IMO, the Royal Knights are the golden age of Lego Castle themes - or is it just so nostalgic for me?

The Royal Knights weren't really the golden age of Lego Castle, they were more like the last great theme of the golden age.

I chose wolf people. I never had any of their sets but they always seems so misterious to me wich is very cool

People: Black falcons, crusaders and forrestmen are all legoland!! I don't know why brickset has the classification like this. but that's why oo7 didn't include them (i think :) )

Wow, my bump in disguise worked alot better than I expected. :-P

Mine is Forestmen, so I couldn't vote. :)

Do you have a second favorite? I didn't include forestman becuase they aren't originized like a medieval monarchry and they have forts, not castles. They are independant wild men, bad for a society according to Feudalism, etc.

that doesn't seem like a very good reason for not including them in the poll :-/ so why wolfpack or dark forest. if you would have said that they are included in LEGOLAND then i can accept that.

BTW, i can't believe dark forest is doing so well !!! yes, the minifigs rock... but well designed figs and sets only go so far with some people. i mean, they aren't classic... so. ;-)

Hmm, yeah I think you're right about the Dark Forest (wait, there are only three sets?!?), but I guess it's too late now include forestmen in CC as 34 people have already voted out of the choices above.......

this is interesting. i just tested castle sets on my son. and i gotta say the AFOL much hated kk2 is his favorite. i guess all that action TLG designed was right on for a kid. they do like action over static sets. he also likes the colorful jellybeans over the dark grey armors/minifigs. i guess that might be a shocker to afols... :-/ 8-

NOOOoooo! I weep for future generations; especially your sun, natelite. ;-) How can this be? Is he underexposed to medieval history/movies? Does he have deep affections for video games? What

KK2 isn't so bad as people say. It certainly sells well so there must be something to it. Though some people don't like the monocolored knights from the first year of it I don't mind them at all. They allow for more fantasy in the castle world. Perhaps they are the elaborately painted honor guard for the king, or an astroid crash landed and when mixed with iron produced a special red metal that is very light and hard. Realistic they are not but neither are the nearly six foot long silver broadswords.

Life is realism enough for me, when I sit down with my hobby I want to get away from the tedious and stressful. Let my mind imagine and dream up new ideas. Peeling away the stress of a day so when my alarm goes off and I look out my window at the rising sun I can appreciate the real more.

Oh, and Black Knights are DUMB! :-D X-D Ninja and Wolfpack RULE! ;-)

*sits in a corner, crying for some hours. Then uses his Black Knights army to kill all Wolpack solodiers and Ninja.*

oh... 8-| jelly bean over speckled. :-$

what's interesting (or worrisome) is that he plays piking with the minifigs. ie remove the head, remove the helmet and armor and put the helmet/armor through the pike. and some of the heads end up on the pikes. yikes!!! i'll take pictures of some of his gruesome creation. :-P

i'm sure it is completely innocent... ** omen soundtrack playing in the background **

Heh, if that's how he enjoys treating the jellybeans then I have no argument. ;-) What does he think of Vladek and his mesmerized minions?

Clasic castle all the way. Although, admitedly, I have none of the sets from that theme (I wan't even born! X-D ), they were the ones that started it all, and they are winners just for their apealing simplicity. I hope lego continues to inprove their Knights Kindom sets, as they are slowly becoming more like the sets of the old. ;-)

My #1 castle theme is black falcon (I have about 70 in my collection).

Second are the crusaders.

Since these are not in the list I voted for the black knights.

hi, i got royal knight's castle 6090 just last week. what i don't get is why fans of royal knights think this castle is better than 8877? i got both and i can't really say which is better. i kinda like 8877 since the castle sections are more accessible. 6090 has a very small throne room and the dungeon and pitfalls are small too, which means my son is prone to destroy bits of the castle when trying to play.

i like to try my hands on a few other classic sets like 6080, 6085 or 6076, but before i try to outbid gylman i thought i should ask just in case i ever think of getting my investment back. ;-)
