It would make sense because a Rancor is something people would want, but ir's something that can only appear in a Jabba's Palace set, and it would be a while until they rehash that set again. Quote

When it comes to the desires of my AFOL heart, 'Cloud City' and a rehash of an 'Imperial Star Destroyer' do clearly qualify to be things most desired and big enough to be adored for ages. Since we get an SSD this year, Bespin does most likely remain. I would hope for a big set. But please not a 400 bucks UCS. I could afford but wouldn't spend so much for just one set within just one hobby. Jabba's palace with a Rancor sounds reasonable, too. But to make it really attractive it would have to be a 2.000+ bricks set and really expensive, i think. Quote

I think Oky Wan Kenobi has summed it up. This is where im putting all my money for a bet. I want a rancor more that anything. I know the Rancor could come up in a felucia EU or CW set but so many colourful plants would be hard for TLG to produce. Quote

I think Jabba's Palace is like Echo Base and the Mos Eisley Cantina in that anything The LEGO Group does with it will leave AFOLs unsatisfied. There are so many incredible MOC renditions of all three that no LEGO set could ever match up. We should therefore focus on more realistic big sets... like a Providence playset. But that is for another thread. You're probably right about the palace and the cantina. Still, as 8038 has shown (the perfect set to me), TLG can satisfy an overwhelming majority of AFOLs, too. Regarding the new Echo Base - i like it. Might look a little and 'too playable' odd at first glance but it offers a lot we did yet miss. I am convinced that it was a good idea to pack several scenes into it and that it fills the open gap to add for a great Hoth diorama. Together with 7749, 8129, 8089 and 7666 we get everything about this memorable topic. Collectors and fans of EP V would later regret to pass it. I for one will definitely own the new Echo Base. Hmm... interesting. I wonder if this hints towards something more obscure. After finishing The Force Unleashed, I've been disappointed that there weren't more sets released on it. I also have to rebuild my Rogue Shadow. There are a couple of vehicles that appear in the game that I think could make nice sets, like the AT-CT or the Imperial Dropship. Anyway, I guess that might be a bit too obscure. Jabba's Palace sounds nice, but I'm hoping for something else first. Quote

Navy Trooper Fenson Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Hate to disapoint but to my knowledge there's only one Endor Battle Pack coming containing: 2 Endor Rebel Troops, 1 Storm Trooper, 1 Scout trooper a speeder bike and a small tree with a flick fire missile. The other Battle pack contains: 1 ARC Trooper, 1 ARF Trooper, 2 Commando Droids and a republic Artillery canon. I don´t see a reason for you lying, but I also don´t see a reason for LEGO suddendly breaking away from their trot, only a few steps away from a Battlepack for every OT movie and their respective soldier classes. I just hope news for the battlepack content starts showing up, I want to know how many Navys are included so I can start planning my new army. I see that a lot of you guys complain about the cockpit and maybe the complains are justified - I leave this in the middle - but please keep in mind that we designers have to build by a certain system because there´s a big difference between FAN-build and LEGO-build. We have much more rules to follow then you guys and sometimes that´s forgotten. On top of this, we also have an age-mark what means that not all solutions are possible. I didn´t read through all cockpit complains, but why was it necessary to change the cockpit window from the standard TIE window to the half bubble? I would think when a designer is told to build a TIE he would automatically grab the window piece an start constructing around it. I also can´t imagine it being so important to weight or other restrictions. some only want to pay $5 for a set but it must contain 20 new mini figures with 1001 different accessories, 600 stones and preferably in rare or new colors. Once again I don´t want to offend anyone but please think for a minute. Was that on the LEGO.com forum or in some "Report your dream"-thread? One think I can say,...there will be a set in 2012 with something special in it...and I recommend it to everybody to buy it because it will be something that will come out and will go back in the dark shadows of the Empire for a very very very long time. But the good thing about speculation is that you all show what you want and that´s positive in every way. I known that some members think that LEGO doesn´t care about his AFOL but that´s not true. Of course the first client is the kid...that has always been. But you AFOL´s count too...believe me. But in all honesty; it was more a warning like I said. Because maybe some know the feeling when you forget to buy a set and find out that it will take ages for it´s released again or it will be never released again or that the prize has gone sky-high on Ebay & co...you regrets have no limits then. For example, how many regret that they didn´t buy the set with the printed Boba or the set with the special blue helmet of Maersk or ... In my opinion 2012 is quite special in release (talking Star Wars). And for 2013 that´s gone be a very special year overall...with things you have seen never before (playthemes and IP´s). That´s all I can say and now it´s up to you to save some money... Quote

The way it's phrased it soundds like something that hasn't been made before, and there isn't a lot of that, especially for something directed at AFOLs. Although we have had Cloud City before, it may be a lot more detailed. Or it could be something unthought of, like Dagobah or the Jedi Temple. Or maybe the hint- as suggested- refers to Shadows of the Empire or some other EU set. It's hard to tell. Quote

I'm not sure if I would regret not buying that for the rest of my life... 2012 is special in release. Well, thats what we heard about 2011 too. We hear that it would "rock our worlds". Well it seemed like another average year to me... And we should be getting PM sets, a few AOTC sets. Those are pretty predictable. And then it looks like we are getting less and less CW sets. Then we should get the usual batch of OT sets. So the special surprise is probably OT, no? But the OT has been covered almost completely. Jabba's palace and Cloud City remain. I personally say Cloud City. And 2013? Phew. We will start to see more AOTC sets and ROTS sets. New playthemes? Hmmm. ORDER 66 LINE! I remember someone hinted at that a while ago. I guess that's a playtheme. I can't think what else. Geonosis Arena? Jedi Temple? And sorry if this is obvious, but what is an "IP"? Edited July 29, 2011 by brickbuilder Quote
