So let's see,

You're a new member, we don't know you.

Your story sounds horrible, but we have no way of telling if it is true.

There are no pictures or other places where these sets are offered by you.

You can't show us any feedback on your person, anywhere?

Your spelling is terrible.

I may sound horrible, but no sensible member on this site will buy your sets in this way.

And they are nice sets.

I apologize for the spelling as far as my credibility goes my store on bricklink is andrews surplus and i have positive reviews I can and will post pictures as soon as possible

Ok so I would like to start off with Im really sorry to hear about your situation and I hope everything works itself out for you no one should have to go through something like that.

Also I would like to say that I see where the others come from and Im sure they are saying it from experience and knowledge of other situations but I feel like you have shown enough proof and was wondering what kind of price you are looking to sell them for. Im very excite to hear back from you because Im a huge lego collector but have never seemed to get my hands on any pirate stuff other than the new Pirates of the Caribbean stuff.

(sorry for poor grammar and spelling)

Thank you

Andrew,

Might I suggest this is not the best way to maximize your return on investment. To try and sell thsi as a single large lot almost insures you will make less.

Your Bricklink Store has nothing in it. You really should list the sets there and sell them as sets. Or list them as sets on ebay. Either way you will get folks who are willing to pay you a reasonable price rather than buying the whole set in a large $800 payout.

Good Luck

I have to try and sell these in a hurry due to the fact that I am without transportation and need transportation to get a new job. But thank you for the advice it may come down to that.

I have not posted it on brick link yet due to the fact that would prefer to sell the sets as a group.

Im really sorry i couldn't help you. But if you decide to go individually I could take the imperial flagship off your hands at a a reasonable price.

Thanks again

Sorry if this is wrong but i'm mildly curious about what happened with your Car Insurance or your unemployment from your lost job? when I got in a wreck in my car, my insurance fixed it and if it was not fixable they would have replaced it up to a certain amount.

And when I lost my job a year ago from my entire department being shut down I've been getting unemployment insurance.

Furthermore if your situation was as dire as you state it is you would most definately be willing to sell them as sets, since that will increase your chance of sales.

I had liability only on my car. And the situation with my job was complicated due to the fact that it was commission based but not in the sales type commission but similar to a service contract and get paid when the job is completed and the company went bankrupt mid contract due to something to do with back taxes and the owner being under investigation for several different things.

why would it expidite things to sell them as individual sets? I dont even know what unemploment insurence is.

But there are still ways to get aide and help, and even with contract and commission based jobs you still get a wage albeit not much, and even if the contract was cancelled mid-job, you'd still be able to seek unemployment, since you should have still received payment during the time you did work, if not, sounds like you were working for a very unscrupolous boss, but even then the government would help people in that situation.

Also if this is not your first job, then you should get unemployment insurance for any job you've held in the past 2 years.

all the jobs i have worked have been ether part time durring school or in the oil field I have not heard of due to the type of work i do in the oil field I would change employers every few months due to the project bassed set up. the only insurence available was medical and life.

Do you live in the US?

Yes I live in California.

As it goes I don't know if you have the items to sell or not but so far your story is changing too much, furthermore even part time work "During school" would still give you unemployment insurance.

I dont know what your trying to accomplish by any of this I have never heard of unemployment insurence and im not able to wait the 3 or more weeks it takes to get unemployment going or the 5 hr phone calls trying to get ahold of someone at the office. I am just trying to sell a bunch of sets so that I can buy parts for my car. and get another job.

Please try to keep the discussion related to the sale, not to the US social care system.

Andrew, might I suggest:

Take your time. Edit the first post with details: for each set, provide the set number, condition: whether the set is MISB, used for display, with box etc. Present it nicely, with proper capitalisation etc, and preferably provide a picture for each set you're selling.

As others have suggested, you'd be better off allowing sales of individual sets. A large outlay for the whole lot is a big risk which not many would be willing to take.

Decide how far you'd be willing to ship them, and state it.

You don't have to provide any reasons for wanting to sell, but a succinct paragraph (not a sob story) wouldn't hurt.

I'm puzzled by your comment about duplicate sets: you have two copies of each of these; are both built, or is one MISB? Which are you selling? Also, your Bricklink store link doesn't work for me.

Thanks and good luck!

I didnt intend for the sob story to become such a issue and I appologize I was just trying to convay that I was trying to sell these sets in a big hurry thanks for your advice I will be posting these on my bricklink or selling them on ebay I dont know which yet and should post them this eavining some time. It has become obvious that there is no quick way to do this.

As far as the doubles go I have a few of these sets that belonged to be as a kid and have very rough wear and some damage, I am keeping these sets because they were some of my best memories growing up. The newer ships in the list I do not have duplicates of but I am not going to be keeping them.

The sets I am selling have mostly been display only.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

The fastest way to sell these is by listing them on Ebay. However this is a bit risky as the final sale price depends on the amount of bids. If you set your initial price too high, it will discourage potential buyers. And conversely, if the price you set is too low, you might not end up with a satisfactory price. Hence, the risk and dilemma.

I suggest doing some research on Ebay by following the trends on how much each set sells. Hopefully that will give you a good idea on the starting price. Bricklink price guide is also a good resource but not reflective of how things work on Ebay. It's gets really wild on there as prices sky rocket when there is less than 2 minutes left.

Add lots of clean and clear pictures. Deeplink them if you have to as Ebay charges you for additional pictures. It is also very important to incorporate a good title (Set number, Pirates, Imperial, Lot, etc...) words (even throw in Star Wars if you have to) for maximum visibility.

For shipping, open it to international as you'll attract more buyers. And insure the package. :classic:

Best of luck to you.

I apologize for hijacking this thread, but I can't pm chuckie8646 because he's too new.

Chuckie, if you're interested in older Pirates sets, I have a bunch for sale here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58015
