lightningtiger Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Another shot at a different angle, plus I lengthened the air hose, but there's a 3 week wait on another green fuel hose....looks like I have to cut another hose again ! Keep on commenting, keep on watching ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Thanks 'icy brick' for your kind words, yes....UNCLE....UNCLE....I give up....a Shell Sign, I'll make one today ! lightningtiger Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) The diner exterior might look a little like this...... Though the yellow/red/white trim will be the same though the whole structure. Comments, suggestions, etc., always welcome......keep on watching ! Sorry, mod's about the size but that is only picture I could find for any diner with a Shell roadhouse. Edited July 25, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
jonwil Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I love what you are doing with this Shell station, really looks like the right sort of thing for an outback/small town petrol station. A roadhouse style diner would be perfect. Don't forget to build a big rig truck to park at your Shell station (complete with trucker in the cab driving it) Nice job on the ice coffee too (should put some more bottles in a fridge in your diner) The food in your diner should be cheap, greasy and filling. Burgers, chips, steak sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, coffee, bacon & egg sandwiches etc. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Thanks 'jonwil' for your feedback, I have started production of iced coffee containers and printed up stickers for meat pies too. I also have produced interior signage for said products. Diner starts properly tomorrow......keep on commenting, watching & drinking iced coffee ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Well, good morning everyone.....all out of ideas or suggestions....no way can't be this is EB ? Now should I build a counter style serving area like old school diner design or this...... Yeah, that is a photo from the USA, but just as an example ! I intend to have the diner fully built by the end of today......though I get job calls...money comes first ! Comments....you all know the drill.....Brick On ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Interior to the diner is next....comments welcome.....keep on watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 I have started the interior but work came up so here is where I'm at the moment.... You can see where the diner counter and food prep area is going, need another 8x16 base plate then I can make a drinks fridge and a new ice cream box. Comments and suggestions welcome.......keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 What no more ideas or suggestions ? Oh, well.....back to working on this tomorrow ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 It's slowly comming together..... More work still as you can see.....comments welcome and keep on watching ! Quote

LegoCityMann Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Looks great, hit the PAB wall today, might do some building myself tomorrow. ~LCM Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Thanks again 'LCM'.....I look forward to your creations ! I'm buy some extra 1x8 red tiles tomorrow to finish the red off, any other suggestions are still welcome. (Sadly I had to raid the pub and shopping centre for parts....so I must replace a bit in the long run !) Keep watching everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Question time....should I sticker the drinks fridge Coca Cola ? Also suggest some merchandise that can in between the fridge and counter....hanging stuff that is ? Must get some hot dogs for the diner ! Keep on watching ! Quote
drevim Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Looks great, LT. I would definitely go with a logo above the door. Maybe down the sides, not sure if that would get too busy looking. Personally, I'm not sure about putting a hanging display between the fridge and counter. Again, too busy? Or maybe I'm not envisioning what you are, so...opinion -grain of salt and all Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Thanks 'drevim' for your feedback, I'll make correct sized stickers for the Coke fridge today. Starting plan something else to go with this....maybe a shower/toilet block to begin the second driveway base plate....well it has to be long enough to fuel up a big rig ! Oh, yeah....I must make a big rig ! Keep on watching.....this servo is changing slowly into a truck stop or roadhouse ! Quote
Tamamono Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Fantastic service station, LT! I love the way you did the Shell sign, and the amount of detail in the diner/convenience store is amazing! I think you should add some 'Coca Cola' stickers to the fridge, and maybe you could add a little rack with some chips? Anyways, keep up the great work, LT! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Thanks 'Captain T', I'll be printing the stickers later this morning so keep on watching for the update ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 The roadhouse itself is finished, extra buildings connected with the complex I shall decide tomorrow on those. Coke is the real thing ! Meat pies under glass. Comments welcome still.....keep on watching ! Quote
