Darth Lurtz Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I think it's great that all the minifigures are exclusive. All except Kit Fisto. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) I actually like the Saesee face. Have you seen him? He is one ugly son-of-a-gun. I can't wait to hold this set in my hands. Edited May 29, 2012 by TheLegoDr Quote
legolandia Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I think it's great that all the minifigures are exclusive. What is exclusive about them? I am getting tired of Lego's lazy designers . All they do is slap a new face on old figures and label them as new. They could have at least changed the design of the clothes slightly. And Lego has the courage to demand such a high price for such a rubbish set? It is absolutely pathetic The only exclusive thing about those minifigures is the gold handle of Palpy's saber. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) Looks like Mace doesn't even have a new head. I'm not convinced that the two heads are exactly the same; I don't see the pronounced cheekbone or chin detail on the Mace minifig (although it is a small picture, so I could be wrong). Other than that though, you're right. They're pretty much identical. Edited May 29, 2012 by The_Chosen_1 Quote

It is absolutely pathetic The only exclusive thing about those minifigures is the gold handle of Palpy's saber. I do agree that it was lazy for them to reuse Mace's and Saesee's clothes, and Kit is just getting so outdated to the point where I just feel bad for the guy! But, it looks like Kolar has a new torso print, and both he and Tiin have new faces, so that's a plus. Also, Sidious just looks awesome (swap that head and some flesh hands with the grey and black that are on the current Sidious figs, and he will looks epic! I just wish they had made a dark red hood, so he could wear his cloak from the scene where he declares the creation of the Empire). Unfortunately, that gold hilt has been around for a while. It came out back when the Ninjago theme started, used as the ends of gold nun chucks. Still, I'm glad they did that to show the difference between his hilt and everyone elses. Quote

Agen Kolar, Senator Palpatine, and Saesee Tinn are new for they have new torsos and heads. While Anakin and Mace Windu have new heads on existing bodies. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Not to post again so soon, but legolandia, you have to realize there are always new people getting into the theme and will want new figures instead of old versions. Even if just the head is different, that can change the entire figure. I only recently got into SW, so I have very little of the past figures, so this set will have all exclusive figures for me, which will then in turn sell the set for me. And looking at some of those figures only having a Clone Wars counterpart will make me want this set even more not seeing the giant eyes and weird face printing. But that's just me. Same goes for the new Jabba's palace. I don't have the old Jabba, but I would say the new version is a lot better, so I would be more inclined to get the new Palace instead of trying to get the older version through bricklink. Not to mention the new versions of other figures in that set. And again, the same goes for the Gungan sub. Yes, that price is horrendous, but I don't have any of those 4 figures, so that is more worthwhile in my book. Who knows how many other people are just now getting into the theme and will want these same figures. I understand having rehashes of the same figures over and over will dampen the excitement, but I am excited about these sets coming out this summer. I only just started getting SW sets within the last few months and I already have 4 R2s, so I understand not wanting yet another copy of the same figure. Quote
Kitfistonator Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 All except Kit Fisto. Are you absolutely sure about that? I realize that the head isn't new but the torso is questionable, It does look a lot like the old one but there might be some subtle differences. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Palpatine's Arrest is a decent set. The minifigures alone make this set a must for CW figure haters There is a few play features but the whole thing does seem a bit bare. Quote
Kitfistonator Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) Hey guys, the guy who purchased palpatine's arrest today and the reason why we have the images we do, has begun reviewing the set. Here are some loose photos of his review: I must say that the other face used on Anakin in the set does not look good to me at all http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?p=583942 Edited May 29, 2012 by Kitfistonator Quote

I like the CW series actually, but I hate the figs. Palpatine was a must have since a long time ago, and it wasn't done in non-CW form. Glad to see my wishes done. Edit (in response to Kitfistonator's post): Great! Thanks for the link! I'm so glad we are getting also a non-Sith episode III expression for Anakin. Edited May 29, 2012 by johnnyvgoode Quote

That face looks bad! I'm happy he has an alternate face. As for Tiin and Kolar, they look nice. Quote

Masked Builder Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Well the minifigures look much more interesting with some clear pictures now. Though I doubt I'll get the set. Quote

I realize that the head isn't new but the torso is questionable, It does look a lot like the old one but there might be some subtle differences. The torso is exactly the same. I was hoping for at least a slightly angrier Kit, but I guess that's too much to hope for. Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Looking good. Nice upcoming sets! You just posted that 2 posts above. Why post it again? -Sci Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 You just posted that 2 posts above. Why post it again? -Sci He probably double-posted, but JackJonespaw's post got in between them so they couldn't merge. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 You just posted that 2 posts above. Why post it again? -Sci I wouldn't be surprised if it froze after he hit reply - has happened to me a couple of times, and the posts are only 1 minute apart. Edit: Doc beat me to it. I personally am very disappointed with this set, since there is nothing to it but a few non-CW figs. If there would have been a few new molds in it (Ithorian, Whipid, not that it would be appropriate for the set) it would be a little more exciting, but I definitely won't be buying it. I will probably Bricklink the Agen, since I don't have one yet, and probably Mace's head, but that's about it. If this were a $50 or $60 set, I might consider it but as it stands, it's a pretty big waste of money for a couple of heads and torsos. Now Jabba's palace, for $50 more, give you: 1: a new Jabba 2: Salacious Crumb 3: a new Gamorrean Guard 4: Bousch disguise 5: Oola 6: Bib Fortuna - a pricey fig. Now that's well worth the money to me, especially when you consider that you get an entire palace playset! Quote
sok117 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Wow, honestly, it looks like a half-assed moc rather then an offical lego set, the figs are nice-ish, but more like just new heads tacked onto rehashed clone-wars outfits. This is a %100 pass Quote
prateek Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) I like the new faces, but I could do without the excessive wrinkles... And of course the one figure that needed a jaw line (Mace Windu) doesn't have one Just saw the price 90 Euros seems a bit steep! Edited May 30, 2012 by prateek Quote
Dustin Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Arggh! What to do, what to do? Buy the Malevolence and Palpatine's Arrest, and screw the others? ...Or, buy the Malevolence, Skiff, Tiin's JSF, and screw this? I want Palpy's Arrest, but I want the others, too. I'm leaning towards this decision. Edited May 30, 2012 by Dustin Quote
