SkaForHire Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 So as many of you know i had some trouble a couple weeks ago on ebay with a lady who would not send me my package even though i had already paid her! well after a week the standoff was over, and she sent me my lego. i was out of town this weekend, so my brother had brought the package home. I arive home tonight 1:00am and find a huge box of legos! im like, right on! I open it and i immediately notice a couple things... first MINIFIGS! all together 10 imperials, 20 pirates, 5 really old castle, 7 or 8 ice planet/m-tron/blacktron figs and a couple wolfpack figs... I am like, sweet! 10 imperials! yes! the next thing i know, which had not been stated in the auction but i had a hunch there might be one in there, a complete Imperial flagship. Also the next thing i found was two complete raft raiders sets! also mentionable, a set of sealed blacktron landing strip baseplates...i have NO CLUE what i will do with those, any suggestions... Then my find got ugly.... first of all, what is worse then getting used lego from a smoking household? getting used lego from a weed smoking household... the lego in this package stinks to high hell and is now all sitting in many tubs of watter and dish soap... even the sails for IF and RR.... YUCK! But it gets worse my friends! as i was getting to the bottom of the 12 lbs box of treasure i start to notice some sort of white powdery substanch on the legos... at first i thought, ANTHRAX! then i calmed down and realized that they could totally be traced... besides this look like it fell in at the last moment and shifted to the bottom of the box... so can you guess what the white powder was? (or at least what i assume it is after doing some research on the web?) Thats right.... Cocaine! WTF! um so this is a nightmare.... i went out and dumped it in the lake and threw the box out... GROSS! some people need to keep their habbits away from lego... HAHA SO that prompts me to ask, what is the worst find you have found when buying used lego? Quote
Berry Syedow Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Sweet Moses, that is disgusting! What an awful nightmare. *slowly shakes head* That has to be the worst LEGO deal, period. Best of luck getting that smell out of the pieces. :-/ I Quote
texas_jack_can Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I have never had a bad experence with buying used lego, but if I ever do, I hope it isn't as bad as what happened to you. That is just down right wrong. On the other hand, great bonus with the extra minifigs, hopefully the smell will come out soon though. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 7, 2006 Governor Posted August 7, 2006 first MINIFIGS! all together 10 imperials, 20 pirates, 5 really old castle, 7 or 8 ice planet/m-tron/blacktron figs and a couple wolfpack figs... Just to deviate from your question, I'm wondering if you dumped the box with or without the LEGO in it? I'm assuming without, but from now on your LEGO could give you a high like you've never experience before! Quote
El Bucanero Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 My worst find was a Imperial soldier hat with bite marks..... Yuck thats a real nightmare! I probarly won't by from eBay for a while.... bah :-X Quote
snefroe Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 hm... i usually respond to good or bad ebay deals with "you really never know what you'll get, you just have to be lucky and hope you get the things you were hoping for", but in this case... i don't mind the cigarette smoke;, sure, it's a pain, but lots of soap and water will help you there... the powder...g... shall we assume the seller got megablocked at you and wanted to have his/her revenge? did it leave any effect on your bricks, btw? Quote
Jipay Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I doubt it was cocaine, seriously, nobody drops cocaine in a lego box, each gram is really expensive. Or maybe this one was sniffing on bricks :-P Quote
highlandcattle Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I doubt it was cocaine, seriously, nobody drops cocaine in a lego box, each gram is really expensive. Or maybe this one was sniffing on bricks :-P Why would you throw away cocaine?? It's the best drug ever! I also doubt that it was cocaine, because it's very expensive indeed 50 euro for a gram or something like that. It probably was powdered sugar Quote
Jipay Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 or washing pouder... Just think that most lego are stored in boxes next to the washing machine. Or maybe cocaine cut with some washing powder ? ^^ Quote
Kahgarak Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Does anyone remember the bullets found in an Onua Nuva canister? Quote
natelite Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 i stopped buying used from ebay. way too unpredictable to my likings. i bought like about 5 times of used bulk purchases and was very disappointed with my purchase. since then i stopped buying. i still bid on some used sets but not bulk. and only if the listing said non-smoking, no pet homes. haven't won any so far. :-/ Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 7, 2006 Governor Posted August 7, 2006 I have purchased tonnes and tonnes of LEGO of eBay and the worst I've have so far is some dusty, faded, yellowed or chewed parts and that's it! Mr SkaForHire, can I ask which part of the world you recieved this package from? Quote
Evil Willy Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Worst this for me...Two little things, bought the Imperial outpost is it? And the white was yellowish, the clips didn't hold the flag up, and it was covered in dust. Another which turned out good was the buying of a minifig, bad condition, only to end up having it replaced with two nicer ones :D Quote
Scouty Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Hmmm, i guess i have never had a problem with bad legos. the wprst is missing pieces. But the seller replaced:) i was happy :). Quote
SkaForHire Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 Hmmm, i guess i have never had a problem with bad legos. the wprst is missing pieces. But the seller replaced:) i was happy :). well i lied about one thing, i didnt research cocaine on the internet, i know what it looks like (a long time ago hehehe) it was cut with something... i am not sure what. But there was not TONNES in it.. it was a couple ounzes though i would estimate.... and yes phes i kept the lego... they are sitting in many mixing bowls full of water and dish soap.... i just rescued the figs and they are drying now... The person was from texas, but urban TX, she sounded like a crackhead when i had to talk to her for a week about her finally shipping the damn things, maybe she really was.... oh well. the question is should i give her positive feedback for the special suprise! LMAO on another note, i blind bought another 15 lbs of lego/megablocks (and a nother clone which WASN'T mentioned in the auction...) i am more disapointed with the pieces in this one as they are mostly pieces from soccer sets and snowboard sets.... oh well thats what i get... but 2 bucks a lb of lego is good rate.... so i had to do it. Quote
Scouty Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I would leave at least a neutral, for smokey lego, unless she said it came from a smokey home? Not sure what the substance was? Well, i'd not assume without further investigation. If you had kept it, you could take to police to check wether it was a drug or other substance. Quote
john cleese Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 well i recently bought a massive collection of picked parts from bricklink from toy brick brigade. The boxes smelt horrible like mold as did the lego. Some pieces also had chocalate smudged on them so i had to clean every single piece with a tooth brush and dishsoap in a caulander. While doing so i discovered some very discoulored parts like a 1x6 blue arch piece which was the most discoulred piece in the lot. Some pieces still were chewed and chipped. But i mean what can you expect? ALso im going to complain about a few and hopefully get replacements. Quote

El Bucanero Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Hehe I always try too buy new items from bricklink, fortunatly, there are lots of new hull pieces and cannons Quote
natelite Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 toy brick brigade sucks. i have badly faded prints and missing parts. complained and said they will ship replacement. replacement never came...it's 3-4 months already. i'm not going to hold my breath. Quote
Scouty Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I ordered from them a while ago. Got a lego AT-AT. the box was squished :-(. But that was the worst from him i ever got. Quote
SkaForHire Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Hehe I always try too buy new items from bricklink, fortunatly, there are lots of new hull pieces and cannons If you are in the same country as people selling, then its cheep... but since it seems almost everyone with a good amount of cannons / hulls that are on bricklink are from europe.... so shipping to the states is evily steep. I really need some more cannons though. Quote
TalonCard Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I won a Rock Island Refuge on Ebay recently (Great find!), and have been having trouble getting it. First the guy accidentally declined my PayPal payment because he didn't know how to use it, and now he apparently misplaced the baseplate in a move and is attempting to locate it...sigh. I'm hoping it won't turn into a horrible find. If/when it actually gets here all will be forgiven, of course, but there has got to be a better way to sell on Ebay. If I were selling Legos, I'd make darn sure that I'd clean all the bricks, take pictures, and have them ready to go as soon as the payment went through. TC Quote

Would've got your money back XD No, seriously, the whole thing sounds just awful :/ Quote

Really? I made an order with them a while ago, and everything was in great condition, and everything was there. As for your order Skaforhire, it sounds really bad. I hope everything turns out ok in the end. :-/ Quote
