Posted July 10, 201113 yr Hi, I'm new to Eurobricks and I joined because I have been wondering if people want another Hogwarts add-on. In my opinion the last two sets have been amazing, but would you rather have a new focus i.e. the Ministry for magic? OR would you rather see more rooms (and hopefully more new minifigures) for a Hogwarts? If so for the latter, what rooms would you like and most importantly, what minifigures??? Thanks :P
July 10, 201113 yr I've always seen the Harry Potter line as a strange case in regard to settings for sets. Whereas with any other licenced line (and even nonlicenced ones, especially Adventurers and similar) I'd greatly prefer a wider variety of settings, with Potter I instead find myself much more interested in sets based around Hogwarts and its grounds, largely owing to its status as the focal setting for the franchise and how interesting a setting it was demonstrated to be in both book and film compared to everywhere else. Indeed, I don't even tire of multiple large sets named "Hogwarts Castle" - with Hogwarts so vast yet undefined and open-ended as it is, filling in the blanks with more sets to create an even larger Hogwarts is one of the things I thoroughly enjoyed about the line, and it helps that the large "Hogwarts Castle" sets can be used to wrap around and constitute the exterior and are all quite different anyway. LEGO's promotional inserts for the Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets ranges, where they showed off multiple sets connected and arranged together to make a greater whole, are probably to blame for the mentality I developed around the theme, and I found it quite disappointing that later iterations of the Potter theme shied away from that approach. As for specific wants, I remain highly disappointed that there has not been a decent Room of Requirement. I can see how it may be difficult to pull off, but come on, this is LEGO we're talking about here - I'm confident they could do it. With sequences of importance taking place there across the last three books, it's a bit of a missed opportunity, one I hoped to see rectified for the Deathly Hallows Part 2 sets. Also, not connected to any specific desired location, I shall eternally mourn the absence of a Tonks minifig and Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff robes.

To me, the Harry Potter series should be mainly focused on Hogwarts. I am a fan of other areas however in my opinion, only Hogwarts has that proper playability factor. What with *SPOILER ALERT* the Battle of Hogwarts in the final book/film, I feel that there should be a multiple amount of rooms, all of which should allow the player to have multiple stories, whether or not it is the battle or trying to re-create iconic moments from the story. Hence the reason I like the highly criticised empty room in the newer Hogwarts. It gives the possibility for it to be a dueling area of a corridor or whatever. But for the moment, I've left it blank. I would personally love a greenhouse and another building similar to the Headmaster's office in October's set with the potions classroom and hospital wing as another add-on. It would also be nice to have another tower with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff common rooms and another classroom in the middle. But these are my opinions and are based on my love for Hogwarts. Like you,I am desparate for a Tonks and I'd love a Kingsely. Whether or not they could be incorperated into a Hogwarts set would remain to be seen, and would probably come out in a Grimmauld place set instead (if thats ever made). I would also love a Fred and George again in another set only because I haven't got the Diagon Alley and wouldn't spend that much money on a set.
July 13, 201113 yr Well, I'd have to half-agree. While Hogwarts is and should be the main focal point of sets, Hogsmeade, the Ministry, etc are generally very wanted among LEGO Harry Potter collectors. If they can balance it out, though, there's probably a scene from each movie they could form into an add-on. The challenges in Sorceror's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and the list goes on.
July 13, 201113 yr Personally, I would love several more add-ons (classrooms, dorms, house rooms, bathrooms, offices, the challenges from Sorcerer's Stone as mentioned above, a greenhouse, you name it!. The story's main setting is Hogwarts after all. How ever, I'd like another Diagon Alley set to, or a Hogsmeade set, but that's another story. Edited July 13, 201113 yr by Parrothead Rasmus
July 13, 201113 yr I like the idea of Hogwarts additions. They're like the Lego equivalent of an expansion pack. I'd like to see more classrooms and more detailed dormitories. I would love it if they would release a Hogsmeade set though and would certainly love to see an addition to the Diagon Alley set. I'd actually like to see Privet Drive and the Dursleys turned into sets as well.
July 13, 201113 yr Basically Lego have to work out with the film production house what to produce either to rekindle peoples interest in the theme or new product to promote a new film. Hogwarts, which should have still being called 'Battle For Hogwarts' because of it's SW style battle play feature....the breaking up bridge.....is the perfect addition to the castle from last year and if you feel it's still missing rooms.....MOC build them ! Keep on casting spells !
July 14, 201113 yr Personally I want some more Hogwarts stuff, but I think there are a lot more places that should be done also (Number 4 Pivet Drive, Grimmaund Place, the Ministry of Magic, etc). It would be really cool (Though LEGO won't do it of course) if they made sets of various rooms (And hallways and stairs and such) and built them in the style of the modular buildings (Rooms can be put together in different combinations using technic pins) with a bit of the outside of the castle on each room, so a person could buy all the sets and make a largeish Hogwarts.
July 14, 201113 yr 4 Privet Drive was released in an earlier HP wave, but I'd love to see an updated version, as well as Hogsmeade. But what I most want are some additional Hogwarts common rooms, because it is an absolute travesty - a travesty I tell you! - that there is still no Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff presence in the LEGO wizarding world.
July 15, 201113 yr I think the best add on they could do would be a chamber of secrets that sits under the Hogwarts set from 2010, similar to the 2002 version that did the same thing. We need a better Basilisk.
