Robert M Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I downloaded LDD today, and have already built a range of things. If I can find out how to post the file onto here, I'll show you the tow hitch that I made, it's more of a Drawbar typ, but thats what farms use, so maybe the right kind. Quote
Tim S. Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Have u any pics of the tow hitch u made for the mog? Thats all, so far. But I'm planning something automaticly. Tim Quote
Robert M Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Would it not be possible, to use the Unimogs Pneumatic power to lift the trailer bed? From the pump, have it going to the switch that's standard, then between the nozzle and the switch, add another switch to take the air either to the the first nozzle, which the crane then uses and divides to 3, and the other option to the trailer to lift it up. It might mean a bit of work, and could take a bit of time. But I think that would superbly improve it and make it a lot easier to use, and more enjoyable. The trailer looks good there. Did you miss this post out? I really think it would make it a lot better if this was done. Quote
Tim S. Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Did you miss this post out? I really think it would make it a lot better if this was done. No, no. As I said, the trailer is not finished and the manual pump was mounted only for testing the system. When it's done it will use the air of the mog. Tim Quote
Robert M Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Oh, that is fine, I think I missed your post about that, unless I just forgot. It's a smashing trailer though. I just need to order parts and get building some of these wonderful attachments. Quote

Robert M Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I get confused with it, so I suppose i'll never built my attachments, unless I sit there for a good few hours and figure out what to do. Quote

rumpletump Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I like your idea with rear tipping rather than side tipping, Maybe the crane should move to directly behind the cabin. I have nearly finished building my unimog for the first time YAY. If I have time I might do it for fun Quote
Pat-Ard Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Hi everybody, today the first show able beta of the combined mower is ready. I'm still lacking some parts, but only some. The ideas of the mowers are NOT mine! I just combined those ideas. Here you go: Have fun.. so far Pat Quote
timslegos Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Looks cool! i actually really like the red and orange color scheme! tim Quote

Pat-Ard Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Thanks!!! Yeah, it's a little easier than LA's... But I don't really like the hoses Maybe I'll change the control board... Or I'll add some LA's. Next big thing will be a trailer with a hook loader... Let's see So far Pat Quote
jvoges Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Hi everybody, first of all, I'm quite new in the lego technic business and I'm very impressed of all the different developments discussed and shown in this forum. They gave me many ideas what is possible. After many attempts I have now also something to share. It is a direct steering which avoids the 90 degree switch. It has also a good gear ratio including the clutch wheel, which is not shown in the ldd-file. Enjoy! 8110_steering_direct_final.lxf Quote
dr_spock Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Made a clam shell bucket out of the existing grabbler. Quote

EVCarni Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Hello! I been annoying myself over the Unimog's lack of Differential Locks so I've been trying to twist my mind to how i can fit some of the design's I've found searching the web to the mog. But without success. Does any of you guys have any ideas that can help me on my way? Either by fitting the two designs ive found (i did not make them) or another way to lock the differentials. It would be preferable if it was automated like the first image. Quote
dr_spock Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks guys. Did you add a green bed to? I like the grapple. tim I reused the grey box on my 8258 crane truck. The green box matches my green trailer for the Unimog. Looks cool does it work well? Any instructions or video? It opens and closes ok. I don't have a video. Here are some pics of what I basically did. Hope that helps. Quote

Here is a easy way to make a diff lock (you can have the driving ring on ether side), i do not know how easy it would be to fit this though. Quote

Thanks, i didnt know about that option. I think it will fit on the middle diff. Remove the red (are they really called bush?) bush and make sure i get equal power to the front and back. And its a lot smaller than other options. But how can i make it automatic? Edited February 18, 2012 by EVCarni Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 You would have to atach a motor to it this would mean another function or you could use a diff to it,but all this needs room. Quote
Firky Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Has any one thought of adding extending outriggers to the unimog? Quote
