CMP Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I'm fairly sure that Clone Wars wont die until the Clone Wars TV show stops which isn't anytime soon, at least not 2012 to my knowledge. Why stop something that makes money? There's another Star Wars TV Series/Show coming soon - I think it'll boost a new line of Star Wars themed sets - though I really don't know when they'll launch it? So soon we'll have a division between OT - PT - CW and TV Series. Should get interesting. I'm not saying it's going to/should die anytime soon, I basically mean they're running out of source material. Most of the basic stuff is done, all they can really do is fill in the gaps and base sets on episodes. And I think that got delayed for a few years. Sets from that would've been awesome...but the possibly upcoming 'Old Republic Fighter' could signal either a brief tie-in or a whole other subtheme. Just like Rogue Shadow. A tempting dream just out of reach... Quote

Vindice Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Was it not mentioned recently that CW will be 5 seasons and that's it? I think after that they wil continue the SW cartoons in maybe another period. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I've just been looking at the most recent set of pictures, and I have to say the sets look great - I really hope that the Clone battle pack comes with a full set of dark red commander gear (pauldron, kama, floodlights, rangefinders and pair of pistols), since the ARC Clone has a red rangefinder. Does anyone else think this is possible, or that TLG will just start including the rangfinder seperately? I think it'll be the latter myself, which is a shame. Quote

Jedi master Brick Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 On the design of the Jedi starfighter, if you look carfull the hull is a bit deeper where art is. So Having r2 whole will only affect that bit of the hull. Quote

I was thinking about that, too, actually. I'm hoping this means more colored gear, 'cause I'd like to see an orange visor for Cody. Maybe some colored pauldrons as well Regards, Mitch Quote
Fives Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I just noticed something about the Stormtrooper in the Endor BP. He has a new torso print. So if he gets a new torso print, why does the Scout Trooper have the same torso from twelve years ago? I mean, it needs to be changed! I would really love a Scout Trooper with a new torso, and new legs that are black with white printing for the boots. That would be way more accurate, and it would look really cool. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 If printing white on red is iffy, I can't imagine white on black... Black printing on white legs could accomplish the same thing. The Scout does need printed legs. Torso's okay, but the legs could use updating. Quote
hjmediastudios Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I wish they'd just keep the Stormtrooper print that they've had all these years. It's a good print that perfectly captures the "Stormtrooper" identity, yet it's not too detailed- I feel the big problem with a lot of these new prints is that they're straying from the stylized "Lego" look. It's almost like figures with noses... Besides, the new print means I'll have twelve old-stlye and twelve new-style troopers. The scout troopers, at least, will look consistent. Quote

I agree, Lego is becoming a bit too detailed, it's too much printing to put on such a small fig, that's not in proper proportions anyway. I'll still buy them, the sucker that I am , But I'll complain all the way. Quote
StoutFiles Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) Source? Last time I heard of it, the show was still well in production. I thought it was well known that the show hasn't been made yet because of budget problems. This show has been rumored for 6 years now. Please note that by quality, Lucas is only referring to special effects. Sigh. Edited November 6, 2011 by StoutFiles Quote

I Still prefer that they postpone this potential show because of the cost of CGI, just to avoid seeing a stupid talking drama in the SW universe with some Battlestar-Nothing-happening-but-talking-Galactica feeling... Clone OPatra Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 There is a new Star Wars show coming, apparently a comedy collaboration with Seth Green since Lucas was impressed by the Robot Chicken stuff. It is possible there will be sets based on this show, depending on the real content of it. Quote

Yep, the show is currently under the title "Star Wars: Detours" and should be on the way within the next few years. I hope we do see Lego sets from the show. The mix of comedy and Lego has always done well together, as we've seen from the various short films and in "The Padawan Menace". Quote
legofett5 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Somehow I don't think we'll get sets from the new show. I was reading up on it, and apparently it's a Star Wars comedy show, meant for adults. George Lucas was saying that he had TCW for the kids, and now he's going to have the new show for older fans. The show will probably have some mature content in it, very much like the Family Guy or Robot Chicken parodies of Star Wars. I think the show will be too mature for young kids, and therefore wouldn't sell well in sets. But I could be wrong, that's just my opinion on the show. Quote
The Legonater Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I was jsut looking at the Clone Wars BP, and I noticed a gear-like 2x2 thick grey piece on the cannon. Is that new? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 You mean this? No, it's not new. It's been around for most of 2011, often used to make a column but also as some other things. Quote

Vindice Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Huh. I've never seen it before. To be fair unless you're a fan of the atlantis range I'm not surprised you haven't seen it. nice piece though. Quote
