Fallenangel Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 It's in that awkward price range where I think it'll be underwhelming. I would have preferred a $300 R2 that was a good size then a $150 R2 that's not big enough. £149.95 is what, about 230 U.S. dollars? Quote
BrickMagnetReviews Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Did anyone save the set number for the "Felucian Fighter"? I searched the thread, but could not find it. I'm pretty sure it was 9498. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 £149.95 is what, about 230 U.S. dollars? But as has been mentioned many times before, sets often cost more pounds than dollars. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I'm pretty sure it was 9498. Thanks! 9498 is Saesee Tiin's Starfighter. Thus , I wonder if "Felucian Fighter" was a stand-in name. Quote
prateek Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) I'm guessing the UCS R2-D2 is going to be around 1:3 scale. This thing is either going to be epic or a total flop. Edited December 31, 2011 by prateek Quote
StoutFiles Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 £149.95 is what, about 230 U.S. dollars? It likely won't be a fair conversion. The Super Star Destroyer is currently £349.99 vs. $399.99. So R2 will vary between $150-$200, likely closer to $150. Quote
Mr Man Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Just noticed that the British price for 10225 is listed now: Any thoughts? For nigh on £150 it better be bigger and better than the General Grievous UCS Fig from a while back. Quote
Lobot Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Sir von Lego said that the new R2 would be 2127 pieces: Today, I talked to the LEGO Service and got the following information: 10225 R2-D2: Elements: 2127 Release Date: March 2012 Price: 149.99 GBP I could be totally wrong, but I think that this will be a great set. If it has 2000+ pieces it's going to be a decent size (even if a lot are small), and the price actually seems quite reasonable (considering it's SW!! ). Quote

But wouldn't $150,- for 2000+ pieces mean that the set includes a lot of standard bricks? Just like 10018 and 7194? I don't hope it will be very sculpture-like though, as I would love to see an accurate and detailed R2-D2, which I'm certainly willing to pay big money for. Quote
cavegod Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 for £150 i don't care if it's a box of 2x4 bricks it's still better value than 10221 Quote
GRogall Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Hi again and all the best for the new year! Not exactly a high res image but a good picture none the less of 3866 Battle of Hoth So all the best for the new year! enjoy :classic: Edited December 31, 2011 by grogall Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I expect that the Summer 2012 wave will have slightly inflated prices as usual, but not in the range of a 20-40% increase like we're talking about here. I predict that the Skiff will be ~$30, Malevolence ~$80, with Jabba's Palace rounding it out as the most expensive, ~$100. Sorry, but not a chance. The malevolence is far too large to be $80. The millennium falcon was $140 this summer, so expect that to be the highest price mark for either the malevolence or Jabbas palace. And thanks so much for the pic, Grogall! That mini AT-AT looks fairly accurate, plus the way you put the microfigs in the back is adorable! Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Thanks grogall! I'll buy this purely for the microfigures. And I have to agree with TheBrickDaddy... that AT-AT is pretty cool! Quote

The Falcon was 1200+ bricks but Malevolence doesnt look like a UCS set to me... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Thanks for the pics, grogall! Some of the microfigs look rather ugly with just this generic mold. Vader just looks wrong without the iconic helmet. Nevertheless, I think I'm definitely going to pick this one up. Quote
Rune Haako Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) What's Boba doing on Hoth? Must got the idea from Robot Chicken when he feeds Han to the TaunTauns. Edited December 31, 2011 by Rune Haako Quote
North Lego Star Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Wow that Hoth game looks pretty nice, I may end up picking it up after all. As for the intense fighting over the prices of the new sets, I believe these are the prices... Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter-24.99$ Desert Skiff-29.99$ Republic Striker Starfighter-39.99$ Lego Star Wars 2012 Advent Calender-39.99$ Fury Class Interceptor-49.99$ Gungan Sub-59.99$ Jabba's Palace-79.99$ Malevolance-119.99$ I'm really think that our two limited edition sets for the summer wave will be a Clone Wars set(Z-95 Starfighter, Umbaran Tank, Trident Tank or some set with Darth Maul) and a Episode 1 set(Royal Starship, Podracer, AAT, Gain Speeder or a Theed Palace). Quote
legolandia Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Happy New Year everyone. The new Lego sets are up and available on Lego UK. Are there any exclusive sets appearing soon or is this all we get in the first wave? @North Lego Star: The prices you have shown seem to be quite realistic (and very decent too I must add). Quote
Fallenangel Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 @North Lego Star: The prices you have shown seem to be quite realistic (and very decent too I must add). On that note, care to tell us where you got these prices? Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Am I completely missing something, or is Jabba's Palace somehow bigger than the Malevolence? It doesn't look that large to me, probably around the size of Echo Base (7879) so I'd guess no more than 800 pieces. Quote
ETAV8R Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Just noticed in the January catalog it lists both 9494 and 9495 as "Hard to find" which is usually an indicator that these will be store exclusives. Also I don't recall seeing it mentioned that Dutch Vander being listed as Gold Leader which had some debate earlier in this thread. Edited January 1, 2012 by ETAV8R Quote

North Lego Star Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 The prices I posted are just comparing the new sets to old sets and their price, for example... Saesee Tiin's StarFighter is very similar to Plo Koon's Jedi StarFighter which ran for 24.99$ aswell, here are all the comparisons... Saesee Tiin's StarFighter---Plo Koon's StarFighter Desert Skiff---Geonosian Fighter Republic Striker StarFighter---Battle For Geonosis 2012 Advent Calender---2011 Advent Calender Fury Class Interceptor---TIE Deffender Gungan Sub---Republic Attack Shuttle Jabba's Palace---2011 Podracers Malevolence---Ventor Class Republic Crusier (I own all the old sets listed so a little bit of an even better comparison) Not confirmed prices but good estimates. Do we have any more information on the B-Wing or the 2 summer limited edition sets? HAPPY NEW YEAR Quote
BrickMagnetReviews Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 2012 Star Wars sets are available now on the lego shop website in the U.K. Maybe by midnight here in the U.S., they will be up on the website. Quote
