Posted July 11, 201113 yr Hi, I would like to present my first MOC! It's a small buggy with a flat2 engine, rear suspension & differential and HOG steering. I've been inspired by a old set I own : 8408 Desert Ranger. The Chassis uses the same concept as a real car : it doesn't include drivetrains. You can disassemble them very easily. It was a small challenge to include a supsension system at the rear due to the small room available. The new differential is quite close to the ground but I just couldn't make the model without it ! Studless design makes it 1 stud less in width, the wheelbase stays the same. More pictures available here. Thanks for your comments Yipeeka.
July 12, 201113 yr I like this a lot! I like all the angles and all the round shapes, I like how you did that using angle connectors and flexible axles. Also I just love the completely white body (some parts I didn't even know existed in that color). As Zblj sais, "snowflake" is really what it's like. White and "soft" (due to the rounded shape), which is only strengthened by that little ball on the roof that you used as HOG wheel. And I very much like the modularity. The only thing I would change are the color of the seats. I don't really like the gray. Red seats would fit nicely with the white body I think. By the way, don't forget to enter this into this month's conpetition! It fits the theme perfectly! Edit: this should be a set! Edited July 12, 201113 yr by Erik Leppen
July 12, 201113 yr Very nice ! You captured the shaped perfectly. I've immediatly been thinking to the studful model when I saw your MOC. :) I'm not a big fan of this U-joint transmission for the steering, though.
July 13, 201113 yr Author Thank you for your comments !! It's really encouraging for the future I love the name "snowflake", it pefectly fits the model ! For the steering transmission I tried to use two 12 tooth gear simple or double bevel but a straight axle leeds directly into the engine... It should be possible to make it that way with 1 or 2 stud more for the wheelbase.
