Fallenangel Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The whole fighter looks a bit redesigned really. I don't think it looks anything like the actual starfighter though, but a new design is better than an accurate design after we've already had so many. I concur. Remember, it's not like I ever liked the actual thing anyway. Not a new dome piece, I have a trans-blue version from the Alien Conquest Jet Copter The piece itself is relatively new in smoke, and when we saw it on 7959 someone mentioned how it would be perfect for a Delta-7, so this came as a pleasant surprise. Algernon Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 As many have already said, these pictures appear to be VERY preliminary, so I don't want to judge too fast, but I have to say that these look nice. That EU TIE set, in particular, looks fantastic. It looks like Star Wars might be roping be back in this year... I've been resisting this theme for so long due to the prices, but the lack of a true Space theme makes it hard for me to resist these awesome sets. I'm especially liking the large number of OT sets. Great stuff. As for LotR... Quote

StoutFiles Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I see what you mean. Where is Chewie and Han is the skiff? They're in Jabba's Palace. No repeats between the two sets, which is great. Quote
autobrick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Overall, I can't say I'm all that impressed, but I do like 9516 Jabba's Palace (missed the first, and this one looks better) and 9496 Skiff (to go along with the Palace). The 9515 Malevolence has potential, but the rest leave me somewhat wanting; hopefully better pictures will change my mind. I also find the idea of 'Santa Maul' to be quite intriguing (or maybe the word I'm looking for is 'strange' ). Quote
Rune Haako Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 SWEET, and Jabba's Palace better come with the Rancor! Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 SWEET, and Jabba's Palace better come with the Rancor! The designs of the figures may change, but the list hardly changes... Hopefully we'll get one in an exclusive or later in the future.. Quote
Ritz Brick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Somethings just don't go through the everyone, these are probably the most preliminary sets can get. So the need for asking silly things such as why Anakin has a red lightsabre and stuff like that is not necessary. Besides the fact. Jabba's Palace appears to have a really low piece count from what I see. A big empty room and a tower Quote
BrickMagnetReviews Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) It looks like the only set Queen Amidala could be in is the Gungan Sub. Didn't see this was already posted. Sorry! Edited December 19, 2011 by BrickMagnetReviews Quote
StoutFiles Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Besides the fact. Jabba's Palace appears to have a really low piece count from what I see. A big empty room and a tower It's all about the minifigs right now. Just enough pieces to warrant making the figures. It's designed to resemble the outside of the palace (I wonder if you turn the set around you can display it as a Jabba's Palace mini?) but its low piece count reminds me of similar Harry Potter sets with a smaller Hogwarts build, so it's not like we haven't seen this design before. Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The Fury! Yes! I was going to skip Saesee's Starfighter, but is that Even Piell? The shape is really odd though. Gungan Sub is nice. All the others are okay. The Jabba's Palace set is probably under everyone's expectations. The minifigs are great, but I have no idea what the set itself is meant to resemble. On the plus side, seeing as Luke appears to be absent from the set, I think we'll get another "Palace" to connect to it, hopefully including the Rancorr. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Ok my opinions on the summer sets Jabba's palace: a shame, better than this years echo base still a Shame. Got minifigures though. EU sets: never seen them before can't comment Jedi starfighter: like the new cockpit, good sized set Gungan sub: I don't like the Gungan sub, it is not an Important vehicle, why rehash? I think Amidala will be In a "limited edition" set later in the year Skiff: good chance for minifigures seems good Quote
BrickMagnetReviews Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 On the plus side, seeing as Luke appears to be absent from the set, I think we'll get another "Palace" to connect to it, hopefully including the Rancorr. That would be cool! A Rancorr area with Luke and others. Quote
Rune Haako Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Looks like we may be getting a new Han in carbonite in the Jabba's Palace set that isn't just a brick. I can't tell for sure but it looks sculpted, and not just painted on a brick. Edit Nevermind, it's the Han from the new Slave 1. I forgot about that one, and I don't have that set. wesker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Really love the new Gungan Sub. Much sleeker than the original version and it looks like we're FINALLY getting a jedi padawan hairpiece for Obi-Wan! The palace I'm very happy with. The throne room looks well designed and we're actually getting an exterior this time. And I'm glad we didn't get a rancor or droid dungeon this time around. Save them for a future expansion. Jedi Starfighter isn't bad but the new cockpit looks a bit odd. I'm really hoping Even Piell's head isn't rubber. Soft plastic fine, but not rubber. Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The skiff looks like a great set for minifigs! Can't wait. Quote
Oky Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Pics already! How exciting! I tried to enhance them a bit and uploaded them to my 2012 brickshelf folder. I have only one thing to say: No Rancor in Jabba's Palace? Seriously?! After The Padawan Menace I was almost sure it would be included in this set. Unless they're planning an add-on set with it for a later release, this is a big missed opportunity. Oh well, all the other new figs make up for it I guess, and I like how they took the new Hogwarts approach of a playset that consists of only a few rooms, but looks like the entire building from the outside. The new JSF design looks good, and the advent calendar doesn't look bad either, even though it seems very focused on TPM. Maul in winter clothes seems like a strange concept, but it fits into the Xmas/Episode I theme. Quote
wesker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Think of it this way - by saving the rancor for another set in the future, not only do we get Oola/Boussh/Salacious Crumb next year but it leaves the door open for other exclusive Jabba's Palace characters like Malakili or the Max Rebo band down the road. Quote
GingerWookiee Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I think, personally, the 2 old republic sets are really good. I was expecting some rubbish sets for 3 year olds. Quote
willybob Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Did some enhancing as much as I could : here ---> http://www.hothbricks.com/2011/12/lego-star-wars-2012-la-seconde-vague-devoilee/ Quote
Brickmamba Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 oh wow talk about being caught off guard, so much happening these days, what with mini figures #6 released, reviews of new batman sets, LotR, insanity k back to SW summer sets first my most anticipated set Jabba's Palace, one of the few old school Jabba/Tatooine related sets i don't have, though there is no Rancor *sob* the amount of exclusive figures (10 in total!) makes this a must buy, someone mentioned the piece count is a lil low so hopefully that keeps the price point down saesee tin's star-fighter looks to change the trend from previous star-fighter sets including 3 figs instead of 2, good news for AFOL's lets hope price remains as before skiff set not much to say other than great lil set for building an army of lando's, boba's and weequays (watching lando prices drop on eBay) , from the preliminary pics weequay looks a bit like shahan alama from cad bane's speeder set, and they thrown in a sarlacc for good measures but looks like they traded in some of the teeth for new tentacles lol bring it on! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Thanks 'willybob' for your enhancing of those images......Skiff , Republic Strike Fighter - not sure about yet, another starfighter.....but at least it's a new design so I give a , the sub....meh, the Fury, , the big M, another (though I don't buy these sets though) and Santa Maul....oh, man you don't want to be on his naughty list eh ? Saved the images, they won't be around long. Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Ahsoka in the Malevolence has the NEW! sign next to her! Even though it shows the old fig this means we're probably getting a new Ahsoka. Hopefully they give her dual lightsabers. Quote

Well, Ahsoka is getting older and starting to look more like an adult than a child. I agree, she needs two lightsabers.....clever girl to make two ! Quote
HJR-Holland Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I saw a picture of the KOTOR vehicles, but the Repuclic Fighter presented is not the right one. It concerns the Republic Starfighter: More info in this link Thought you should know Quote
