Posted July 14, 201113 yr "Let's Finish This the Way it Started.... Together" Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 comes out in theaters this week, and I decided to build a scene from the trailers in honor of its release. This scene appears in almost all of the trailers and will hopefully play a big role in the movie itself. Harry has just tackled Voldemort off of a cliff within a crumbling Hogwarts, and most likely is about to duel the evil wizard for the last time. The source image can be seen in the following photograph, or you can pause this at 1:16 Clicking on the photographs takes you back to my flickr post. Thanks for reading/viewing -infomaniac-
July 14, 201113 yr Amazing! This is totally going on my face book page (The LEGO Bin)! Thanks for sharing!! Edited July 14, 201113 yr by Parrothead Rasmus
July 14, 201113 yr I think you captured that very well. Well Done for both the MOC and for capturing the clip.
July 14, 201113 yr Looks incredible Infomaniac! Im seeing the movie tonight and am very curious as to what happens in this scene. I think you have captured it in lego form spot on! Keep it up! CF
July 14, 201113 yr Totally jaw-dropping AWESOME 'Infomaniac' ! I wonder what happens next ? (I'll go and see it this weekend) Brick On and keep casting those spells 'Infomaniac' !
July 14, 201113 yr Nice job of recreating that! However, I am a little weary about that scene in the film, because it wasn't in the books and looks like it might be a little corny. But, I did like the Burrow attack scene in HBP that everyone got mad about, so we'll see... -Derek (PS- Infomaniac- Will I see you at the midnight premiere tonight? I'm going as a Death Eater, terrifying mask and all...) Edited July 14, 201113 yr by Derek

Anyways I think this is a very well done 'legofyed' version of the epic scene
July 14, 201113 yr I'm practically speechless Practically... This is really an amazing MOC. I'm so glad you've decided to share it with us. Thank you. You did a masterful job capturing the scene. I really love all the detail you sneaked in. The trees, the curved wall of the lower level, the crumbled columns. Very nice rock work too. I like your use of forced perspective here. It's very natural. I would imagine if the camera panned around to view from the gorge, the entire castle would be there! Excellent job.
July 14, 201113 yr Very cool! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I remember the scene from the trailer. Your MOC is very recognisable. Are the brown cones in the top right people or rubble from the destroyed castle? Edited July 14, 201113 yr by Speedboat
July 14, 201113 yr This is an incredibly faithful rendition; I find myself scanning between the picture of your MOC and that of the source material, and it's like a game of spot-the-difference, except without differences. Even if you hadn't shown the source picture, this is still a beautiful MOC in and of itself, with some great detailing. Really nicely done.
July 14, 201113 yr Fantastic creation Infomaniac! You really captured the overall essence of the scene perfectly in brickbuild, not 'as dark' as in the movie but better this way since it retains the LEGO look of it. Truly an impressive work!
July 14, 201113 yr Great MOC! very true to the scene. Let's finish this how it started, Tom! I saw the film this morning and it was awesome! This is one of a number of changes to the book, which I will not elaborate on because I don't know how to hide spoilers - but most of them were I think an improvement from the book. JK Rowling is listed as I think a producer, so are the differences canon too? I would be interested in anyone else had occasional problems with distant backfield in the 3D, this was the first time I had any issues and it was quite distracting. The Gringotts scenes, though, were fabulous in 3D. I give HP7.2 a maximum :sweet: :sweet:
July 14, 201113 yr Man , this is probably the most accurate moc I've ever seen ! Also , I haven't watched the film yet , but I think this will probably be the most epic scene ! If you want you can edit the picture to change the lighting and the colors so that it looks just like the ref pic ( I'm pretty sure they do this in the movie too ) .
July 14, 201113 yr Very accurate to the source material Infomaniac, and great job on the crumbling look for the cliffs and castle. I can't wait to see the movie tonight.
July 14, 201113 yr Nice MOC ! I was able to go a Monday night press screening, and this scene was dramatic and actually improved the film (the whole movie was EPIC.) I give HP 7.2 a n :sweet: :sweet:
July 14, 201113 yr I have not seen the movie yet, so I fear, I just saw a crazy spoiler, but you re-created that perfectly.
July 14, 201113 yr The words I wanna use to describe how awesome this is cannot be used on Eurobricks. -Omi Edited July 14, 201113 yr by Omicron
July 15, 201113 yr I have not seen the movie yet, so I fear, I just saw a crazy spoiler, but you re-created that perfectly. No spoiler, it's in just about all the previews. This thing is just about spot on, you really captured every inch of that scene in Lego.
July 15, 201113 yr Well done on a great recreation of a massive scene! Love the exact angles achieved not only in the shot, but the castle walls and cliff face.
July 17, 201113 yr Fantastic job! Spot on in recreating the scene. It was great that you included the source pic. It's so cool to look from one to the other and see what an amazing job you did!
