, I'm just saying that if you put negative comments towards me or the game, I will defend myself or the game. Quote

The EB staff try to make this forum an enjoyable place for everyone. EB is primarily a place for discussing LEGO and, while we do allow some other discussion in the Community and Culture & Multimedia forums, if you want to discuss Minecraft (or "defend" as you call it), you probably want to do that somewhere else. Also, as you can read in the Site Guidelines (linked to in my signature), any staff decisions are final and should not be debated in thread (as that will just steer the thread further off-topic). If you have a problem with decisions taken, feel free to PM the staff member involved. You have been warned repeatedly in the Cuusoo thread and here. Consider this your final warning. Quote

King of Nynrah Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 *bump* I don't think this post is breaking revival guidelines - if it is I'm sorry, and feel free to correct me. I just didn't see another Minecraft topic to post in and wasn't sure if I should start another one. Is anyone looking forward to Minecraft 1.3, to be released in two days' time? I am - Desert and Jungle Temples, Ender Chests, and Emeralds! Quote
Sam892 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I got minecraft Xbox 360 edition about 2 weeks after it came out and I have to say that I was amazed. When I first heard of minecraft I didn't think much to it or the people who constantly went on about it. After playing it however it has quickly become one of my favourite games and I have completely changed. Its so much fun playing with 4 other friends and I easily lose hours of my nights on it. I just hope that it's updated with all the PC stuff and also gets more achievements added, as I have them all and it's fun as a team to set out and get them together. Quote
Flipz Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) I'm between servers now. I used to play on a server with a bunch of friends from various LEGO fan sites, but two server restarts, trolling ops and admins, an obnoxious money system, and a complete theft-grief of my home base later and I decided I was done with it. If anyone knows of a good server with a Eurobricks-quality community, please PM me! I'm sort of displeased with the idea of the 1.3 update; sure, there are a lot of things in there that I've been waiting for, but somewhere along the way I lost my enthusiasm for the update for some reason, I'm not entirely sure why. Part of it might have to do with the HORRID performance issues the SSP/SMP merge causes on my system. That said, I'm tossing around the idea of making a Complete-The-Monument style Survival map at some point, provided I can come up with some decent ideas. Edited July 31, 2012 by Flipz Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I am looking forward to the next update, NPC villages have a use and cookies are easier to get. Also there are a few nice cosmetic changes such as being able to please wooden logs on their side and a few stair changes. Experience from mining will be quite good and the SMPSSPmerge will be vital for modding api. T the moment I am Useing the technic launcher a lot because the mods in it are so fun. Quote

It's almost too bad how easy cookies are easy to get. They used to be something to show off, considering how hard they were to get. But now, they are quite easy to get, and of course, they suck for eating. Quote
Souperlizard Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I know this post will be buried, but I want to say that I do indeed play Minecraft! It seems to me that seeing as both Minecraft and Lego rely mainly on building, people wind up enjoying both. Sadly, I do not own the PC version, but frequently play Pocket Edition as well as 360 edition. If you are a Redditor as well, you may know me as a main mod on r/MCPE (MineCraft Pocket Edition). Quote
King of Nynrah Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The changes to the Golden Apple are quite interesting - the standard one is now quite easy to craft while the enchanted one is a lot harder. I haven't got round to it yet. Quote
pluto7443 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I like the 1.3.1 enchanting system most of the time, but not when it gives me a smite III diamond sword on a level 30. Quote
