Thank you for the review! I've been meaning to buy this set (for the parts :D)

I liked the graffiti stickers on the side of the garage.

Just one question though, is the sticker base trans clear or white? Because that would do so well on other surfaces than just white too.

Tks so much Gyl for this great review ;-)

I always thought this set would be awsome and it is !!

I totally agree with you regarding those tiny turbos: they have a fantastic parts selection !!

I have a question since you build this set: would it take loads of mods on the garage itself to make it MF size ?? From your pics it doesn't look that way but you never know ;-)

*yoda*

One funny thing is that once upon a time, minifigs used to drive cars that size. Today it's considered a tiny or mini scale ! :-D

Anyway, nice set, but no minifig, not for me X-O

The garage looks good, but I find not good that isn't minifig size. But I thing you can use the garage and the parts of the cars, not the hole cars for minifig skale. :-)

No minifigs ok, but you have secretly a couple to use for it. :'-)

I have bought it and I think that there is no modification to make it a minifig scale. you just have to put some cars with minifig drivers and it is ok!

You are right alex54. That is what I want to say. :-|

Looks cool, now it only need a Vin Diesel minifig and it's complete :-P . I won't be getting it though, since I don't collect town stuff. But it sure looks like a cool garage for those who do collect town stuff.

Got it from Shop@Home Canada.

I'll be picking up another one soon.

Here is how you use this set:

-have fun buiding it, display for 1-2 weeks.

-take the little cars apart and try to make more interesting cars. THere was some guy on Lugnet, I lost the link unfortunately, who made some truly beautiful little cars with parts from these and other small sets. If anyone finds that link, please post it. They were really nice.

-toss the big bricks, plates, and all else that makes up the Garage into the bins/dividers for future use.

All for the same price as taking two kids to a movie, getting popcorn and a drink, and parking.

Highly recommended.

The graffiti stickers have a white base unfortunately.

Aww, rats. What a waste of a perfectly detailed MOC-potential sticker. Oh, well, that'll have to do then X)

but that doesn't cost $60 *wacko*

it's not $60. the set is $40. in my state, kid's ticket cost $6, adult $7. 2 kids, 1 adult = $19. popcorn + drink = $10. that's $29. parking is free though. so....maybe he exaggerated slightly but definitely within the realm of possibility. 8-| unless you go for 2x large popcorn and large drink which adds another $10 to the total. so it's quite possible...

I am talking Canadian dollars.

Errrr:

18 dollars for daddy

12 dollars for two girls = 24 dollars

10 dollars for crap food

10-15 dollars for parking (YES, we pay for a large underground parking garage!)

Total: 62-67 dollars

Sad, isn't it.

In Canada the price of the set is inflated beyond the exchange rate (50% more vs 12% on exchange), so in the US it is significantly less expendive than a night out.

in the words of the president..."dubya" tee efffff...$18 for a movie?! what theater did you go to? one lined with golden trimmings? even CAD that's pretty ridiculous. just get the dvd mate and save yourself some money. and why pay for parking? it's not like canada has a shortage of land. i guess some of that goes to the medical and welfare system...

Movie tickets vary. If we go to a matinee with the kids they are down to 10 bucks for children, 13 adults. Evening shows are never less than 15$ for adults. Doesn't correlate with the quality of theatre either.

If you go to a suburban mall, with big parking lots, Parking is free. If you go downtown Toronto, where I live, there hasn't been free parking here in 20 years. It's 2$ per half hour, maximum 20. My parking bill for work is 300-400$ per month. Life in the big city folks.

i work in nyc...but i live in the suburbs to save myself some grief. :-P i thought toronto has a very good grid. can't you take the subway or the bus loops to get to downtown? anyway, i'm digressing here, so i guess i better stop. *sweet* plus you're probably one of 'em rich folks vs middle class for me. :-)

Nah, the rich folk have the pirated versions movies of the movies delivered to their 12 seat surroudn sound home theatres. The subway system here works well if you are on the subway line, but otherwise not.

As usual KimT did not do his research properly, *wacko* I just found in a local toyshop (BR) in Copenhagen. Looks nice.

Good review
