I think a 6x6 log loader would be great :)

@radar92 I like your wood chipper

I am now making a RC modifikation on the Unimog and I will make a bigger crane and a logloader like that from Pelikaan, nour 4x4^^

Here are the first pictures:

Well I had some quality Lego Technic time so I roughed out some ideas.

First some center detail pictures. I'm still tweaking it, but it works. The last 2 picture show how the compressor attach.

The backhoe v3.

I reused the crane outriggers, outriggers are on my to do list. This version works much better and is balanced. It's fully IR and independent of the Unimog. The bucket is what I have available right now. Slew is a bit to fast I have to adjust it with a worm gear.

A mounted chipper, it's driven by the PTO, no it doesn't chip anything. It has a support and the chute is manually rotated

Fork lift inspired by dr_spock. PPTO adjusts the angle, the fork spacing is manually adjustable, and lock into position.

A Rotary Snowblower, untested, still rough but I want to see if it will work before I put more into it. It's driven off the PTO right now. I may get a dedicated XL for it. The tracked Unimog has cleats, first snow it couldn't grip, the next was too fluff and it sank but the cleats helped. Now it probably won't snow again.

Great mods!:)

But i would really like to look at the tracks if you have a picture of them?

Ive been wanting to make 4 trackes instead of the wheels for the mog:)

That is awesome looking! It works really well to! Would you get more range of motion if you replaced the small cylinder with a large one?

tim

Today we had a meeting with LowLug.

There were 6 modified Unimogs present.

tim

Yes, the range is very limited... I will try the large cylinders. I took the small ones because of the look...

Tim

Hi,

to use a large cylinder was a good idea. The range is much better.

Here are some pics:

By the way. The Trailer got some changes, too.

Now I´m working with ldd to create some files. I´m not very confirmed with the program.

So it may take some time...

Tim

@Tim S: very nice pictures!!! I'm curious what kind of LDD's you'll post...

@Tim S.: I like your attachments... They could fit my little family quite well...

So far

@dr_spock: yes, it's an U20. Lego is kind of strange toy... It reproduces itself

Wow that works surprisingly well. nice job! Would you mind posting more detailed pictures?

tim

really nice tracks dr_spock!

Would like to see some more detailed pictures of them:)

I recently received some of those small sprockets from Lego Direct but they don't seem to mesh well with the tracks. Is this just me? I remember seeing a picture a long time ago that had two different versions (minor design change) of this track pictures above.. Could this have something to do with my problem? I have the tracks from the 8043 Excavator and the large sprockets work fine on them.

but they don't seem to mesh well with the tracks. Is this just me?

I found the same thing, the little cogwheels seems to grab the track

How long ago did the new style come out ? I,ve got a 8043 I bought about a year n half ago ,and one I just got this week with the new actuators. Also bought a bunch off Ebay about the same time I got the first 9043. I,ll have to look next time I have my stuff out. I want to buil;d the chopper from Avitar when I have time.

@ skylinedan: Fernando Correia wrote the TechnicBRICKS article over two years ago (on January 12, 2010). The 57518 Technic Treads have appeared since 2007, and one can select parts from older (~2007-2009) Technic sets to get the older type treads (per this Bricklink webpage). One can alternate old/new/old/new Technic Tread pieces to get around the problem of tight bends:
