Darth Nihilus Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Bly has never been made as a mini-figure. We saw a generic 327th Clone in the 2007 Clone battle pack, but that wasn't Bly. Bly has yet to be released as a mini-figure. Ah, thank you. the Ice Cutter was the vehicle in the Hoth Rebel battle pack. It appears briefly in a scene in ROTS in the hangar in Echo Base, and I believe Luke uses one to fend off some wompas in a deleted scene, too. So that's what that was! Platoon Attack Craft. Ah. The vehicle in the Battle of Naboo can't really be called a PAC though, it carries far too few droids. Quote

That was actually supposed to be a Commander Cody, but Lego messed up. But it is stated that mini-figure is supposed to be based off Cody. The orange pauldron is one reason for this, as Bly doesn't wear a orange one. EDIT: The reason it came out like it did was because Lego had not designed a more screen-accurate Cody, but that mini-figure was created to be used as Cody, not Bly. Fallenangel Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 BARCs were made popular by TCW, V-Wing pilots are in a lot of RotS scenes, not necesarilly in V-Wings though. -7261 (the first set to include this trooper, which is what I was thinking of when I said 'BARC') was released in 2005 - well before THE Clone Wars. -Name a scene in Sith that features V-wing pilots (with the fully enclosed white helmets). What's an 'ice cutter' and a 'PAC'? I've never seen LEGO sets of those. Point proven. My main point on the Max Rebo debate is not that he is obscure, though that was a lesser point, but my main point was that if they made him, the rest of the band would have to follow, otherwise he would look out of place. Oola or another dancer wouldn't look out of place unless Jabba didn't come with the set, in which case it wouldn't be 'Jabba's Palace' now would it? Excuse me? Don't think so. He would have to have new molds for all his parts, and if TLG is making Jabba's Palace, I would much rather have Boba Fett than Max Rebo. He's just not a mainstream character. His only appearance that I know of besides the 5-second role in the movie was SW Tales. Just the thought of that series makes me sick. Oola would be nice, and I can see that happening because of the Twi'lek headpiece on Aayla Secura in 2010, and the rest of the figs you listed would work. I just can't bring myself to imagine a LEGO set having such an obscure character though. Yes, Oola's obscure, or at least her name, but who would care about a band member when you can have a sexy Twi'lek instead? My reasoning: 1. His legs have to fit inside his drum. 2. Your idea for the head would work. 3. Oola hasn't been made before. If StoutFiles' ideas for 'figs is correct, I would rather have Slave Leia or another Twi'lek rather than Rebo. 4. If Rebo is in the set, TLG might decide to make the rest of the band, and a LEGO Sly Snootums is not what I want. That would be awful <<Semblance of having been tacked on as a nod to the consensus and having less prominence as an argument in comparison to the 'obscure' nature of Max Rebo Ah, thank you. So that's what that was! Ah. The vehicle in the Battle of Naboo can't really be called a PAC though, it carries far too few droids. A bit more consistency in your posting would be greatly preferred. Fallenangel Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 There has never been a Bly minifigure The 327th Star Corps, then. In any case, my point still stands. If you mean my stance on the debate, same answer. Clearly, your opinion on the matter had shifted, but you claimed that your previous posts endorsed the same stance when they evidently did not. As valid as the argument of the mutability of the past is, discussion becomes rather difficult when you alter your memory and attempt to alter ours without first altering the posts as they were recorded on this forum. It would be preferable that we all remember what our positions on a particular issue were a few hours ago. Quote

I look over Darth Nihilus' posts and they seem consistent to me. You make it sound like he directly contradicted himself, but I don't even see a contradiction in the slightest. It seems plain that he would like Oola, doesn't think LEGO sets usually have obscure characters, and doesn't really want any of the band members. What is the problem? Quote

It seems plain that he would like Oola, doesn't think LEGO sets usually have obscure characters, and doesn't really want any of the band members. What is the problem? My language may have come across as less than perfectly appropriate for the occasion; my apologies. What I found odd was that Darth Nihilus first presented the case of obscure characters in sets as his primary argument against Max Rebo in a palace set in post #2704, with the necessity of having to include the entire Max Rebo band added on later in post #2708 as what I took to be a humorous minor point, but when met with my argument illustrating the former as the norm in post #2720, claimed to have presented the latter as his primary argument. Obviously he had changed his mind regarding which point he felt more strongly for somewhere between the two posts, but the way in which he worded post #2722 ("My main point on the Max Rebo debate is not that he is obscure, though that was a lesser point, but my main point was that if they made him, the rest of the band would have to follow, otherwise he would look out of place") made it seem as if no change had occurred. Simply put, he attempted to invert his major and minor points after he had given them, referring to the former as the latter and vice versa, without stating that he had changed his mind. This really isn’t as big of a chip on my shoulder as I’m making it sound; I’m afraid I’m just rather verbose at times... Quote

But you're probably right. Since The LEGO Group included a BARC with its AT-RT, I always figured they swapped the two and that it was supposed to be an AT-RT driver on the BARC speeder... Quote

Piranha Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 ok I agree that Tien Numb and Shadow Stormtroopers as well as a Shadow ARF are pretty obscure characters to make. That said there is a chance TLG would do some in Jabba's Palace, I would give it a 30% chance. Quote

Huntleyfx Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 We can't forget Wald or Farr (or the pirates for that matter) under the heading of "Obscure characters." As for Jabba's Palace, I don't think Rebo is going to happen, but Oola, given the Aayla headpiece, might be a possibility. I think the most likey "new" character we might see is maybe Bousch. Just my two cents and an educated guess. Quote

Lord Of The Fries Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Here's a close up of some of the 2012 Minifigs: I can't wait to get my hands on Commander Gree Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for the picture! I must say, I really love the design of that stormtrooper. It's not overboarded with detail like some complained but with just the right amount of printing here and there. Could be just me of course. I'm glad C-3P0's head has printed eyes, it's not as noticeable in C-3P0 but it looks awkward for the black protocol or the red one to have matching eye colours rather a yellow light. Gree looks good I guess. What I'm disappointed about are the ARC and the ARF. The ARC's helmet I think looks weird with the gray, I know it's supposed to be there, but it just doesn't fit in my eyes... And the ARF seems to have taken a step back with the lack of detail on his helmet. It could of course, just be the angle Loving all the OT figs, meh on the CW ones and can't wait Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 And the ARF seems to have taken a step back with the lack of detail on his helmet. It could of course, just be the angle It's just the angle, because at this view the helmet clearly isn't lacking in print details, even more than the previous Lightning Squadron ARF trooper helmet. AngryChair Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for posting the pictures. The detailing on the new range of figures are fantastic in my opinion Quote
