The Skiff seems like a good way to finally get a Jedi Luke though

Sounds funny to everyone who was collecting Stormies before the BPs....

Great to see these sets in ever closer detail...

  • Kudos to LEGO on Jabba's Palace, looks like a really, really nicely rounded set. Love the new Jabba figure and the play features seem very well thought out. Looking forward to seeing more pictures.
  • I've never felt that the Gungan Sub to be particularly iconic, but the LEGO model looks okay. The Amidala figure will be the real selling point on this one. If anyone is at the NY Toy Fair, PLEASE, get a close-up of her minifig!
  • Now we're on the 3rd Desert Skiff I'd hoped for something better - it seems like the minifigs have stolen the bricks budget on this one. But what minifigs! And Boba too!

The video maker was lame, but at least we got to see a few of these beautiful new sets.

The Gungan Sub looked accurate, the figures are well done. :classic: But!! The real star is Jabba's palace, what a wonderful set! Jabba looks amazing and the inclusion of another Twilek, Leia Boush and all the other figures is just superb.

Besides, the play-features are actually pretty good. :sweet:

Jabba's Palace is WAY better than I first anticipated! LEGO has done such a fantastic job, and I must say this new rendition puts the old 2003 set to shame. Jabba is just plain amazing! Also, Oola, the Gamorrean guard and Leia Boussh look spot on!

As for the Gungan Sub, again, so much better than the old version! Obi-Wan's hair looks a bit out of place (should be brown), but him having a braid on his torso again makes up for the hair issue. Qui-Gon and Jar Jar looks the same. But the Queen! What a beautiful fig!

And then of course the Skiff. The set itself is OK, but the figs are what this set is for. It completes the whole Jabba's Palace scene! With these two sets combined, the whole beginning bits of ROTJ can pretty much be reenacted! Also, Boba has printed legs!!!! (and two capes :sceptic: )

Not the whole scene; remember, we still lack a Rancor.

Since there still seems to be some disagreement on different sites, is there now no "unidentified figure"? Have we seen all the figs or is there another one out there we haven't seen yet since it's incomplete. I was under the impression on this site that all figs for this set were now accounted for, since Carbonite Han was the 10th figure. Brickipedia is still showing an 11th fig, I have assumed they were wrong, but wanted clarification.

Just take one off

I'm guessing that it is two, and one was accidentally put both on Boba. I think one should be on Boussh.

Bingo, another Toy Fair stuff-up.

Now Boba's gun....isn't it a bit too long now with that lightsaber hilt on the muzzle end of that blaster ? :look:

I think it's so that Luke can cut it off, like in RotJ - call it a budget play feature.

Yeah, I liked the Technic half-pin gun from 2010's Slave I better. But, then again, the half-pin is such a common piece. If I buy this set, I can just replace the hilt with the half-pin, and now I have a black hilt to add to my collection. (which are becoming more common nowadays, but I still don't have one and it's still a useful piece)

I agree with the good doctor too, the weapon from Slave 1's Boba is more realistic for him to carry especially as it has a butt on it and short barrel......again could that weapon belong to someone else in the Lego Star Wars collection this year ?

Oh, yeah.....thanks 'Clone gunner comander jedi' for the poster image of Ep.1.....a new wallpaper on this laptop !

That is a very strange poster. Anakin has his old torso and a face that is reminiscent of his older one. Obi-Wan's face is nonexistent in LEGO form and his torso is entirely new. Qui-Gon's torso is similar to the one he and Obi-Wan had in the summer wave, but all of the lines are sharp black and the belt section is different. At first, it led me to believe that this is a preview of what the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan figures in the Sub will look like, but since Anakin is just completely off, I think it's just a cg poster that clue us into nothing.

I've finally watched the video. Yep, so much for a bad model.

Jabba's palace looks great. One thing that would have been nice is the front half, because it's only complete from the back.

We're actually not missing much, just a wall. Still, I think that would have improved the set. Maybe it'll be available with a Rancorr in the future.

Thanks for the pictures and video!

Jabba's Palace is much better than it looked from the blurry prelims, I like the construction and TLG did do a good job considering the overall scale of Jabba's Palace to produce a good model. Now for the Cantina.

Boba Fett does indeed have printed legs :wub_drool:, I only hope they give him printed arms too. His blaster might be a new mold but it does look like a hilt and a blaster connected.

The gungan sub is also a nice set I owned the first one that was my first SW set and this is a great update and includes the queen.

There's a new C-3PO in the poster!!! *oh2*

I hope that it becomes an actual figure, it's about time 3po had an update.

That figure comes in the Droid Escape January 2012 set, so yes, it is a real figure.

I'm not sure if this is raining on your parade or the complete opposite, but it's the one from 9490 Droid Escape.

EDIT: Beaten to it by seconds!

You're joking, right? That figure is already in the new Droid Escape, which is in stores right now.

Has there been anything new shown at Toy Fair? Like R2 or the UCS B-Wing?! These are the only 2 I am waiting on. I think yesterday, Thursday, was the reveal night. So probably not, right?
