I love all the details on the ARC (leg printing ), but not a fan of the cloth elements. They look out of place for some reason. I feel they would have looked better if done in plastic. Oh well, still going to buy this set anyways!

The main problem being they will look out of place with all the plastic ARC gear we've had until now :hmpf_bad:.

I was just recently rewatching the Kamino episodes of the Clone Wars season 3, and I believe the ARF trooper in this BP is one seen in the battle. He looks like the one at the end who bazookas one of the squid droids, after the yellow ARC trooper yells at him to hurry.

Indeed. Though it is more based on the look in the episode "Mercy Mission", as the ARF version on Kamino did not have striped arms...

Aw, no leg printing on the ARF. :cry3: I guess I'll just have to get extra ARCs so I can replace the legs. :shrug_oh_well:

EDIT:500th post! :devil_laugh:

so the ARC trooper helmet is supposed to represent Phase II ?

Phase 1.5. A cross between both the phase's.

I think the one on Kamino was simply an error because the Hasbro version has striped arms and so does the Force Attax card.

Yes, toys have precedence over THE Clone Wars. Recall that Hasbro once released a Green Squadron A-wing in red.

Maybe you can prove that Hasbro has had some errors, but what about the Force Attax card?

(The ARF trooper on the card even has that same rocket launcher.)

Isn't that a part of a game system? Game mechanics always occupy the lowest priority level of canon.

But how can it be non-canon? Every other CW image on the cards seem pretty legit to me.

EDIT: There's also this image of the red ARF trooper.

Because it's a game mechanic. Added for the sake of the game. For example, a non-canon mechanic is Battlefront II is that Alpha-3 V-wings drop bombs and fulfill the bomber role, even though they are fighters. This was done because the ARC-170 already occupied the all-purpose fighter role. It would be more accurate for those to be switched, but the ARC-170 was presumably made the all-purpose fighter to match the X-wing's role of all-purpose fighter, so the designers gave the Alpha-3 bomber characteristics, which aren't considered canon even though many parts of BF2 are.

Don't forget TIE bombers having laser cannons and side hangars in Star Destroyers.

To be fair, the ARF on Kamino could probably be considered a legitimate variant, meaning the minifigure is correct. The idea that Hasbro is a legitimate source for anything other than names, however, is not.

Oh, now I see what both of you are saying. I guess the ARF is probably a variant. :P

Anyways, thanks for the explanation. :classic:

Where? Wookieepedia says "two wing-mounted laser cannons", but none are visible in this shot. Or are they? There are those two thin bits just inside the panels, but those look more like support beams to me, and in any case they aren't pointed forward. And I actually have never played TIE Fighter, though I've seen many of the missions on YouTube.

What!!! Never played the 1 of the greatest star wars games, which are based solely around Starfighter space combat! I hope you of all people have at least played the original X-wing.!

Where the hell are those up-dated versions of those great games, they were rumored back in the mid 00's :cry_sad:

I can't get into X-wing. It's too.. dated compared with TIE Fighter and Alliance. But yeah It should be mandatory to have played an X-wing game to post in this forum (If i had it my way the whole Internet)

Well there's your problem. It doesn't actually list a source for that info. It's around about here
