SpiderSpaceman Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) How did I miss the explanation for those joint extensions? Apparently they're high-friction to support all the body bulk. Proomising! oh yeah and shipping from toys r us in USA now. heroes, no joker Edited December 8, 2011 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
sok117 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Well, the descriptions for Batman and Green Lantern mention an "all new powered-up suit" for each, which is sort of how I was expecting the variations from the typical depictions of the characters to be explained. "Power armor" is a timeless gimmick for action figures, whether it makes sense for the character or not. It's only natural that it'd be used here to explain the quirks of the HF-based build, like Green Lantern's lovely bulky shoulderpads. You said it! Right now I'm only really interested in the Joker, maybe pick up the Lantern if theres a sale. Quote

VBBN Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 oh yeah and shipping from toys r us in USA now. heroes, no joker Which is actually kinda contradictory when you think about it, Joker isn't a superhero so really doesnt fit under a line called superheros, but that's just me being picky I might grab one or two for parts, I can basically now say with confidence the designs of the sets themselves do not interest me at all Quote

The theme name just says what the theme is about, not who the characters are. Quote

Darth Hagrid Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 It's weird.. I know I should hate these, but there is just something about them... Quote
ScaryScarecrow Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 This would be my least favorite idea ever. But then I saw Batman. Quote
ZORK64 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) I got the German LEGO catalogue today and it contains finalized pics of the Marvel heroes: Apparently, all six of them will hit German shelves in May. Captain America's torso armour got not only a star, but also a chainmail-like pattern printed on. Also, Hulk got armour. Too bad that the Hero torso armour isn't available in lime green (because if it would be, you could easily make him completely green). His face got improved though. And Iron Man didn't changed that much, but he looks pretty cool overall. Edited December 20, 2011 by ZORK64 Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Marvel Heroes don't look as bad as I thought they would. Definitely getting CA, maybe Hulk. Iron Man will be destroyed (for parts)! Quote
vexorian Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I really don't get why did they feel the need to give Hulk armor. He would have been great if all that silver was green. Iron Man is really the only one that attracts me, and even so not enough for me to consider financing licensed sets. HF has enough cool things next year so I really won't feel the lack of these super heroes.. Quote
Shakar Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Overpriced parts packs, that's what I consider these sets to be. Buying Joker, Green Lantern and Ironman for the lilac/bright green/red/gold parts just isn't worth it. I probably would have bought Joker for 15 Euro or so, but 17-18 Euro is just too much. I could care less about the other 3. Anyway, I hope PaB adds some of these pieces to the list. One thing, Captain America's lower legs use a new part. A few Summer Hero Factory sets feature it, like Core Hunter and I think Bulk as well. It's a nice new part- it can be used to make some fine boots, like those guys show. Quote
Jetrax99 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I might just get Iron Man and Captain America. Quote
Mesonak Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I actually think Iron Man looks really great as a stand-alone set. I think because the HF aesthetic really works with his character. I'll definitely be getting him, though I don't think I'll touch Hulk and CA. Quote
Nightcruise Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Would it really been that hard to make those parts on Hulk green? Come on Lego, I know the company can do better. As for Ironman, I see some parts on it that I'll love to get for mocs. Besides already getting Joker, I might pick up Batman and Ironman just for parts. Quote

Uhm... you do know each one of them costs actually 14,99€? One thing, Captain America's lower legs use a new part. A few Summer Hero Factory sets feature it, like Core Hunter and I think Bulk as well. It's a nice new part- it can be used to make some fine boots, like those guys show. Ah, I didn't really noticed that. I thought it's the same piece as seen in the current HF-wave. I hope one of them will also be released in white... Quote

ZORK64 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 If you have images of the marvel sets can you please add them here Sadly no. The only Superheroes in the catalogue are the buildable ones, not one single Superhero-Minifig. Quote

Europe usually gets bad prices when it comes to licensed themes, so I was excepting something close to the Toys R Us price tag. But this is great. I may actually pick one or two of them now, thanks!I checked the Summer HF sets again, and no one seems to feature them other than the two I mentioned- maaaybe two of them in lilac them are used on Voltix's shoulders, but I don't know. Peraphs Speed Demon will include some of them, but I doubt they're going to make a white Villain. But I'm going OT now. Edited December 20, 2011 by Shakar Quote

VBBN Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I'll be getting Iron man for parts, and even as a stand alone set he doesnt look too bad. Plus I love iron man, so its a given I want him Quote
Dorek Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Iron Man is definitely the best set overall, but that's because the building style lends it to that overall impression. Cap looks pretty cool, though. Hulk could use fingers, but I'm otherwise satisfied with how it turned out. I'll have to try and pick some up. Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 (edited) Wow. CGI sure makes a lot of difference, doesn't it? Definitely getting Iron Man, though I'll be modding his huge megablocks shoulders. As for Hulk - very disappointed they still gave him those gunmetal parts, it puts me off completely. Cap looks better, if I get him I'll remove those shoulder pieces. But one thing I don't like about him is that his head looks exactly like Batman's but without the ears.
