StoutFiles Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Wow, surprised no-one has yet to post my photo. Anyways, I was able to get my hands on the new Sandtrooper through Ebay, and I must say that it looks great! I just wonder if they will use that same head in the new Endor Battle Pack? --David Is there any sand on the back of him or his helmet? Quote
Huntleyfx Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I think I am changing back, once again. Also, is his face grey-toned at all in real light? Quote
pranas Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Wow, that face print looks REALLY faded! Oh well, I'm going to be leaving their helmets on anyways, so I guess for me it doesn't really matter too much. The sand printing on the rest of the figure looks really great though! Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Regarding the stormtrooper face, you guys have to understand a light colour has been printed over black, it's like the bomb squad trooper helmets. It can't be helped for it to look abit off Quote
Brickmamba Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 sand trooper looks great, and the printed face is a nice bonus, can't wait! Quote
Brickadeer Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) sand trooper looks great, and the printed face is a nice bonus, can't wait! Actually, I like the fact that they made printed faces. I wonder when non-TCW versions of clone troopers with printed faces and Clone Commanders will be available. I further wonder if the Endor battle pack imperial troopers will have printed faces as well. I'd say the odds are pretty good that they won't. Edited December 10, 2011 by Brickadeer Quote
Strand Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 That's just like SWTOR....lemme break it down. Left to right, top to bottom: Slave I, TIE Fighter, Sidways Imperial Shuttle, fairly creative ship, Millenium Falcon, smashed up Tantive. Really, it seems like the whole game is going to be a mash-up of the OT, PT, and CW. The nearly-identical-to-clones-but-not-really-clone-troopers, all of these...gah. That's just me, who feels like everything should be brand new. I would still like a Mantis, though.... Well... It's clear that BioWare's heavily pushing the Star Wars brand recognition so this game can compete with WoW. Of course they'll re-use certain recognisable motifs throughout the series. Hence why all the troopers look inexplicably like Stormtroopers, the smuggler ship is a KIRF Millennium Falcon and walkers are still the heavy ground vehicle of choice. This technological stagnation makes no sense within the lore (when this game is set thousands of years prior to the trilogies), you just have to live with it. Much like how in many fantasy series (Tolkien is a main offender), warfare never really progresses past swords, shields, bows and arrows despite millennia passing between books. Back on topic. I do wish they make some of these ships into official sets. I liked what TLG did with the Rogue Shadow from The Force Unleashed, even if I didn't like the set itself and I hope they continue to support EU-inspired designs like the ones from TOR. Quote

With inconsistencies like that its no wonder that some authors stopped writing for EU. If Lego decides to make a set based on the game I hope they do include an old Jedi or Sith in there. It would be the perfect opportunity. Quote

If the rumored "Old Republic Starfighter" is indeed based on the game, Satele Shan and Darth Malgus would most likely be the figs included, as they're the two main characters from each side. Quote

Companies tend to make things look generally the same. No one bashes the Outrider, even though it's similar to the Falcon. No one bashes the other TIE Fighters, even though they're clearly based off each other. Quote
Commander Adama Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Am I the only one thinking the mud looks very much like diarrhea.... I hae to say the face looks aweseome, and it looks very much like Boba Fett Quote
Fallenangel Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I hae to say the face looks aweseome, and it looks very much like Boba Fett *Slightly bothered due to The LEGO Group's continuity choices* *Remains silent because it's really not that big of a deal* Quote
Mr Man Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 *Slightly bothered due to The LEGO Group's continuity choices* *Remains silent because it's really not that big of a deal* Maybe so but now the head can be used to remove the creepy CW Clones faces and be used for updated Jango or Boba Fetts, Unfortunately it looks hideous and badly printed. simonjedi Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 *Slightly bothered due to The LEGO Group's continuity choices* *Remains silent because it's really not that big of a deal* PFFT. Like that's ever stopped you before. Some of the background fluff for TOR really put me off the game (Although because it's a mumorpeger I wouldn't play it anyway) I'd rather have something else. That's because Outrider is a different model of the same ship made by the same company. And it is within the same century. But for a ship made 4000+ years ago to be so similar to the current ones is a blatant rip off and a laziness of developer's imagination. To make it worse it's not just one ship but a number of them. Fives Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I'm loving the new Stormie face. The print doesn't look that faded. I mean, the old Jango head was pretty faded, but it was still fine. Speaking of Jango, does anyone else believe that this new face might mean the long-awaited return of Jango Fett? Also, I really hope that this Old Republic fighter is not a EU ship. Any time that LEGO has done something from the EU it fails horribly, albeit we may get some great figs. If a set had Nihilus or Malgus, than I will probably get it. Also, I really want the Felucian fighter to turn out to be an Umbarran fighter. Quote
Fallenangel Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Someone appears to have rendered 9493 in LDraw. See here. Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Yep, they sure look nice. I'm looking forward to them. Quote
382nd Legionnaire Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Lego is really stepping up their game with the mini figures. If they had done this with sets with bad piece for price ratios, I would have kept my mouth shut. Quote

Price per weight, now that's a different story... Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Just a thought: maybe Lego is pushing out so many different minifigs because they're running out of new sets/ships ? Except for CW, I can't think of much stuff they haven't done yet. Quote

Except for CW, I can't think of much stuff they haven't done yet. Maybe, but there's plenty of ships they could revisit and have them feel brand new. I'd personally like to see a new Gungan sub; the old one is INCREDIBLY outdated. Quote
