January 30, 201213 yr A7000 almost finished LDD File (new) LDD File (open box) Details: Edited January 30, 201213 yr by PeterleB
January 30, 201213 yr awsome What does it actually do or what's it ment to be? I like attachment s that work with the pto and pneumatics!anyone built or seen a video of this?

January 31, 201213 yr What does it actually do or what's it ment to be? I like attachment s that work with the pto and pneumatics!anyone built or seen a video of this? Not really finished. The suction hoses are not good representable in LDD. The sweeper part I still have to create. 05.01.2012 The sweeper LDD File Edited February 5, 201213 yr by PeterleB
January 31, 201213 yr Look forward to seeing ur sweeper as this is something I'd like to build, the only problem is getting brushes big enough as them small blue one don't look great!
February 1, 201213 yr look at the brushes works at JunkstyleGio MOC. Not real life brushes tho , there just axles!
February 2, 201213 yr I finally finished my MOC for the Unimog U400, and made the video of it in use last night. I was playing with the idea of making a pneumatic scissor lift for a while, after several experiments I came up with a working solution you can see below. It uses two pneumatic cylinders, powered by the compressor of the Unimog. I went ahead and created an outriggers attachment that can be attached to the front or the back just like other Unimog attachments, roughly inspired by the red outriggers on the Unimog crane that comes with the set. The Unimog really needs some permanent outriggers in my opinion, maybe that will be my next project. The main difficulty being the lack of space just behind the cab (where the outriggers normally are). Some future ideas/improvements that I'm playing with are: * making the scissor lift pneumatics controllable from a switch on the platform itself as well as from below. (I made a rough sketch): * making the platform extendable, either by using pneumatics or LAs. * making the platform rotate, using the rear PTO. and here's my video on youtube: let me know what you think! February 2, 201213 yr @ The talented musician Thelonious Monk: I like your pneumatic platform -- it could be used to inspect the underside of bridge overpasses. Edited February 2, 201213 yr by DLuders

See my edited post http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57543&view=findpost&p=1188750 and this: Final LDD file Edited February 5, 201213 yr by PeterleB
February 5, 201213 yr Wow the final render looks really cool. Can someone build it?! And how do the bristles attach to the disc? tim
February 5, 201213 yr Looks great, but I think, that the brushes will not work. Caused by the using of 3 universal joints without any bearing... Max

February 6, 201213 yr I've been away from my Technics lego far too long & am finally getting back into it with the purchase of the 8110 & the 8043 Excavator sets. There are some great MOC's / mods in this thread. I hope this doesn't sound too pushy or rude or anything, but I wish more people had the time & inclination to post instructions for their modifications. I know that peoples time is precious, but it would be a great way to learn & expand the pool of engineering knowledge if people would be more willing to share these great ideas. I hope to be able to contribute my efforts at some point.
February 7, 201213 yr @ craigey: Welcome to Eurobricks! If you look at the various MOCs posted on Rebrickable, you will keep VERY BUSY. All of them have Building Instructions and Parts Lists.
February 7, 201213 yr A TRULY great way to learn is to try and reverse engineer MOCs from photos alone, that gives a deeper understanding and it's really not that hard (but a brain database of available parts helps a lot).
February 7, 201213 yr Thanks guys. Perhaps some reverse engineering is in order. I've already had a good look through rebrickable & am intending on using the guide by 'Jurgen Krooshoop' to modify the Excavator. I also have an idea about using a subframe for the 3 way tilt on the unimog, so that it isn't necessary to remove pins manually to change the direction of the tilt. (I noticed the pins after looking up some of the pics). At some point in the future I'm planning to build crowkiller's Vampire GT. just got to order parts, but am looking to make it RC, so may need to adjust the height / depth. Anyway I'll let you all get back to the unimog posts.
February 7, 201213 yr @ timr @ mmr1988 Only the axle and the technic lever are rotating, the brushes itself not. Yes, I know. But try to build this combination of the Universal Joints. It will not work. Just do a simple mechanic thinking: You have 3 Joints and 2 bearings. You can see, that this equation won't have a solution. It will fall to the front or to the back, but it will not stay in this position. Max

Max He can use just two U-Joints per side if he move the top ones more to the sides of the truck, until they can connect to the lower ones by corect angle. The middle U-Joints are not needed then.
February 7, 201213 yr He can use just two U-Joints per side if he move the top ones more to the sides of the truck, until they can connect to the lower ones by corect angle. The middle U-Joints are not needed then. That's true. But I'm not sure about the angle. Maybe it won't work, because one angle is more then 50 degrees, if you use only two joints. Nevertheless, you will have the problem that the ingoing and outgoing rotation speed have not the same value, if you use different angles for both UV-joints (OK this isn't a problem here). Another thing: In the real world the angle don't exceed 20-25 degrees for one UV-joint... Except of this one thing I really like this model. Max
February 7, 201213 yr That's true. But I'm not sure about the angle. Maybe it won't work, because one angle is more then 50 degrees, if you use only two joints. Not if he moves top U-Joint toward the side of the truck, just by placing longer axle in between top-most UJoints, so they can form 45 degrees angle with lower UJoints.
