pranas Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I know many people think the tree thing in the Endor BP is lame, but I actually kinda like it. It'll add more forest elements to my growing Endor display. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the FOURTH speeder bike in my collection (fifth if you include the white Hoth speeder bike). I really wish in the future that LEGO would either back off the ground battle of Endor for a few years or at least start making sets based off the Ewok side of the battle (Ewok Village, Battle Wagon, etc). I mean, there are only so many speeder bikes and AT-STs you can release in a given period, right? But overall, these sets are looking awesome. Now time to start saving up some cash. Quote

pranas Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 But hadn't we been wishing for more Endor rebels and scout troopers all this time? Well, for the Endor rebel troopers, yes, and it is nice that we are finally getting some in a cheap battle pack. I think we've gotten enough scout troopers already though (unless I'm wrong, they've been in almost every Endor set since the line started with the exception of the two AT-ST sets). I am glad that LEGO is finally acknowledging that Stormtroopers fought in the Battle of Endor and put one in the battle pack instead of two scout troopers. Overall though I'd love to see more Ewoks in the future if they do more Endor sets. I'm sure I'll be eating my own words though in a few years from now when LEGO gives us five sets in a row with nothing but Ewoks and Ewok gilders. Quote
Snowspeeder Pilot Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 The Endor Rebel Troopers has no backpack and they do not use gray gloves like the ones that appears on Battle of Endor Set. Quote
Mr Man Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 The Endor Rebel Troopers has no backpack and they do not use gray gloves like the ones that appears on Battle of Endor Set. Well hands are easily replaceable and backpacks aren't necessary for all the troops are they? Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Argh! Why are the Commando Droids bronze? I guess I could live with it, but it's so odd given the countless images we've had of the dark grey ones. Also, the dirty Sandtroopers look... less dirty. They almost look misprinted. Oh well... As said, the box images actually are probably the final versions, while the out-of-box might be preliminary. I hope that at least the Commando Droids are changed from the bronze color, they look awful. The Sandtroopers aren't so bad, in my opinion, except for the identical helmets. Quote
Brickadeer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 The Sandtroopers aren't so bad, in my opinion, except for the identical helmets. I always thought that similar dirt patterns are not very likely, but anyway, I like those troopers. Quote

The Sandtroopers are too dirty IMO. They are looking odd, too detailed. They already have leg printing, combined with all the dirt.. no, it just doesn't do it for me. Neither they will fit in with the Stormtroopers we've already seen. Why couldn't they keep it simple with just a little dirt and give the battlepack Stormtrooper leg printing instead of the sandtrooper? Edited November 22, 2011 by Hollander Quote
legolandia Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 If the sandtroopers are too dirty get a bar of soap and wash them a bit. If the sandtroopers are not dirty enough then just roll them in a bit of mud. The reason for the commando droids being brown is because of the particular reflection of the sun's rays in the system they were fighting at the time when the Lego employees were asking them to pose for some pictures. Does that make everyone happy? Quote

lightningtiger Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Gee, we always trust and forever thank 'grogall' for his collection of images. The sandtroopers with those markings - remember there are a lot of rough sand storms. Now, the commando droids.....hmm, when ever we see them in an episode (or when I can see an episode ) they are using in a dark scene...trust the Seperatist's eh ? Lego are trying their best to make me buy all those sets aren't they ? Interesting to see that the figure count is 4, and in pairs - rough the part counts/set sizes per price bracket. Battle packs and next size up's - one OT amd one CW each.....though the fighter's are of course OT....oh, so tempting 2012 is looking ! Quick Edit.... Oops, I forgot something....swoop bike....is that a new curved/modified plate I see ? Edited November 22, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
StoutFiles Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 The sandtroopers with those markings - remember there are a lot of rough sand storms. Exactly. The sandtroopers searching the desert for the droids will be dirtier than the ones doing vehicle inspection at Mos Eisley. They will still integrate fine with other sandtroopers, but no, you can't take off their accessories and group them in with stormtroopers. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I am all over those Commando Droids, and the Stormtroopers! I can't wait to get my hands on these sets! Quote
Piranha Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) I do actually wish the leg prints were w/o dirt so we could interchange them. I wonder should we get a new Dagobah set would R2 be muddy? oh and new hoth sets the snowtrooper and rebels should have snow on them and Darth Vader too. this has opened a whole new world of figs and their environment. 382nd Legionnaire Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Agreed. Maybe in a set from the Citadel arc we might get a black one. There's always Sharpie or paint, though. Don't forget that TLG gave a dark grey Super Battle Droid instead of a dark navy color. The X-wing looks awesome though. I might pick one up having missed my chance for the previous one. The last one has been on the shelves for over 5 years. Quote
wokajablocka Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 The dirty Stormies look great IMO but the only thing that gets me is that standing next to each other the dirt prints will be exacly the same . It would have been awsome to get two diffrent dirt prints so they look slightly more individual. Im also glad thet the commando droids are going to be dark grey and not the rust colour perceived in the new picture, thanks legolandia . Quote
CMP Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I love those commando droids. The color doesn't quite fit them, but alone, it's a great color. Quote

Exactly; LEGO did unique "dirty" printing on two of the Alien minifigs from the Toy Story Trash Compactor set. It would be nice to have that again here. Edited November 23, 2011 by Rocketbilly Quote
382nd Legionnaire Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm loving the fact that TLG is starting to produce leg printing for most of their minifigs. Looks much nicer now. Quote

I don't really mind the colour as some variety would be nice, but the grey ones should be in the battlepack either way. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Yeah, there have been previous errors made in those pictures. I don't really mind the colour as some variety would be nice, but the grey ones should be in the battlepack either way. I agree. I think that the majority of figures in a battle packshould be the "standard" variety of trooper, and more specialised figures should come one to a box, for variety's sake, and instead appear in other sets. I know that's probably pretty boring, but for me I like my armies to consist mostlyof standard troops, with specialised troops taking up a smaller portion. These droids are usually darker, so I'd prefer it if they were that colour in this set, and then the rusty coloured ones could appear in a set based on the episode they appeared in. Quote
Mr Man Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I do actually wish the leg prints were w/o dirt so we could interchange them. Well maybe the dirt prints are easier to remove without damaging the leg printing . We can but hope . Quote
Fallenangel Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I wonder, now that we have good pictures of everything else, why we haven't seen or heard any more of 3866. Was this delay typical of LEGO games for other themes? Quote
