March 3, 201212 yr I also have an airtank on order. I assume that will help make the pneumatics work better? It wont necessarily make the pneumatics work better. what it will do is increase the capacity of the system so that you can change the switches more frequently without having to pump more air. tim
March 3, 201212 yr @ Dr.Spock: I got my air tank last week. The pneumatic is working now much calmer and wenn the pump is switched off, i have some reserves. The airtank is mounted above the rear wheel suspension. have fun! ... regards - brathendel
March 3, 201212 yr @allanp: why would you use only one pump with an air tank? Whoops, I meant to say that I would NOT use an airtank with only one pump
March 3, 201212 yr @allanp: ah, OK... I added a second pump to my Mog in combination with an air tank the pneumatic function work really well!
March 3, 201212 yr Do not use a air tank with only one pump. @allanp: ah, OK... I added a second pump to my Mog in combination with an air tank the pneumatic function work really well! Well i guess that is ok then.
March 3, 201212 yr next to the first... Just changed little things... ok... i will try it. lets look to the result...
March 4, 201212 yr Next challenge, make it possible to tilt to both sides! Thats easy, you mount the lift cylinder to the center of the box hinge it at both sides, If you have ever seen a side dump rail road car, thats how they change what side of the car it dumps on, they have locks on both sides, choose what side to dump and unlock the other side. cylinder, raises from a central point, would be a easy mod. March 4, 201212 yr Today we had a meeting with LowLug. There were 6 modified Unimogs present. From Left to right: Fire Fighter by VFracingteam Black Edition by VFracingteam Yellow Streetsweeper by JunkstyleGio Forklifter version by Jim 8x8 LogLoader by Pelikaan Blue RailRoad by Barman. March 4, 201212 yr Any more of the 8x8 log loader and fork lift? I made a log frame yesterday for my hook lift trailer. I only have enough 2x2 brown cylinders for one skinny log. For the record, the 9397 only comes with one log too. Here my newest attachment... Tim Nice. I saw a video somewhere of a Unimog cleaning road posts with the same type of brush attachment
March 5, 201212 yr Well I had some quality Lego Technic time so I roughed out some ideas. First some center detail pictures. I'm still tweaking it, but it works. The last 2 picture show how the compressor attach. The backhoe v3. I reused the crane outriggers, outriggers are on my to do list. This version works much better and is balanced. It's fully IR and independent of the Unimog. The bucket is what I have available right now. Slew is a bit to fast I have to adjust it with a worm gear. A mounted chipper, it's driven by the PTO, no it doesn't chip anything. It has a support and the chute is manually rotated Fork lift inspired by dr_spock. PPTO adjusts the angle, the fork spacing is manually adjustable, and lock into position. A Rotary Snowblower, untested, still rough but I want to see if it will work before I put more into it. It's driven off the PTO right now. I may get a dedicated XL for it. The tracked Unimog has cleats, first snow it couldn't grip, the next was too fluff and it sank but the cleats helped. Now it probably won't snow again.
