If these figures keeps the theme alive then great! I'm not at all interested in these, and we will get a normal minifig line of sets so do what you gotta do LEGO.

Hulk is obviously missing a ton of new molds, so I think it is pointless to complain about it.

Iron Man is actually incredibly gosu cool compared to most of bionicle and the crap Megabloks have been releasing as well. It probably helps that he is supposed to look mechanical, unlike the other characters.

Batsy and Green lantern are ok.

Of course, I don't think I would buy them. Perhaps Iron Man, specially if the designs improve. Nobody is forcing us AFOLs to buy these, but I think that for kids who want buildable action figures this product is superior to its precedents. I've seen what megabloks have been doing with their Marvel license and they were very successful making figures that were much worse than these. (I had close exposure to the spider man ones, they blow).

The Hero factory build system is great and it is unfair to compare it to Ben 10 : The heroes are obviously built without taking shortcuts except for the torsos, but they will have the usual skeleton used in Hero Factory. They actually look like the characters they are portraying , and beyond the face and torso they are not using any new molds, I think this is great actually.

More so, the hero factory build system to me seems anecdotally a lot more popular with kids than construct-a-buzz. At my local stores there are still Buzz at the shelves since last year, but the HF 2.0 heroes that just arrived last months are actually disappearing.

Close ups on all the figs

The website said that one of the prizes for the contest was the Batcave. So I assume thats the flagship for January 2012. Still no signs of the actual sets though. I'll voice more opinions when I'm not completely tired. But just to tell you how happy I was, I happy danced outside for nearly 30 minutes. 20 more minutes then when Indiana Jones was announced.

Somehow I think that there will be at least two waves. The first wave will be DC and the second wave will be Marvel.

Mostly because it appears that DC are the better-finished ones. I also wouldn't think DC and Marvel would like competing for shelf space too much.

I certainly hope that we get more Green Lanterns. For me, and probably anyone else who grew up watching Justice League, John Stewart's the one and only. Actually, just do the TV Justice League. Superheroes and Castle fans alike would kill for the parts that would come in a Hawkgirl.

I'm pretty sure it was already stated that January would be DC and summer was Marvel to coincide with the different release dates.

Waaait, I can't find any reference to this anywhere.

Are you referring to the fifth Indiana Jones movie, or a return of the Lego theme? Or both?

I meant when it first came out

He's talking about when the first Indy line was announced.

Thanks for the close-ups, sok117! Judging by the pic of Batman, it now looks like we'll definitely get some classic Batman sets! (he has the Earth Blue helmet and hands) :sweet:

The rest of the figures look pretty good in the close-ups as well, although Superman's facial expression is less than desirable.

Ah... you mean 20 more minutes than when Indiana Jones was announced.

Still, I looked it up and the fifth Indiana Jones movie has been announced... so the Lego theme might return yet.

craaaaaap :cry_sad:

they wouldn't pass for decent hero factory sets if the ill-styled heads were swapped out. I'm really pained.

but I do want the dark green parts. and the hulk chest.

On the bright side, if I want to do a constraction figure build-a-____, I'm perfectly happy to do whatever character I want from my own collection - and much more streamlined than the clunky toy story buzz and zurg - those boys got split into the bins pretty early on

I bet theres gonna be a flood of new AFOLs now, all who rekindle their passion with beloved superheroes! And we'll probably get some people who love superheroes only to have them realize their love for all things lego! Are community will grow! AFOL's will declare world domination! (or is that my inner-villain taking? )

Close ups of the minifigs : http://www.toyark.com/news/san-diego-comic-con-58/lego-marvel-and-dc-figures-from-sdcc-4426/

The material in Iron Man's helmet is certainly the one they use to mimic non-existing molds. The head hasn't even gone into production so there's hope. Unfortunately, I think that there isn't too many of it. If they wish to keep the 3D detail in the helmet it will have to look Chibi.

Batman would be interesting as a winged thing if he was given a HF head.

sorry for the double post, but I've just gone through some stuff that I hope I can remember!

For one, Joker looks A hell of a lot like the series 2 witch

Next, it's really great to see the Hulk doesn't suffer from the hollowed out arm syndrome that the SW wampa suffered from!

Wolverine looks more or less finished, I'm pretty sure that Wolverine will come with a mask (fingers crossed)

I'm questioning the appearance of the batman characters, the website says we will get Bane and Harley Quinn. So I guess there is even more surprises around the corner. I'm interested to see what the sets will be like. I'm wondering if it will be more Batman orientated then overall DC universe.

Another thing I'm interested in is the stands that the figures are on. Usually it's plasticine, and the only logical thing that they would use are the actual minifigure stands. The trans-clear 2x3's make me wonder if Wonder Womans invisible jet might be making an appearance? Or at least a Juiorized version.

At first I figured an invisible jet was really unlikely, since (even though it would look amazing) it's generally a bad idea to have too many transparent pieces together - but a more <insert that tiresome argument> version might work, and now you've got my hopes up!

I already have a Harley Quinn, if the new mini figure isn't too different. All I want from the DC line would be Superman, Wonder Woman, Joker and Catwoman.

Marvel's on the other hand I can not wait to see the pics of those.
