Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Ah, but doctor....I said basic frame work, it would have to be beefed up to look like a droid control ship ! That still doesn't fix the issue of the fact that two curved arms aren't as strong as a full circle, though. january wave: summer wave: Sources, please. Quote

brickbuilder Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Sources, please. I think "nrg" is just going off patterns from previous years. First of all, the prices in his summer list most likely aren't accurate, because the prices usually vary by $5-$10 each year. Also, with all the new patterns TLG is starting this year, I don't think it's safe to make any assumption according to previous years. Quote
StoutFiles Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Ohh c' mon , just a thought , just a concept.... Once you start giving set numbers and exact prices to items, especially without a "This is my opinion" line, people here will take you seriously. I don't suggest doing it in the future. Quote
The Legonater Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 After reading the comments, it doesn't seem likely, because(I can't remember who) said that the BPs are taking on a new look and have both factions in them, he even added that he has seen pics. If it was Cpt. Kirk (That was his name, right?) I'd agree, but it wasn't It was someone else with no proof whatsoever. I could say that Amidala came with a giant Grassy Plains battle set and say I have pics, but that doesn't make it true. Quote

I don't suggest doing it in the future. Indeed. Plus set numbers are not always in a particular order (even if they usually are), so it's not a good idea to list them with speculation. You should rename this topic in:"rumours&speculations"! This is what happens when our Mod doesn't come in and tell everyone to "Stay on target!". This thread should only include discussion concerning the TIE/ln, and set Amidala is in. Everything else would probably be better off in Future Star Wars sets. (which is not to say I myself am not guilty of some off-topic discussion) Quote

Brickdoctor Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) Two transparent beams. While looking bad they would strengthen the structure, they did it on the podrcers. They're supposed to be on the podracers, representing the energy binders. No such luck for the Lucrehulk.EDIT: Just realized you're talking about the Technic stands. It could work, and such a set probably would be a display model anyways. Edited July 31, 2011 by Brickdoctor Quote

While the TIE and Amidala set are confirmed, the battlepacks and the "collectible concept" sets are certainly rumours, so I think it is okay to discuss them. Quote

However, hoping for Cloud City, a J-type 327 Nubian, and sets from Attack of the Clones, as many people have done here, is not. Personally I think a Theed Palace playset is more likely to include the Queen than a Nubian (which, as mentioned several times in this thread, is highly unlikely) but that's just me. Quote
zlego Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hello I'm zlego,I have been following eurobricks for a couple of years now so i finally joined the new lego star wars line up for 2012 looks pretty good but i'm hopeing for these four sets 1. A new naboo flash speeder it would be a good 20-25$ set and come with 2 naboo guards I'm mean come on we need something to battle all those battle droid, we'll really need it if we get an AAT 2. obi-wan's jedi star fighter with a new obi-wan and an R4-p17 it could sell for 25$ or it could sell for like 50$ if it came with a hyperdrive ring and one more minifig 3. the genonsian arena that could come with the arena and the arena pit and in back a small droid factory and come with like 12 minifigs, it would be like the batle of endor -a lot of minifigs and selling for 100$ 4. finally a new cloud city with the freezing chamber and landing pad with a good amount of minifigs like 15 figs and sell for like 200$ this may be more like a wish list but since episode 1 and 2 are coming soon to the theaters and we have had a new obi wan fighter or obi wan for a while and cloud city is one of the most wanted sets, it would be a good way to make both the buyer and the maker happy Quote

Agreed. TLG's habit of putting inappropriate figures in sets notwithstanding, the Theed palace scenes are the only ones with her wearing that particular outfit. zlego Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 sorry about my first post, rookie mistake by the way i believe the the new qween fig is more likely to come in a royal starship i mean the palace would be a pretty useless set it would have to come with a lot of figs and a speeder or something for it to be worth the money lego would sell it for the royal starship wuold a great set for new astro droids by the way Quote

(I think, although it's been a while since I watched TPM so I'm willing to be proved wrong on this) Correct. During the other scenes she wore different dresses, and considering the Federation occupation of Naboo, it's unlikely the throne room gown was on the starship for her to wear during any non-Naboo events not shown in the movie. (unless she had multiples, but in any case, she only appears in the outfit during the first throne room scenes in the movie) Quote
The Legonater Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 One possibility that I think is quite likely is a small Theed battle scene, similar to 7749. Doubtfull. Summer sets are rarley that small. And a Royal Cruiser- with all the chrome bricks needed- is far from likely. A Theed Playset is our best bet. Quote
Fallenangel Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 i mean the palace would be a pretty useless set it would have to come with a lot of figs and a speeder or something for it to be worth the money lego would sell it for Looking at the success of playsets in the Castle and Harry Potter lines (as well as The LEGO Group's skill in making attractive buildings), I think a Theed playset would be pretty successful. Not to mention the fact that it's shown up in the Future Star Wars Sets thread (and this thread) quite a few times. Another appearance of the rare Naboo Security Officer minifigure would certainly turn a few heads, and the Gian Speeder and Flash Speeder are very much in need of remakes. (Oh, wait - there's never been a LEGO Gian Speeder. *hint hint*) Doubtfull. Summer sets are rarley that small. And a Royal Cruiser- with all the chrome bricks needed- is far from likely. A Theed Playset is our best bet. I concur. The only question is... will it be an 8038 or a 7879? Quote

The Legonater Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) I concur. The only question is... will it be an 8038 or a 7879? Well 7879 was an attempt to combine three scenes from a largely interrior set. Theed has stunning outdoor views, and TLG has been able to capture that sort of thing well, so I'm thinking it should look fairly nice. My biggest question is whether or not we'll see part of the reactor room. Umm... 7749 was a summer set. We usually get 3 $25-$30 sets in the summer wave. But an 8038 style set is also likely. Yeah, I briefly thought 7749 was the Battle of Naboo set. Edited July 31, 2011 by The Legonater Quote

We've seen a step in that direction before with the UCS N-1 - and it was reasonably priced for it's time. Once you're assuming a higher price point, a chrome starship isn't beyond the realms of expectation at all. Quote

The Royal Starship is, and it's also a fair bit larger. Quote
