Lord Of The Fries Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Some pictures of the Sith troopers: Thanks for lookin'! Quote
CMP Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, Loki, Sith Trooper...this guy gets around. I can't get over the detailing on that helmet. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hmm the Sith trooper helmet looks like a combination of Vader's and a ARC Trooper's helmet And yea that face is becoming really generic Quote
LEGO Family Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Found these pictures on MOCpages of what is to be upcoming sets. The pictures are very low resolution though. Maybe its interesting for some of you anyways. :) New star wars sets. Quote

I really don't get Lego sometimes. Lex and Loki, two major villains of the Superhero line, get this now generic face whereas background characters like Two-Face's henchmen get new prints. (Personally I think this head still works on Lex but it was kinda lazy to use for Loki...) As for Palpatine's Arrest, I think the weakest point is the landing pad and ship. I think Lego could've swapped those out and made a wall to connect the doorway to the glass. Still going to get it anyway. Can't wait for the summer wave to get to America. Sorry, i first of all thought pictures were posted along the post as they got found, so i only checked the last 3 pages. Second im not much of a Star Wars fan myself, but i wanted to "share what i thought were news" ..... My mistake. :P Quote
Brickadeer Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Palpatine is beautiful. The CW Palpy is creepy... very creepy.... creepy. I think the CW Palpatine looks pretty much like, well, the CW Palpatine. He has bigger eyes, which is necessary to give him blue pupils. All in all, I think it's a pretty good minifigure, which can be immediately recognized. Compared to him, the new 9526 Palpatine looks more like a youngling to me. The "evil" face looks like a clever crossover of his new face and the face of sw210 Palpy. Quote
AngryChair Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Great selection of figures and overal a nice set. I was surprised to see Anakin's ship though so that's a nice bonus. It's pretty much based on the Home One set which also is a great set. Palpatine's window office part is very nice so shall look forward to MOC's the heck out of that. The only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been the corridor that leads to Palp's ani-chamber, would have loved to have seen that wall decoration of the Sith battle done in Lego ( I know I'm asking too much there..!) Overal a great set though. Congrats to the designers Quote

Mr Man Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 They should have used the DS Sidious head for Palps here, or a double sided one with that face on the reverse. Quote
Lyichir Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 They should have used the DS Sidious head for Palps here, or a double sided one with that face on the reverse. The latter is pretty much what they did. The only difference is that his second face in this set isn't as "drained of color" (which is as it should be for this scene). Quote

CF Mitch Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Could TLC make two different colors on different sides of the same head? Yep. Look at Two-Face, for example. And Zam Wessel, when they still had yellow heads/hands About the set, I love it, really. Only thing I'd like to see different is that one of Palpatine's faces would be a normal, nice one. While the other is more menacing. Now they are both angry-ish... Oh well. Still a must-buy for me Regards, Mitch Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Palpatine's Arrest..... LOVE IT!!!!Althought the price..... Quote
Dustin Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I like the overall look of the CW Palpatine except for an awkward spot of nothingness where a nose would normally go. That's exactly my opinion of the CW Palpatine. He's still a great figure, but I think something is just.. awkward about his face, and I'm no CW face hater. Quote
has a differing opinion Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 That may be true, but we've been waiting for a Padme for 10+ years! (Though this one is crap.) I think Star Wars has always been about the ships, but that's me. don't get me wrong, I love a good ship, but there has been alot of them and it would be nice to break them up with buildings. Quote

It would be nice to get a color drained side on Palpatine. Edited May 31, 2012 by sologuy369 Quote

cavegod Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I love a good building too, but this one is crap. That's my opinion though. LOL great opinion! But yes it is crap I have no idea what Lego were thinking with this set, my 5 year old daughter could do a better job with Duplo! Quote
Lyichir Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 LOL great opinion! But yes it is crap I have no idea what Lego were thinking with this set, my 5 year old daughter could do a better job with Duplo! I'd like to see that, considering Duplo has no hinges that could be used to make the office such an effective shape. Or, for that matter, any substantial quantities of gray or black parts. Seriously, when you have an opinion you should phrase it as such. So instead of "this set is crap" it should be "I don't like this set". Because to write off something designers worked long and hard on as "crap" is about as rude as you can get. Personally, I can't see many ways this set could be made better. It's got an effective aesthetic, a complex build, and great minifigures. The price is the only aspect I feel could be improved, and to be honest it probably couldn't be considering the cost of the Star Wars license combined with the number of minifigs. Quote
cavegod Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Because to write off something designers worked long and hard on Maybe they should have worked harder, the QC for Lego Star Wars must have been on holiday when this was approved..... Quote
Bane Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) Sidasa continues with his review of Palpatine's Arrest. The actual progress: http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?t=26655 -please delete. already posted. - Edited May 31, 2012 by Bane Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) I quite like the set but I will pass, I spent too much on the winter wave and LOTR is too good to resist so I will prefer to save my money for the OT sets. My summary: nice set bur nothing that stands out, better sets out there to get. Edited May 31, 2012 by Jedi master Brick Quote
