North Lego Star Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm a little disappointed that the set doesn't include Palpatine's private chambers, as shown here: It is where the duel begins, after all. I agree, lego could have just made Palapatine's chambers eaisly under 75 pieces and thrown it on one of the three sides of the office. I mean the limited Edition Toys R Us set last year, Echo Base was 773 pieces and included 8 minifigs for the exact same price of Palapatine's Arrest which is only 645 pieces and only comes with 6 minifigs. I must say, lego is just getting smarter knowning that people, such as myself, will say negative things about the set and price yet, in the end we'll be pulled into spending a 100$ for this over-priced set. The lego world is a very, very strange place Quote
Artanis I Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Are you absolutely sure about that? I realize that the head isn't new but the torso is questionable, It does look a lot like the old one but there might be some subtle differences. The box image explicitly states all of the minifigs are new EXCEPT Kit Fisto. I would say that Kit Fisto is not new. This set is a big "no thanks" for me. All I'd get it for is the minifig heads, maybe Agen Kolar since he's a different colour to Eeth Koth - but one is CW the other non, they won't look good together. I will keep my money for more LOTR & The Hobbit sets. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Just saw the price 90 Euros seems a bit steep! The main reason I don't buy sets... They're great but overpriced, at least for me. Quote
sok117 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm a little disappointed that the set doesn't include Palpatine's private chambers, as shown here: Oh yeah, "How do we make a set that is just windows and chairs, better?" "We add another room that is just windows and chairs!" Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I for one like the non-rage Anakin face! We have never had a decent head up until this point so I for one am super excited to get my hands on it Quote
Vindicare Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Not overly excited by this... The figs look nice and the set is alright. It seems to be in the same ballpark as the Helicarrier and Spidey set.trying to mash a big movie set into a little, one room play set. Someone said they weren't liking the fig selection...this I really don't get? All the figs are straight out of the scene. Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't watched the movie in a while. My eyes were drawn, however, to Pre Viszla set. On the price, of course it's going to be overpriced, they all are 99% of the time. I don't even want to know what the TRU tax is going to be. I'm guessing $20. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 It is clearly a new head. Take a look at this picture (zoom in, it's big). That is neither of the sides from the Mustafar set. I'm satisfied with the set. Its pretty much how I expected it to turn out. Nice selection of figures, although Mace Windu's face could use some more detail. At least we're getting more of the Jedi with non-Clone Wars faces. Hopefully we'll see more in some AOTC sets next year. He does come with a new face. I'm glad to see that it is a new head. Quote
Garyn Dakari Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 WOW, is that really €90?! That seems really overpriced, even by Lego standards Yeah, I think I'll pass. Quote
Duke of wellington Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Great set I will buy it even though it will be 150$ in Australia. Quote
Delta 38 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Oh wow! That's actually much better than I expected. I didn't anticipate Anakin or the small ship thing, though the rest was pretty much a given. It's a shame they didn't do more, given all that open interior space, but at least they didn't cheap out on size, as I was half-expecting them to do. Quote
TheDarkness Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I have rarely seen a set as poor as this new 9526. If the minifigs are not considered, the model itself seems to be a model from the 90'. I agree, I think it looks horrible. I will get the minifigs definitely though Quote
Brickmamba Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 The only thing that could have saved this weak looking set was the mini figures, but generally they are all re-releases and I have most of them, easy pass Quote
Calanon Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm really not too keen on the set at all, but for me the minifigures are a must have. Quote
Brickadeer Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) There are first pictures of Sidasa's review of 9526 now at imperiumdersteine. Apparently, it is a new Anakin Uploaded with ImageShack.us Edited May 30, 2012 by Brickadeer Quote

aoxoa Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I just hope the Cloud City set associated with this one and the Home One set has been shelved and revamped. It would be a real shame if, after all this time waiting for a new cloud city, that Lego releases it and it's one of these sub-par playsets and calls it a day. I'm hoping for a Cloud City set more akin to the Death Star! Quote
theflash Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 For one i actually like this set, but what they should do sometime when they re-release ROTS is have a line of collect and connect jedi temple pieces. now wouldn't that be cool? Quote
StoutFiles Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 This set worries me. Every passing year it seems we get less pieces but better minifigs, and those figures are the main incentive to buy expensive sets. I'm not sure how much higher Lego prices can go before parents begin to justify what they're getting vs. what they're paying. There is not a lot of set here, just 6 highly valued figures. I remember when the build was the selling point... Quote
King of Nynrah Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 For one i actually like this set, but what they should do sometime when they re-release ROTS is have a line of collect and connect jedi temple pieces. now wouldn't that be cool? Good idea, a Modular Jedi Temple series. That would sell quite well. And for those of you who insist Kit Fisto is not new, you are wrong in a sense. This is his first set appearance where he has a cape, though all other pieces are from his previous variant. It depends on what you count as a "new" minifigure. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 And for those of you who insist Kit Fisto is not new, you are wrong in a sense. This is his first set appearance where he has a cape, though all other pieces are from his previous variant. It depends on what you count as a "new" minifigure. Well, LEGO clearly doesn't consider it new since they didn't label him as such, so why should anybody else? I think a new figure has to at least be one that has something about it that's unavailable in previous sets. I really don't know how to feel about the Palpatine's Arrest set. It's certainly better than last year's straight-out-of-a-space-theme Echo Base, and it captures the look of the scene, but at the same time it's quite a strange set just because it's so unusual for Star Wars. I wouldn't say strange makes it bad, though. I think the office will look nice, and the modular design with the platform and doorway is a cool idea. They've packed in some nice play features that actually make sense, and the ship is well-executed. Overall, I think it's a fine set. The only awful thing is the price, although I'd still be more tempted to buy this over Echo Base just because this has a nice aesthetic and isn't a jumble of white, grey, and yellow. Quote
Lyichir Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I do agree that it was lazy for them to reuse Mace's and Saesee's clothes, and Kit is just getting so outdated to the point where I just feel bad for the guy! But, it looks like Kolar has a new torso print, and both he and Tiin have new faces, so that's a plus. Also, Sidious just looks awesome (swap that head and some flesh hands with the grey and black that are on the current Sidious figs, and he will looks epic! I just wish they had made a dark red hood, so he could wear his cloak from the scene where he declares the creation of the Empire). Unfortunately, that gold hilt has been around for a while. It came out back when the Ninjago theme started, used as the ends of gold nun chucks. Still, I'm glad they did that to show the difference between his hilt and everyone elses. Actually, the gold lightsaber handles are new, although they're not exclusive to this set. The Ninjago Nunchuks used a mold that was similar to the lightsaber handle, but with perpendicular stud connections on one end. But this summer's Ninjago sets feature the same handle as this set has as part of other weapons. Anyway, this set looks fantastic to me. While I probably won't get it, since I haven't collected Star Wars for some time, it's disingenuous of people to say that LEGO just "slapped something together" that "looks like a set from the '90s". This set has an attractive shape, using hinges as it does to create an angled office, and the detailing like the gold microfig "statues" and three 4x4 tank-looking things bordering the center of the office contribute to an aesthetic that is unmistakeably Star Wars. Frankly, I've never seen any better LEGO depictions of this scene, so I don't see what people have to complain about. I personally think it's just backlash from people who set their hopes unrealistically high during the long wait for this set. Quote
Mr Man Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Give them all a damn cape and they're new, they're all just the CW figs with new heads, (except Kit still the old ROTS fig). Thanks anyway nrg. Quote
natesroom Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) wheres GRogalls with high res photos? Edited May 30, 2012 by natesroom Quote

Plus different arm and hand color on Tiin, a new torso on Palpatine, an entirely new Agen Kolar figure… why so grumbly? The CW-style torsos aren't very different from the other ones these days, so there's no point to redo something like Mace's torso which is pretty much the same. Quote
Mencot Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Not so impressed with this. As others said, the price is a bit too high for 6 minifigs and pieces that should be palpatines office. Edited May 31, 2012 by Mencot Quote
