The other Geonosian doesn't seem to differ from the Geonosian Pilot, that came with the Geonosian Fighter, does it?

Threepio's a lot more detailed now. I love that you can see he wiring, by his waist

Heres a closer look at C-3P0 from the new Droid Escape set:

I love the new wiring, but I'm not entirely sure about the torso print overall. Somehow he now looks sort of "inconsistent" to me.

Do you guys think that we will get a new R-3PO to match this guy?

Edit: The fig looks better on the 9490 set image. Could it be the light?

He could definitely use some leg and hip printing.

That C-3PO does look nice, but it looks more like an animated mini-figure than a classic one, which is why some might think it looks "off" overall.

C-3P0 and the Geonosian look really nice hopefully well get pictures of Obi-wan,Nute Gunray,The ARC trooper,Porkins and Gold Leader soon.

Has anyone heard anything on the summer sets or seen pictures of the b-wing and UCS R2-D2?

I think I like the new print on 3P0. It does have a sort of Clone Wars vibe to it, but that doesn't bother me too much. And it is really nice to finally get printed eyes. He's just going to look so out of place next to all my old 3P0s. Oh well, that's the price of progress, I guess.

I'm getting really excited to finally start getting my hands on these sets! Next year can't get here soon enough!

Not sure about the C-3P0 yet. Love the printed eyes, not so sure about the torso print. As ceroknight says, it may take some getting used to.

Still, I'm really excited about most of the new sets. As a kid, I looked forward to Christmas. As an AFOL, I look forward to January.

The new torso for C3-P0 is quite interesting, you can see some of his internal wiring which is normal for such a droid.....though the torso print does look sharp in some places and weak/faded in others. Or just perhaps to was the photograph letting it down, we'll need to have a review in the future to truly see.

The thing that bothers me about the new C-3PO is the fact that his detail printing is extremely subtle. It could just be the photo, though, and he'll look better in real life.

The only problem with the new one in terms of consistency is that he'll make all the other protocol droid figs, which are based on the old Threepio, look inconsistent. Thankfully all the versions of C-3PO to date have been his OT self. If there had been an Episode I version based on the old design, then you'd have to either keep using your old golden C-3PO or wait for TLG to grant us a new version of the Episode I design.

With that said, the (apparently) printed eyes of this one seem to make an Episode I C-3PO seem that much more possible. I won't be waiting with bated breath, but I still hope TLG also recognizes that potential.

I feel the only good way they could do an EP1 3P0 would be if he was done similarly to the medic droid from this years Hoth set. That way he wold look more naked than a full minifig.

I hadn't thought of that before. They haven't made that fig yet. Maybe a possibility with the "new" movies coming out... again....for the second time.

I've always been in some doubt over C3PO's eyes. They definitely looked printed, but it could have easily been lighting. I'm even doubting now.

The new C3PO looks great, though I do hope it's a one-off. It's a nice clean look, but C3PO is kind of battered.

If a half-built C3PO was made, I think the current minifig version would be best. He wasn't significantly skinnier by not having plating, anyway.

Half-built version? Pearl Dark Gray and with printed wires on the arms/legs/torso would be fitting.

That could work. Something closer to the old skeletons could do the trick. Hopefully we'll get one someday

it seems the wires on the new c3po stand out too much because the torso lines disappear into the gold body, at least the eyes look good

I think some of C-3PO's detail printing is too dark and should be the light gold colour like the origianl one but with the new print. Those dark parts at the top dont look accurite at all . The new printed eyes are welcoming though.
