Solitary Dark Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Well having just read the Marvel press release I honestly dont believe it! A theme that combines almost all the worlds super heroes is quite unbelieveable - I honestly wonder if we will see a collectible Minifgure type product at some point to increase the number of figures. There are hundreds of characters in each universe that could be made. I want a Blackbird, Danger room, and an X-Mansion.... Oh dear my wallet hurts!
Si-MOCs Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 It is a good day to be a LEGO/Comic fan. Even if the sets suck (can't wait for Superman's car!), at least we'll have some awesome figs.
Skrytsson Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) Quote: The LEGO SUPER HEROES Marvel collection will spotlight three Marvel franchises – Marvel's The Avengers movie, and X-Men and Spider-Man classic characters. LEGO minifigure form: - Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Loki and Black Widow - Wolverine, Magneto, Nick Fury and Deadpool - Spider-Man, and Doctor Octopus. The new LEGO DC Universe SUPER HEROES collection will feature 13 iconic super heroes in LEGO minifigure form, including: - Batman™, Robin™, Catwoman™, The Joker, The Riddler™, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn™, Bane, Bruce Wayne, Superman™, Lex Luthor™ and Wonder Woman™. This is awesome! But, will the Green Lantern minifigure only be released as promo? It is not mentioned among DC:s 13 iconic super heroes... Edited July 20, 2011 by Skrytsson
Zarkan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) I've got mixed feelings about this, but I'll see how it plays out. -Omi I'm curious as to why. It's the two biggest comic book franchises licensed by the company we all love. Unless you're not a fan of either Marvel, DC, or lego licenses, what's not to like? Edited July 20, 2011 by Zarkan
Omicron Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) I'm curious as to why. It's the two biggest comic book franchises licensed by the company we all love. Unless you're not a fan of either Marvel, DC, or lego licenses, what's not to like? I'm looking at it from the view of a customizor. People make fantastic customs from both franchises for the sole purpose of doing what Lego does not. Now that Lego is doing it, kinda defeats the purpose. Although I won't have to worry about them making video game figs. :P And I know there is no doubt that this is amazing. I'm actually happy they are releasing a better Dark Knight figure, since the dark bley one was not up to standards IMO. -Omi Edited July 20, 2011 by Omicron
Capt. Redblade Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This is HUGE NEWS!!!! This line could go on for years now that it's 'DC Universe' and not just Batman! Personally, I'd kill for a Green Arrow fig!! And I would help you hide the body for that same fig, sir!
Rumble Strike Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Coming from a Minimates background, I am really excited to see that Lego got the Marvel licence too, but I hope it isn't an "exclusive" block figure one. Mega Bloks and Minimates have run co-currently so hopefully they will be OK.

Ah, so what Lego meant with 13 figures, is for each 'sub-theme'
iKonoKlasT Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Ah, so what Lego meant with 13 figures, is for each 'sub-theme' Or maybe because Batman and Spidey minifigs are not new?
Peanuts Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Wow, that's one of the things I exspected least to happen. I mean, return of Batman . New DC and Marvel sets, and so on. It's funny how much information we get about this, I think this will turn out to be really good. Sounds like TLC will make a lot of money by that, but nevermind. I just hope, they will have some nice small or medium sized sets.
tchuk-norst Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I never took advantage of the Batman sets when they were originally out. I've been given a second chance!
JimBee Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This is great news, I'm really interested in more pics. Too bad for those who were holding on to their Batman figures, though. I'm sure the BL prices on those will plummet come next year.
Brickviller Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I'm not really a fan of a theme like this, so that may have affected my opinion about the fact that Lego really begins to have too much themes currently. When I go to my local Toys R Us, the shelves are still filled with sets from years back (Even from 2009!). With more themes some smaller stores will/have decided not to sell certain themes, meaning less profit for Lego. But I'm also not a sales manager or anything, it's just my simple thinking
______ Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I simply did not see this coming! I hope they sell original Batman as well and imagine a working bat signal! This is amazing news.
Jareth Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Ok, I'm out of my original coma of disbelief/awesomeness of this news, but now my logical cynical side is taking over. I hope this is true, but the odds of both marvel & dc doing this together are slim. Secondly Superhero sets are hard to do because very few of them use vehicles and the like. Lego did a great job with the spidey sets however, so I hope they continue with great other superhero sets. The other thing that I find a little odd is that for the X-Men line they have 1 1/2 X men. I'd only consider wolverine to be a full X-man, magneto to be half and the others are Nick Fury and deadpool. It's a weird choice, not weird enough to stop me from buying them, but still weird. Of course even if only half of this is true it's still going to be an awesome year.
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Great news! I want to give a second chanche to this theme (don't say this thing to my wife )
Howard Moon Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Been lurking around the Marvel minifig forums for years if true THIS IS AWESOME!!! I don't want to be let down, but it seems genuine. I looked at the facts. 1. The DC announcment is legit 2. Disney now owns Marvel, and Disney already licenses to Lego 3. The term "Super-hero" is co-owned by Marvel and DC, and I doubt it could/would be used without the other companies permission or on place of simply using Marvel or DC as the product line brand name. now I am speculating that this announcement is the reason we haven't heard about minifigs series 7, because the resources will go towards making minfigs series 7 with the Marvel and DC characters, and I would imagine sets as well in equal proportion. Imagine an X-men danger room set, a Superman Daily planet or better yet fortress of solitude! Avengers mansion! New Bat-cave! How about a Wonder woman invisible jet made with all clear pieces?! My mind boggles... Just wow...
Bobskink Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) never mind Edited July 20, 2011 by Bobskink
iKonoKlasT Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 but just checked the site, Superman and the other losers aswell... Have you been able to see the sets and the other minifigs?
wincent Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 and Lego scores again ,likely we see some of those in the collectible minifig series 6/7/8
Bobskink Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Have you been able to see the sets and the other minifigs? just edited my post, but no I haven't, still I doubt this will work in Europe.
iKonoKlasT Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 just edited my post, but no I haven't, still I doubt this will work in Europe. Superheroes movies do work. As there will be a new Batman and a new Spiderman movie next year why not?
