Dustin Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Except he's not the exclusive jedi to the set... yes, that's right: even Even Piell is uglier No. No. NO! He's so cute! Quote
Faefrost Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) Except he's not the exclusive jedi to the set... yes, that's right: even Even Piell is uglier I still maintain that the designers got good and drunk one night and decided to see who could come up with the ugliest combination of minifigs to sneak into a set with that one. Yeah the Jedi are really ugly, but the hideous green droid just pushes the whole thing over the top into surreal. The only thing that would make it worse would be to throw in a pair of battle droids, in lime green... or the Clone Wars version of Padme Edited June 7, 2012 by Faefrost Quote
Vindicare Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Except he's not the exclusive jedi to the set... yes, that's right: even Even Piell is uglier Actually, Tiin in the JSF set has a CW face. So, Palpys Arrest is technically exclusive. Aren't all the Jedi minus Ani and Kit exclusive? Quote
Onlera Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Really excited for the RotJ sets. I mean, all the prequel sets are nice and all, but it's more fun to have stuff from the original trilogy :) Quote
HumanPackMule Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I'll certainly be getting the new JSF(have Plo Koon's and those two are my favorite Jedi), the skiff(missed the first one and it's a cheap way to get Fett), and the CW fighter(just love how it looks). I might get the new Gungan sub since it looks nice and I loved the original. And maybe the Malevolence. Gotta have a giant ship on the shelves and it looks nice. Quote
Artanis I Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) Re the "all 'round ugly JSF set": I think in the SW universe (perhaps mainly in the cartoon series?) there seems to be a bit too much focus on colouring-in things like JSFs and droids to make them more unique & identifiable. It's fairly unrealistic in my opinion, most people drive cars etc that look exactly the same as the others, and in the rare existence of custom paint jobs, they LOOK GOOD. The colour schemes WORK. The detailing is ART! Even Piell is not your typical good-looking character... so if the minifig was 100% spot on he would still be an ugly sucker! Actually, Tiin in the JSF set has a CW face. So, Palpys Arrest is technically exclusive. Aren't all the Jedi minus Ani and Kit exclusive? I believe that the person I was responding to (Mr Man) had assumed Omega X's comment "ugly exclusive jedi - no offence" in the new JSF referred to Saesee Tiin (who is not exclusive - as he's also appeared in the Jedi Shuttle with Shaak Ti - but many believe him to be ugly). The exclusive jedi in the new JSF is Even Piell (who many believe to be ugly). Saesee Tiin in nonCW appearance IS exclusive in the new Palpatine Arrest set (...and many believe to be ugly), but was not the set or minifig any 3 of us were discussing. Iron-Man Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Actually, Tiin in the JSF set has a CW face. So, Palpys Arrest is technically exclusive. Aren't all the Jedi minus Ani and Kit exclusive? Anakin can technically be considered exclusive since he has new faces. Kit is the only one that has been completely done before. Quote
legolandia Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Did Lego list all the new sets on their online shop a few days ago and has taken them down now? Or have I been drugged and experiencing halucinations for the past few days? Quote
The Joker1 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Well I never your right???????????? I managed to get a skiff in the small window when they were available. First they took away jabbas palace and now the rest of them. Quote
KurttKrueger Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I also managed to get 9497 before they were taken down. It got delivered yesterday, really nice set. Quote
Omega X Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I'm sure Saesee Tiin won't take much offence to that . Are you sure he won't be offended after I bad-mouthed his partner? Personally, I'm looking forward to the Skiff and Palace most, but that's likely due to the fact that I'm not really interested in CW or EU sets. I do, however, think that the Skiff is one of the best-priced SW sets to come out in a while, so that's probably the one to pick up first in my opinion. Sure thanks for the advise sealship3. I'd say the Malevolence, but everyone knows my opinion about that. One thing... are you forgetting about the overpriced Palpatine's Arrest that a lot will be rushing out to waste their money on? I know I'll certainly waste spend my money on thaaaat one. Ah...About the Palpatine's Arrest, you can look at my thoughts here If it helps you form a mental picture of this one, the Sith Fury is NOT a Starfighter. It is a small formidable light duty starship, in about the same size range as Slave 1, Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, or Padme's ship. The in game model of the ship measures out at roughly 33 meters long, so about 2/3 the size of the Milenium Falcon. The Lego version seems a little small, but still really nice. It has both a cockpit and a rear crew cabin. The Old Republic is a series of Star Wars games by Bioware ( the same folks that made Mass Effect) set centuries before Star Wars. The Fury and the Striker are from the latest of those games. An online MMO called Star Wars the Old Republic. Okay thanks for the information Faefrost. Mr Man Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Are you sure he won't be offended after I bad-mouthed his partner? Wait, you didn't let me finish, I said Tin wont be offended...But Even Piell most certainly will . (I completely forgot about Piell ). Quote

CM4Sci Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Apparently, one of our members has a review of the Palpatine set! -Sci Quote
Iron-Man Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the video! 20 minutes for a review is kind of ridiculous..... Also he says that Mace has a new face, which I thought was just Seso's from PoP, and I thought the only new thing on Anakin was his face not torso? Edited June 8, 2012 by Iron-Man Quote
Arsenalfan98 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Just incase anyone is wondering, smyths (Ireland) has the new summer star wars sets on their website and it says we'll be getting them on June 23rd . Quote
sealslip3 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Apparently, one of our members has a review of the Palpatine set! The more I see this set, the more I start to like it. I still think its vastly overpriced if it does end up being $90, but the scene is quite well-represented. Quote
legolandia Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 The only thing that would make it worse would be to throw in a pair of battle droids, in lime green... or the Clone Wars version of Padme Cube Dude Yoda is built with lime green and looks nice I think a figure in nice baby pink would be quite nice Quote
Thego Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 As an OT fan, I don't buy PT or CW sets at all. However, the Palpatine's Arrest set has me really tempted to delve into PT. I really like it. Quote
Alldarker Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 I just finished building 9516 Jabba's Palace, and it's a nice build, with great figures, but a little on the small side. I'd seen quite a few pictures of the Palace already, but one side I hadn't seen, and that was the underneath. I told myself that when I'd be building this set, I'd keep a careful eye out for any hints which might suggest this set could one day be added on top of a Rancor Pit. I'd already seen some hints, like the trap door leading to... floor, and double grates in the floor which would normally allow a clear view right through the bottom. To my surprise and joy, the underside turns out to indeed hint even more strongly at a future Rancor Pit!!! See the picture below: The underside has four 2 x 2 holes, which have been very purposely designed into the bottom and serve no purpose for the Palace itself. However, their placement, at each corner of the Palace underside, strongly suggest these have been prepared to lock on to some sort of construction... Some sort of construction which can only be a Rancor Pit!!! Quote

Some sort of construction which can only be a Rancor Pit!!! This is my first post on here. And I've gotta say, awesome report! Thanks for letting us know about that. It'd be pretty ingenious of TLG to do this. Since you mentioned that the set was small, can you put up any comparison pics with other sets? Quote
WampaStomper Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Palpatine's Arrest is another one for my must have list. Too bad the Aussie Price will be something really ridiculous. Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Great spotting Alldarker. Fingers crossed you are correct! Quote
