Artanis I Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, to be fair, the colors have never mattered as far as the movies are concerned. The entire PT they fight droids, which with their advanced AI they should have no trouble differentiating color so camouflage would be useless. Might as well be white or yellow so that your allies can easily spot you. I guess you could put camo on the droids but they weren't programmed to be stealthy, or good at anything really. The OT didn't need it either. The Empire was so powerful and cocky they could march in wearing anything and dominate the opposition, no need to hide. However, in the one tactical battle they engage in, they are camouflauged in Hoth. On Endor, they were expecting to win and wanted to lure the Rebels out so there was no need for camouflage. As for the Rebels, they use camo on Hoth and Endor. Ships can target other ships, so camo in space isn't very useful. It'd just be harder for wingmen to back each other up. In addition to that, in our ancient world, armies would have obvious banners, shields etc etc so everyone could easily tell which side you were on. Today, sport teams wear contrasting uniforms to avoid confusion. What would happen if all football players (insert your preferred code here) wore green based camo' to blend in to the surroundings? No one would know who was who. When you're in a fire fight with 100 spaceships, you want to know which side the one coming up on your right is on. Quote
legolandia Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Which is odd considering they could just give us clones... We get enough clones as it is thank you very much. RFPP is the perfect way for Lego to give fans a particular minifigure even when Lego has no plans to make the particular vehicle which the minifigure links directly to. For example: if Lego decided to give us a nice Bith minifigure I couldn't care less if they put it in a Mos Eisley cantina set or in Darth Vader's chambers. Quote

True, and Star Wars takes much inspiration from history. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I'm not a dimwit. What does the second "p" stand for? Second 'P' stands for 'policy'. Random Figure Placement Policy. Maybe I'll treat you to another of my rants about it in the Future SW Sets thread. Quote

I had been under the impression that standard white clones weren't as abundantly found in sets as wished. I do think we've had quite enough ARCs and other 'named' clones, but not as many 'generic' clones, nor pilots/captains/commanders. Correct me if I'm wrong. Quote

While it's nice to have special clones, it is an army at the end of the day, and an army has more generic soldiers and stuff than any other special rank. Quote
Muddy Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Although there are no pictures available Brickset has two sets listed not on the front page 9526 Palpatine's Arrest Figures - Emperor Palpatine, one would assume Mace Windu, Eath Koth, Sase Tinn, & Kitt Fisto (head - haha) maybe a Royal Guard in either Red or Blue or Both - Would be cool if they had the statue in his office where the hide his Light Saber and a LS Handle in GOLD & 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter Figures - Pre Vizsla Whatever happened to the listing for Felucian Fighter? Also preliminary list of figures for the SW Advent Include Darth Maul (Santa), Snow Trooper, Rebel Trooper, Super Battle Droid (Pearl DkGrey - PearlBlue would sell this set better HINT Lego Company), Security BD, & Gungan, and ONE exclusive Figure Unrevealed to the Public Mini Vehicles known Sith Infiltrator, Royal Cruiser (N-1, J-Type 327 Nebuian), Green Landspeeder (Seraph-class urban landspeeder), ISD, Gugan Sub, AT-AT Quote

Hope that's true! Quote
Artanis I Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Don't see why we'd have Saesee Tiin in two sets, not saying it wouldn't happen, but it makes little sense. Especially considering it wouldn't be a CW set so he'd be different to the one in the starfighter. And why is he appearing 3 times in less than 2 years with VERY limited screentime, and almost no lines? Also, it would be Agen Kolar, not Eeth Koth. Palpatine would have a double sided head you'd think. Edited January 4, 2012 by Artanis I Quote
382nd Legionnaire Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Wow I guess Lego really does listen to the fans. I remember a while back, a couple of users wanted an arrest scene from ROTS. I'd like TLG make new heads for a more realistic scene since its not CW. Quote
Fallenangel Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The two limited edition sets for 2012, perhaps? Though a 'Mandalorian Fighter' doesn't sound too interesting (unless it's something like a basilisk war droid, which seems unlikely). - Would be cool if they had the statue in his office where the hide his Light Saber and a LS Handle in GOLD Isn't Palpatine's lightsaber mostly silver? And in any case, I'm confident that enough of us would be satisfied with simply bringing back the chrome hilts. Quote
sealslip3 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 So excited for the Palpatine's Arrest set! I've been hoping for Chancellor Palpatine and Mace Windu figures for a while. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Wait a minute, is the Arrest going to be CW style or ROTS? Quote
sealslip3 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Wait a minute, is the Arrest going to be CW style or ROTS? I would expect ROTS; I can't recall LEGO ever making a scene from the movies with CW-style figures. Quote

Rune Haako Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Interesting, are the mini vehicles in the planet sets? Quote
StoutFiles Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Figured Palpatine's Arrest was coming someday, TLG had already planned to make it before it lost to the Home One set a few years back. I expect this to be pricier than what people expect due to the class of minifigs that should come with it. Quote

Home one won the contest, while slave 1 and palpy's arrest were just put off for later release dates. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Awesome!!! I've been eagerly awaiting the release of a Palpatine's Arrest set, ever since it lost to Home One in the fans choice poll. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, that then makes it two sets I'm buying my son this year....both ROTS. Some how kids like him turning into Vader for some reason....11 year old boy's - I can't work them out ! Judging by the set numbers, can I also guess store exclusives possibly again ! Quote
Muddy Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Interesting, are the mini vehicles in the planet sets? Palpatine's arrest should include Anakin too.l Quote
