Brickadeer Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the pics GRogall To me, both sets look pretty good. Not surprisingly, Viszla can be found on ebay: Uploaded with ImageShack.us The cranny for the force lightnings in 9526 seems like a feature that can be exploited by Oky Edited June 1, 2012 by Brickadeer Quote
legofreak86 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Not impressed with the pre viszla starfighter. The pre viszla figure is good but really we have enough mandalorians. The same obi wan from all the clone wars sets and not an updated season 3-4 Obi Wan figure, really lego this is dissapointing and £49.99 for two meager figures and only one interesting one? This set i shall not buy unless it is heavily reduced. On a lighter note palpatine's arrest looks amazing and the figures are fantastic. I mean finally an accurate episode 3 mace windu and what's more a brand new palpatine that looks really accurate and with a flesh emperor face and not a grey one, hope this means the next variant of sidious will be flesh! .That anakin looks really nice too i'm glad they diddn't just reuse the face from the starfighter that would make him look unnecessarily angry. The smile and the determined scowl are welcome changes .I like the fact they have included the gold handle for the saber and the force lightning too .Wonder how much this will be has anyone got any info i'd say reasonably £70-£80 hopefully . CM4Sci Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Odd. I just noticed that in the picture of Palpatine in his chair with the two secret things popping out, the side technic bricks are straight. Whereas on the box, they're shut and the technic bricks are slanted. BUT, in another photo, the secret things are shut and the technic bricks are slanted. Can someone help me out? Is that an error? -Sci Quote
Graysmith Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Palpatine's Arrest is available on the German S@H site. €90! Quote
Arsenalfan98 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Palpatine's arrest is better than I expected I mean, with 645 pieces I wasnt expecting anything huge, but the actual office part is still big enough and the speeder is just the icing on the cake ( not really, the figures are ) Also on another note not sure about UK, but smyths are giving away the shirtless darth maul figure with any lego star wars purchase ( finally an excuse to buy more battlepacks ) Quote

The first function hides and reveals Sidious's weapons, while the other allows him to be launched at the Jedi from either side of his desk. After seeing these hi res pics, the set only looks better to me. I only have three major gripes with it, and both have to do with the figures. First, why the hell didn't they upgrade Fisto with at least more accurate clothes. His torso and legs should be the same color as Mace, but with a different design, more akin to Kolar. My second problem is Mace. He is made of recycled parts (CW body, Seso from Prince of Persia head). I could (and have) made this figure myself. Lastly, Sidious's hair! Why does TLG think it looks like this! I get it for the CW version, but this movie version should have white Jace Malcolm hair. It would look way better. Other than that, it is a great set. Anakin is great, and the little speeder is just a great addition. Quote

I too have made a mace windu identical to this one. yet another thing i dislike is saesse tiins head it just looks overdone to me as if they have taken it too far. . Quote
Fuppylodders Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Hothbricks has shown us how cheap we can pick up the new summer wave of SW sets. Example, I just ordered the Sith Fury class Interceptor (inc shipping) for a total of £61 =D That's £29 off TLG retail price! Quote
The Kid Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Turns out Palpatine's Arrest is £59.99 in the UK. Which is better than expected! At least compared with the rest of the summer wave... £29.99 for Saesee Tiin's Starfighter?! TK Quote
Fuppylodders Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Now THAT is much more reasonable, and I can go with that, for what one gets with the set. I was expecting at least £80-90 on the price originally, so, my judgement of the set isn't so harsh now. TLG, You have redeemed yourselves! Great job! Quote

Either way that would be an upgrade from the $90 I was expecting to fork over for this set! Quote
sealslip3 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Looks like the summer wave is available on most of the Europe S@H sites, hopefully that means it won't be too much longer for us here in the US. Quote
jmagaletta Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I still absolutely hate that dark saber. I bought one of these from bricklink. THis is what i will give him when i pick up the fighter. Quote

Bane Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Well, even if the colours of the Mando ship look a bit.. flashy, it still looks quite good. Pre Viszla is awesome. I really like how they made the minifig - but I have to say he reminds me Palpatine. Palpatine's Arrest is still not good enough to justify the price. Greetings -Bane Quote
pjpviv Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 If you look on the Palpatine's Arrest set you can see that there are 2 x 1 technic bricks with holes in them underneath the doorway and part of the desk. Do you think that LEGO will possibly add on to this set later, like a modular set? That's what I'm feeling, why else add the holes? Quote

Possibly, but it is most likely to allow multiple ways to set up the set itself. It would be awesome if they did the scene with Sidious vs. Yoda, as an add on set. It could have Sidious (both sides of head evil, one with teeth showing, the other not), a new Yoda, Mas Amedda, and some Royal Guards. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 If you look on the Palpatine's Arrest set you can see that there are 2 x 1 technic bricks with holes in them underneath the doorway and part of the desk. There are holes under the door so that you can attach the walkway and platform there, to sort of have Anakin enter from where he's supposed to enter. That's the way sidasa has it set up in his review on Imperiumdersteine (so it might be shown that way in the instructions). I'm not sure what you mean by the technic bricks under part of the desk. If you mean the technic brick jutting out on the side, that is for a play feature. If you mean the bricks underneath the red carpeting, that is again just so you can arrange the doorway and platform however you want. Also, has anybody else been amused with the description for the set on LEGO.com? My personal favorite is the second to last of the bullet points: Avoid being catapulted out of the window! Quote
The Legonater Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Frankly, I have mixed feelings. On first glance, the set looks very unfinished and ugly. Closer looks redeems the set a little, but... there's still soemthing lacking about it. I can't explain it. Anyways, with Lord of the Rings and all that coming out, this set won't exactly be the first I buy. Quote
Iron-Man Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 TLG really missed the boat on the Kit Fisto fig. I really do not like this version of him, plus he is wrong in almost every way. He has the wrong color skin and robes! I am still looking forward to the day that there will be a good representation of Kit. I think if they went with a regular LEGO head and added the tentacles as a hairpiece it might turn out better! Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Lastly, Sidious's hair! Why does TLG think it looks like this! I get it for the CW version, but this movie version should have white Jace Malcolm hair. It would look way better. Wow, you're right! That hair piece in white would be perfect for Palps. The Clone Wars one just looks....awkward on a movie fig. Quote

At least compared with the rest of the summer wave... £29.99 for Saesee Tiin's Starfighter?! TK I'm really surprised how cheap this set is going to be, I was expecting at least £80. I'll never understand the pricing of sets, comparing this to others of a similar(ish) size: 7879 Echo Base @ £91.99 (768 parts) and 9516 Jabba's Palace @ £119.99 (717 parts) Quote
Professor Jones Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Jabba's palace seems nice, but at 130 euros it's really really expensive. Lego SW fans will probably buy it, but these products are directed to kids and that kind of price makes it a luxury toy, that few parents will be able to afford. I know that prices are continuously going up (and this is actually true of every product of any kind) but this is really getting ridiculous. Considering its size, this set should be priced at 100 euros max IMHO. I'll probably buy it anyway since I'm a Jabba fan... do you guys know if the price has any chance to drop a little at one time or another ? Edited June 1, 2012 by Professor Jones Quote

The Arrest set might have six specific character figures (i.e. not Clones/droids/hired goons) but unless I'm much mistaken (which I very well may be as it's hard to keep track of which Jedi have and haven't been released by now), there are no new molds on them - only new prints. Compare this to the Palace, with a generous dollop of new molds, figures etc. and the price difference starts to make a little more sense. Though not enough sense to warrant double the price, of course. TK Quote
